Seriously?! How about the title of the game?!?! . People have too much thin skin these days! Big babies! And this guy @Gerald19 is complaining about a thin story and poor pace. How about playing the game longer before coming to a quick conclusion? He also says Randy should be fired and Gearbox should do a diversity hire. Reeeealllllly?! He's the owner, he started Gearbox and he shouldn't be fired. The game is great, you have to give it some time and if you're complaining about it, then you have a negative, bratty agenda. I'm sure one of you is real, and to you, I am genuinly sorry for you. I can honestly say that after beating the game, (mind you I'm not even in the end game which is where grindy loot games get fun) this is the same old borderlands I knew and loved. Which is great. It's exactly what I wanted it to be.

We've experienced minor but no game-breaking bugs. Performance is fine with performance mode on my X, and he hasn't complained on his base Xbox Elite.

On the downside for playing with kids, while you can turn off much of the gore in settings, there is no option to filter the language. I don't think there are f-bombs, but I've heard basically everything else.

This is my first Borderlands experience and on the Xbox One X and it is freaking GORGEOUS. Most of the game runs at a smooth 60 fps in performance mode. There are some big performance drops in later levels, but it didn't affect my gameplay at all.

The graphics, music, guns, levels, everything was awesome. Who seriously gives a crap about story when you have a Diablo like FPS game here? What boggles my mind is that people give this a low scores because of the story, when in fact MOST GAMES HAVE CRAPPY STORIES, ESPECIALLY loot games like these. Sorry, but this is all about the gameplay. And if anyone has even played a recent Nintendo game, they would know those games are basically only about gameplay ever, with little to no story (Mario? Lol)

So if you like addicting gameplay and good voice acting, nonstop action and unlimited lootable items and always upgrading your character, you will love this game. The bonus here imo is the story, because there are tons of cool characters and dialogue and what not.

From a conceptual design standpoint, I don't think Borderlands has ever been better. When it works, the shooting, moving, phase lifting, minion launching and mech-suiting has never been better.
    When it works.

Frame rate is obviously the kicker here. I'm playing on one of the old Xbox Ones and there have been times when my frame rate has dropped between zero and one FPS. I'm saying it's looked like my game has frozen because so many frames were dropped before. It's rough. It made me mad a couple times, but my last few sessions have been better and I hear Gearbox is focusing on fixing performance first. This game isn't totally forgiven for shipping as a game that sometimes turns into a barely interactive slideshow, but the game when it works is so good, it brings it up. There are also the usual Borderlands issues: everyone wants to talk at once so a real story beat will be undercut by a sidequest NPC shouting about how there are still guards outside his window because you drove too close to his quest on the way to your actual destination, enemies will drop and get stuck behind some geometry that makes them harder to find, sentences will run-on. There's also one glitch that has actually been working out for me: sometimes I get multiples of a reward weapon from missions. This means I can share it if my build is better than my teammate's or I can sell one and keep the other. It's been great, but it shouldn't happen. These are small gripes. I haven't encountered anything that "breaks" the game beyond the frame issue.

Now I want to celebrate the things this game gets right.

Creative Gunplay: Borderlands 2 had a zillion skins on guns that all behaved depressingly similarly. Borderlands 3 has a zillion skins for guns that behave in at least a couple dozen different ways. Malwian makes guns that you charge before firing, letting out a massive laser blast. Atlas guns let you paint targets with one projectile for your smart bullets to target with the other. There are guns that have splash damage and leave damaging puddles behind. There are sniper rifles that give you the option to slow your character down, but give you insane shot stability as a tradeoff. For a while, I used a legendary that turned into a brain robot when reloaded that would hunt down and detonate on enemies. The guns are good.

Movement: I feel like everyone's going to touch on this, but sliding, mantling and ground slamming make for a much more fluid combat experience. Enemies move more fluidly too, and their hitboxes are more in line with what you would expect than they were in BL 1 and 2. Also, you can knock enemies back with explosions or shotguns, meaning you can launch enemies over railings then follow them over and ground pound on them. It's great. when you get momentum going in a fight, you feel unstoppable.

