I have a hard time finding great local multiplayer games. Not only are they not being made all the time, but a lot of them seem to miss the mark when it comes to engaging gameplay that does not get stale. Boomerang Fu on Xbox One rises above this crowd by providing plenty of options, being easy to pick up, and hard to put down. Add the game’s adorable visuals, and you have a recipe for a local multiplayer game with a lot of staying power.

All in all, Boomerang Fu is undeniably fun for short periods of time. The characters, levels, and music is cute, the surprisingly violent killing is satisfying, and it is definitely worth a laugh or two. It put me in a good mood. I would only struggle to recommend it because of its lack of online play. Cranky Watermelon wants to bring people together, so the timing of this release is the exact opposite of ideal, and most gaming households won’t have enough controllers or players to make up for that.

Three game modes: Free for all, team battle, and "golden boomerang", (whoever holds onto the golden boomerang for the longest time.) Bots are included in all modes as an option.

The characters add to the fun, and the expressions they make when aiming, getting kills or dying are a nice touch. Graphics are clean, the art style choice was perfect.

If you throw your boomerang in a straight line, chances are it’ll fly right back into your hands. I swear I remember a game like that it was a browser game but I just don't remember the name. Making a really good party game is, I think, a lot more difficult than it may appear. It needs to be easy to pick up and get the hang of when you’ve never played it before, but also offer some sense of a developing strategy. I'm serious party games are sacred man it's the most special time that you spending with your friends it's truly hard to make a proper party game cause it need to be easy to pick up. Boomerang Fu features some 30 different battle arenas, all with their own unique quirks. Some have plenty of walls and objects to hide behind, and some are big, open spaces where everyone’s constantly in the potential path of another boomerang. Well let's put jokes to the side it's really fun party game to play and I'm kind of sure that you can have some good time with your friends and foes. Expand
