Call of duty advanced warfare's havoc dlc came to the xbox one this week and i played it with as open a mind as could be. Let's start with the weapon, the "AE4 directed energy assault rifle" and the "AE4 widowmaker" combined here make for a decent multiplayer weapon, about as good as the peacekeeper from black ops 2 days but nothing to call home about, the maps certainly add a new feelingCall of duty advanced warfare's havoc dlc came to the xbox one this week and i played it with as open a mind as could be. Let's start with the weapon, the "AE4 directed energy assault rifle" and the "AE4 widowmaker" combined here make for a decent multiplayer weapon, about as good as the peacekeeper from black ops 2 days but nothing to call home about, the maps certainly add a new feeling to the whole experience what with the theme park giving a creepy feeling in multiplayer which is quite tough to do, and the mid-game effects in the snowy map "drift" was certainly cool, but again just your normal stuff for the cod multiplayer cash cow, now we'll move on to the real reason people were hyped for this dlc...ZOMBIES. Now i've been a huge fan of zombies ever since world at war and I have a deep love for the story along with all the OG zombie maps, so I was quite excited what with how above average advanced warfare has been so far I thought to myself "hey exo will be just as a above average!" I was right to a degree thankfully. My first complaint is that right off the bat the starting cutscene lags and freezes ruining the vibe of the creepy spooky zombies to come but no worries you can just watch it online. The exo zombies mode has somewhat of the same feeling as the original zombies we've all known to love with buying doors (i refuse to you do it), a mystery box which is now called the 3d printer, as well as upgrades for your exo suit replacing drinks, pretty cool! It also helps sway my opinion that they added new achievements which is a plus for any achievement hunters that get this as they arent balls deep hard and time consuming as the other zombies achievements have been. So now that we have all the pros out of the way lets get to the cons, first off the fact that there is no major easter egg achievement urks me as i'm used to playing late into the night solving puzzles and wanting to know oh so badly what comes next in the zombies storyline! But i'm going to give the benefit of the doubt to slegdehammer games in case there IS an easter egg somewhere in this mode just with no achievement (still a little disappointing okay shut up) but all in all I'll give this dlc a proud 7/10, nothing special with the multiplayer but the exo zombies mode has some great potential for the cod future to come. Good DLC, maps are ordinary, but I have to say the exo zombies was A LOT better than I thought it would be. All in all, good for extreme zombie fans. If you're playing for multiplayer forget it man.

    A strong compilation. [Apr 2015, p.88]
  2. I have never seen satisfying Call of Duty DLC before Havoc: New maps, new weapon and weapon variants and exso zombies mode. Unfortunately, the weapon that comes with DLC needs a bit balancing, and if you don't like CoD: Advanced Warfare, Havoc DLC may not pique your interest.

A good DLC, but the price point is frankly too high.