Hateable Villains: The Calypso Twins suck. They're obnoxious, insincere, prideful, manipulative and naive all at the same time. They also have a cool look and can actually be kind of funny, or at least, funny things happen around them and they react in a funny way. It's never endearing enough to make me not want to supermurder them for all the wrong they do, but it's entertaining. Tyreen especially gives off the sense that she's actually formidable. This is something Handsome Jack and Forgettable von Steele struggled with. Jack was hateable and charismatic, but when it came time to fight him, it felt like they padded a weakling human enemy's health pool to make the fight longer than .04 seconds. Meanwhile, I had honestly forgotten that Steele was a siren until I started writing this, but Tyreen makes an impression on you with her displays of power and never lets you forget how strong she is for the entire story. I don't think I like the twins better than Jack, but they get some things right that he didn't.

Awe-Inspiring Action Skills: It's never been this hard to choose between the four hunters. This is due mostly to the fact that each hunter is hugely customization. If you like up-close brawling, you might gravitate immediately to Amara with her phase slam, but maybe you what you were actually looking for was a Moze with pneumatic fists attached to each of Iron Bear's arms. Zane can be as much of a long-range sniper as Fl4k or almost as much of a tank as Moze. Everyone's skills have these modular augments that take the 12(ish) base action skills and make them fully customization so no two build need be exactly alike. Oh, and they all nuke the battlefield, too.

In summary, Borderlands 3 exists as the best Borderlands yet, and one of the best shooters ever, somewhere underneath a sewer of performance issues. I've had a ton of fun in spite of them, but they've been impossible to ignore. I strongly recommend the game if you liked the first two, but it's going to try your patience in its current state no matter who you are.

Borderlands 3 is a ton of fun, it's improved in every possible way. It's great to see a sequel change and improved so much. I'm beginning to wonder if games that take too long to produce from earlier versions end up being worse in the long run. I'll admit, first of all, that I never played Borderlands 2, so this is fresh start in the series for me, but I have seen the other versions streamed quite a bit, so I knew what I was getting into, or so I thought.

I generally enjoy shooter-looter games, so this fits into my typical gameplay. I've been playing Destiny for some time, for better or worse, COD, The Division 1 & 2, etc. There are a few things I would define as essential to good gameplay in this genre: 1. Solid gun dynamics 2. Fairly intuitive map navigation 3. Good UI design.

Borderlands fails miserably at all three. Not just one, but all three. The guns are random but aside from small symbols on them that indicate what type of fire they provide, there is no good way to understand what type of gun you're getting or how it will perform. Worse, when you do get a gun you like, even with aim-assist, shooting is imprecise at best. It feels loose and without a good sense of impact.

The map. Atrocious. I'm not sure what savant can navigate this easily but there are not good road markers or lines to follow across complicated maps when driving to your destination. Just a floating diamond that isn't always visible and related to the landscape makes your choice of approach a crap shoot. Mostly you run/drive around like an idiot in the dark, so to speak, until you sort it out, which makes a basic part of gameplay diminish the game itself.

The UI is equally bad. Multiple types of super panels to choose from with endless descriptions with no real guidance on how to make choices. Getting points to level these up takes forever. 1 point per level or so, and there appear to be at least 25 points per panel, and five panels per super to choose from. That doesn't count the clunky way you select and retain guns or bombs.

On top of the basics the storyline is **** You're driven in a fairly linear fashion toward these evil twins without anything but a basic understanding of why they are bad. It's peppered with cut scenes that you cannot skip! It's a game people, not a movie. I'm tired of game designers acting like frustrated movie directors. The interactions are the standard kill an array of bad things until you get to a boss. Kill the boss, stir and repeat. Unbelievably boring.

Overall, for all their faults (and there are many) Destiny and Division 2 lay waste to this game. I didn't even mention the left-stick driving for cars which is super counter-intuitive, the lockin in a character choice (you get to pick one of four and then your'e stuck with that for good without ever being able to try them out), and the plethora of third-grade humor and cardboard characters.

Earlier this year I made the mistake of buying Rage 2. I returned it. Borderlands 3 feels very, very similar to Rage 2 except worse, which would have been hard for me to imagine prior to a few days ago. After 12 hours of gameplay I couldn't take it anymore and deleted the game from my Xbox.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Optimization aside, I believe that Borderlands 3 has brought its A-game, improving in almost every area possible. Story-wise, this is obviously all up to preference, but I found the villains to be entertaining and a threat to our vault haunters, but they definitely don't live up to Handsome Jack. That's not to say that the voice acting isn't incredible, I especially enjoyed Tyreen's voice work. In terms of the shooting mechanics, it's a million times better than Borderlands 2's, and I say this as someone who's spent *HOURS* into that game (Maya mains where you at?). Anyways I played the game on the Xbox One X on performance mode, the best way to play it, and have very few qualms with the performance of the game. The frame-rate was noticeably chugging on Sanctuary, but other than that, a pretty flawless experience for me. Expand

On the other hand, the protagonists are solid for the most part with a few exceptions, though this awkwardness is consistent with their characters past. I played fl4k, who was voiced extremely well.

