Apr 17, 2015Blue Estate is surprising in both good and bad ways. On the one hand, it delivers some good action with a surprising amount of cinematic flair. It also shows that the lack of an actual light gun can work quite well. On the other hand, the rather short game can feel too long, and the humor fails at being funny. If you can live with those shortcomings, the game is worth checking out for light gun fans who are jonesing for a new experience.

Official Xbox Magazine UKMar 28, 2015Fun, in a mindless sort of way, but lacks the big set-pieces and the frenetic action that made lightgun games so compelling. At around three hours long, you'd get better value sticking that gun hand up your nostril.[Apr 2015, p.83]

Feb 20, 2015As a rail shooter this is not that bad – granted that you use the surprisingly well working Kinect controls. Artdesign and storytelling on the other leave a lot to be desired.

X-ONE Magazine UKApr 6, 2015Wonky motion controls, repetitive gameplay, poor visuals and misguided humour combine in Blue Estate for a short, sour dose of shooter action. [Issue#122, p.83]