GAMEPLAY: This game boasts extremely solid and inventive gameplay. The leveling up of enemies forces you to change your play style as weapons you may like become too weak to fight tougher enemies. There is also (obviously) a plethora of not only weapons but also things that make weapons very distinct from one another. Combat never got boring. Fl4k’s skill tree was also very well done, though if you don’t put points into the beast master tree you’ll spend a lot of time trying to keep your pet alive. The added customization of vehicles is also very welcome, as the vehicles cater to very different play styles and different equipment significantly changes how vehicle combat is conducted.

ENVIRONMENT/WORLD: The various worlds you venture to all have very distinct feels to them and are very well done. The different enemies and ways you have to fight them is also very fun, as many enemies do not cross worlds.

REPLAYABILITY: I am just getting to the end game material and it seems fine for the game having just been released. Various multiplayer challenges, true vault hunter, and mayhem mode offer a good amount of, but eventually repetitive, content.

This game is getting review bombed by childish PC Gamers simply because they dont want to use the Epic Games store. Read the negative reviews for this game, for xbox, and you'll see.

I still need to go back because there were missions I missed. Let me say ignore the reviews saying it's the same game or it's just an expansion I can guarentee they haven't played the game. These people are deliberately review bombing it. If they did play it was for 15 minutes and the only planet they saw was Pandora. Pandora is the same planet you play in the first two games but not the same layout, look, feel, or characters in BL3. The only similar thing I found to the first two games is the layout but if it's not broke don't fix it. The layout also is stylized enough to not feel completely like a carbon copy. They did expand upon how much you can upgrade your character and really modify your look to make you stand out. Everything about the game in first 11 hours I played I've honestly enjoyed even more so than the first two games. You can also climb which for actual fans of Borderlands it's a big deal. Pandora had a couple of the same random enemies but most are customized in a way that they do look different. The first couple bosses I fought on Pandora were also a lot of fun and because I'm playing solo it will test you. I don't know how many guns there are but I've yet to find a duplicate just like the first two games. I know people were experiencing bugs but I haven't encountered one and again purchased two days ago so maybe it's been worked out. If your a fan of Borderlands 1 and 2 the 3rd one is definitely worth buying. It's a lot of fun so much so that it easily becomes addictive. If your still unsure rent it at Redbox to see why this game was worth the wait. One thing I will point out is I'm not feeling the two main villains of the game so far. That could easily change though as I continue to play more. Expand

the shooting feels better then the previous titles as well, which is a good thing for a looter "Shooter" (looking at you anthem). the new vault hunters have more personality than previous titles as well. they actually talk, respond and react to the events and NPCs around them. this makes them feel more like actual characters then some half mute puppet.

these improvements come at a cost though; Story is weaker than BL 2's tale. While i feel the twins could have been a compelling antagonistic Duo, the writing fell short. leaving them as more annoying than anything else really. game is short, at least it feels that way. granted, 2 felt like it went on for just a bit too long, but 3 feels short and the fact that you can play through multiple times isn't a good justification for a short story campaign. the menus lag, textures fail to load, and item info panes stay on screen even after your out of the menus. also the button prompts disappear constantly. game doesn't run well any where, but even on my xbox one x in performance mode, the game stutters and drops frames like crazy. the new vault hunters feel a bit lack luster and a few struggle in boss fights as their only viable builds are kill skill based. game feels rushed over all. probably could have gone with another few months of dev and polish time.

if your thinking about buying the game, i'd suggest you wait. give it a month and see if patches fix some of the issues.

You know I waited 7 years to play this game and the only reason I bought a console was to play BL3 and thus far this game has been as bad as Fallout 76. I had the worst experience yesterday and completely ruined my one day off for the week to play and although you sold millions of B3 I don’t care if I’m just 1 in a billion. today i woke up and told myself to stay away and not play BL3 because youd rather patch a loot minion from spawning and reduce the damn loot rate rather than put out a hot fix on whats most important... the bank vault glitch! Im not one to ever ask for reconciliation but you all better make up big time for the players (such as myself) who this happened to. Id rather keep writing in this open ticket than turn on my xbox and play your game... tbh... im not cursing at you, but If a sailor was talking to you, Id tell you that.., “I’m mother **** pissed as **** god dammit!!! BL is the only god damn game I play and i waited 7 years for a weak ass Narrative, tons of glitches (yes my weapons occasionally disappear, yet i still can shoot), 3 worlds that are pretty damn boring and bland to say the least, and moze (the first character i played through with tvhm) is **** and I cant even play mayhem mode 1 with, let alone mayhem mode 3 because her shield and mech mode is so god awful! She stays in mech for at best 5-10 seconds? That damn perk should be like the gunzerker!!! Ultimate fail on your development part!!! With that said... after waiting 7 years and buying hoodies with logo and tons of merch and the ultimate vault game for $100 ive decided not to play your damn game until you reconcile me with some damn amazing legendary max loot, skins, etc and fix your damn game of all the bugs! I’m really mad and butt stallion hurt right now!!! And fyi!!! Id rather you have made tiny tina playable... being a male gamer and seeing all the heroine driven narrative you black balled your best character!!! Nobody gives two **** about mayas death and the new ava siren!!! but 99.9% of your players love tiny tina and you better have a bad ass dlc in your ammunition starring tiny tina and figure out a way to make her even more badass in her bunker because right now borderlands series is sinking and she may be the only thing to save this damn BL3 bummer of a game thus far!!! Send this to your damn creative team... they need to hear the one voice that may save this 7 years of waiting for a thus far **** game of a rant!!! Game is littered with bugs and glitches. An unfinished product that needed more time before release to fix issues. The attempt to produce a solid game is weak at best; recycling the same product as Borderlands 2 but even worse due to all the bugs and glitches. Another hyped AAA game only to be produced as garbage trash soon to be forgotten.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It's an outright tragedy and shame that we waited 7 Years for them to come up with a sequel that resulted in being so incomplete and rampant with lazy story writing and a lack of focus on ANY centralized characters for the majority of the game. Compared to its predecessor, the only improvement that credit can be given is the gun play and the small quality of life improvements such as vaulting over objects, etc.

The icing on the cake for this terrible situation is that the game is very much starving of content. There are far fewer side quests than any of the previous games offered and the only opportunity for character development was thrown into a single side quest for a character nobody wanted or liked. While there are SOME interesting aspects of the story ("The First Vault Hunter", etc.) it doesn't carry enough weight to get you through this drag of a game.

As a fan, I am mourning the loss of a franchise that used to be amazing. I used to be excited to get home and crank up Borderlands 2 and play for hours. Now, I have to force myself to play just to see if anything new is worth playing for. I miss the days of well-written villains as complex characters that you could sympathize with. I miss acknowledgment of each character that was introduced even if they came back from previous games. Hint: Not even Marcus was able to land himself an intro scene and poor Zed is nowhere to be found!

The game did its best to hit all of the flashy high points of graphics and handling, and decided the story was an afterthought. At least, that's what it feels like.

I am mourning, but I am also thankful that I can go back and play Borderlands 2 any time I want and feel refreshed with what the franchise was SUPPOSED to be. Sorry Gearbox, you gave it your best shot (or did you?) but you ultimately focused on the wrong things.

Score of 2 for the improvements to gun play and graphics, etc. -8 for the lack of everything else.

Lets face its, alot of the guns in the game are crap, but also a hell of a lot of them are amazing, It took me a while to get a good inventory built up for myself, but if you just stick with it and grind a little bit you will have fun, for me its almost like materialistic, even though the amazing shield i have and the vast number of guns i have are not real and are all part of a digital thing, i feel some sort of ownership and pride for my collection and i will just go through all them and admire them, no other game has been able to satisfy this weird urge i have to have the best gear and the gear that's highly sought after. The graphics are amazingly well done, the art direction is stellar, especially on a 4k tv, idk how many people worked on the design of each and every weapon but every weapon is different and detailed uniquely, even if its minor, its noticeable when you use it, so much creativity and soul has been put into the art and design of these guns and the feel of every gun has nice impact that makes you feel tactile when shooting! Just the feast your eyes get when the screen flashes gold when you level up and the big text shows up above showing your new level is suppppper satisfying! the fact that when you kill a boss they basically explode with cash and loot and sometimes legendary weapons shoot into the air and then fall to the ground is something of a treat that is seldom given to you in other games. Ever since the first game, i saw potential in the series but i didn't expect it to come this far. The environments are much more vast and different from each other, you never get bored of staying in a world because within the world there's beautiful vistas to travel around in and just explore and find loot and hidden secrets and bosses. The characters are also very well written the little nuance things they will utter is actually funny or clever, even the enemy characters say some hilarious stuff, i remember i killed an enemy once and she said "i soiled myself!!" as she died, little things like that are what makes the moment to moment gameplay very interesting and addicting, But the game is about the guns and man are they amazing, there's a gun that shoots out other guns, there's guns that will talk to you, there's guns from pop culture like the gun from The 5th Element movie, easter eggs galore!!!!, from the ridiculous but clever names of bosses and the indigenous wildlife of the game to the flavor texts of each gun and item, they're really are some good zingers and references from the last decade of pop culture in this game and you will be charmed for sure. Theres a legendary grenade that you can get from a certain creature that you will run across named after a popular Mexican crypto that will drop it if you can kill it that homes in on the nearest enemy when you toss it, and on the flavor text shows just one word "Cabron" which makes me think cmon!! you gotta appreciate the little things! and the effort they put into just a description on a grenade mod, that's not the only clever stuff you will see in the game, they just know how to take jabs at our pop culture past and present, its satire and just damn badass and makes you proud of the times we live in. Get the game and you will be blown away! Expand

The 25th time I killed Captain Haunt (when I completed the Captain Haunt challenge) he dropped 4 legendaries for me- in one drop! I’ve never seen that.

Ok. We were so sure of this game we pre-ordered the big pack that included all the DLC. We thought there was no way Borderlands could go wrong. They had a winning model and a ton of backstory and a million ways to take this game.

    So the good:
Hammerlock's plot in this was fantastic. Lots of fun to play.
The guns are great, the combat system is great. It's a bit weird to change midget's to tink's but ok. The generic enemies are ok. All the sound effects and graphics are lots of fun and satisfying. Overall, the game side of things is what I've rated here. It's a 7, I'm rating high.

    The bad:
The #1 problem with the game is the writing. They butchered a lot of old characters. You see this with Moxxi the most. In Borderland's 2 she was a 'best served cold' businesswoman. She handled her business and did what she liked, but when she went after people you really felt it was deserved. She was someone that you didn't want to cross. But she wasn't cruel and a **** about it. In this game they took her over the line and she becomes really unlikable. I think they were going for her dominatrix-style but they've never met a dominatrix before and just have a really poor understanding of what that is.

She's only one of the many characters who had a personality change. This is pervasive with almost all the returning characters.

The plot plain isn't good. Imagine if someone handed the writing department a bunch of basic character profiles and told them to write from that. That's what it seems has happened here. I agree with the other commenter that the bad guys weren't terrible, they were just more vaguely annoying than actual bad guys you wanted to fight. They lacked an A to Z character development that they did so well with Jack. Where at first they're just fun and evil and then you really want them to die.

Remember in Borderland's 2 (spoilers) where certain characters died? You were sad right? Maybe you cried? You FELT that.

You don't feel anything in this game. Nothing. We laughed at the ending. Not a genuine 'we're enjoying this laugh' but the way you laugh at bad movies. Where it's just so ridiculous you can't believe someone made it. Again, it's the writing. We noticed how rushed it felt and, while we don't know how things went down for the development team, the fact they were running around having fun and wasting time months before this ever came out, and that there were 7 years tells us they had no business rushing the game.

Lots of empty space with nothing to fill it on the maps.

It seems like...not a lot of work went into this. And it's a shame. Because if another one comes out later down the line, I don't know if I'll buy it. I can't recommend it. Even rating it higher than I should.

It's a good game and great fun but it's annoying when you are trying to do some of the missions and then it bugs out on you to where you can't finish the mission.

The best in the series. It's mostly the same as the previous games, but with many quality of life improvements and more generous loot.

It's all that should be wanted from Broderlands and it is what this game offer in a new adventure full of possibilities to evolve and blow up things. Great game when it actually works. Playing on a one X is buggy as anything, co op is almost always bound to crash every hour or so, the game cuts out, graphical glitches, sound glitches and a lot of the achievements are bugged also. Game is solid, but unfortunately is too broken to recommend

The only good about BL3 is it gives the BL Universe the depth it deserves, with a glimpse at planets other than dusty old Pandora.

BL3 overcomplicated the series' renowned "Over a Bazillion Guns" Claim by overflowing each brand with an unnecessary amount of RNG passives and alt-fire modes. While improving on a dated system is usually a good thing, what Gearbox did with BL3 is awful

BL3 overcomplicated the series' renowned "Over a Bazillion Guns" Claim by overflowing each brand with an unnecessary amount of RNG passives and alt-fire modes. While improving on a dated system is usually a good thing, what Gearbox did with BL3 is awful because the system wasn't dated. In fact, it was simplicity with light variety that attracted the series' fans in the first place.

The story is mediocre, but so many people have said that already that I'd just be screaming into the wind, so I'm just going to bring up BL3's miserable voice action. Next to no one, not even the returning VAs, gave good performances. Some gave no effort at all and others overembellished their character's quirks (yes, I'm talking about Claptrap's new VA). A good example of the former is Colleen Clinkenbeard, the voice of Lilith, whose performance was so terribly phoned in that if you listen closely I'm certain you'd be able to hear static from the poor cellphone reception.

I usually review only on the Microsoft store, but quite sadly my negative review was removed suspiciously around the time the game was receiving review bombs from anti-LGBTQ individuals. It's clear that someone, either at 2K or Microsoft. used that situation to not just remove the bombs, but most negative reviews about the game.

Great game! More of what I wanted. I'm glad they kept it to what people wanted from Borderlands and didn't change it too much. Basically just an upgrade from Borderlands 2 which is what everyone I knew wanted.

The Gameplay and the variety of guns are great in Borderlands 3, And it really is fun to play alone and with friends!
The side quests are great and way better than the main ones.
The Main Story is bad, really bad. The Villains are awful! I first thought hey the twins are cool but when I logged in and started playing, I really wanted to stab my eye.
They are annoying, sure. But why do Villains act like Streamers? Why?
The Main Missions are repetitive, and in almost every case you need to talk to the highly glorified Firehawk!
The game mostly ran smoothly on my Xbox one X.

I loved every Vault Hunters skill tree and customization, while customization was outstanding in the Skill Trees more would have been possible.

Verdict: I give it an 8/10, as of 30/08/20, at launch it was not better than a 6/10, but with the many dlcs released and many incoming, it is a good game. Sure, it suffers in its writing, but the entertaining side quests and the awesome gameplay make up for it.

Worst borderlads yet, strongly recommend that you avoid this title, play borderlands 1 or 2 instead, almost same graphics, far better story, and a lot cheaper games.

It certainly has its bugs, but nothing game breaking. Besides that it's probably the best co-op shooter out there.

Expand

Not as good as Borderlands 2 but still good enough for me. Graphics were obviously great but story wise, it fell short of part 2 and the Pre-Sequel. However, overall, I say it is good enough.

The Xbox One version of this game has two widely known, serious technical issues that have still not been fixed by the game’s developer. One issue is that the game causes some Xbox One X consoles to completely shut down at random times (sometimes twice in one hour, sometimes once in a couple of hours). This forces you to power on the console and restart the game. This forces you to power on the console and restart the game. The other technical issue is that the game has very long loading times (especially the initial load screen where Claptrap dances) even when you install the game on an external SSD. The combination of random complete shutdowns and long loading times is extremely annoying. In terms of content, the story is noticeably weaker than Borderlands 2. The menu system is a bit complicated. However, the new characters are cool and fun to play, the weapon variety is impressive, and the gaming mechanics are vastly improved over the previous games. Borderlands 3 may not be clever, but it is very big – and above all else, the source of a vast well of over-the-top shooting fun and mayhem. Be thankful that Gearbox refused to reinvent the franchise just for the sake of it. [Issue#183, p.73]

Rather than trying to latch on to current trends, Borderlands 3 stands confident in the fact that there’s still no other game that does exactly what this series does so well. The sheer creativity and inventiveness presented in its arsenal is hard to match, and while the humor may not be for everyone, it keeps the gameplay in perspective as we’re all just here to have a good time. It isn’t as big of a leap forward as Borderlands 2, but it’s well-refined and there’s a lot to experiment with to keep you coming back for more.

It delivers on its promise and then some, and if you’re someone who enjoys playing video games alone or with friends, and likes having fun whilst doing so, in that respect, Borderlands 3 is perfect.
