Rogue-lites are hardly a rare sight these days, but rarely does one catch the eye like this. With its grindy upgrade system and a few minor issues aside, the game consistently bombards its players with fast and frantic play that’s utterly engaging and constantly rewarding. It helps that the whole ordeal not only looks stunning, but sounds magnificent. Black Paradox, moment to moment, is an absolute blast that should not be overlooked.

Black Paradox is an admirable effort on many fronts and a worthy challenge which rewards extended time and effort. It doesn’t quite achieve the compromised balance it attempts to, and often the artistic ambitions get in the way of its many gameplay ambitions. Ironically enough, all of the contrasting visual and gameplay elements in Black Paradox make it a shmup experience that is, quite literally, paradoxical.

Satisfying shoot'em up with rogulike elements that will entertain those who seek an almost classic experience with a twist... That doesn't remain interesting for too long sadly.

Black Paradox has an array of weapons and I enjoyed how obtaining a new weapons is random because it provided a feeling excitement of "what'sBlack Paradox has an array of weapons and I enjoyed how obtaining a new weapons is random because it provided a feeling excitement of "what's next". The shooter genre I am a huge fan of, and it takes a really awful attempt in most cases to disappoint me. Black Paradox certainly offers you a challenge, fun, and stylized experience along with a mostly unforgiving difficulty. I love a challenging shooter that entices you to continue to progress and Black Paradox has accomplished this. You improve the as you play due to the upgrades you obtain during your time playing the game. upgrades are also important in your ability to progress and some of them do require grinding to acquire so expect to spend some quality time with the game. You’ll also experience a few frustrating moments but the responsive controls, fluid shooting elements and funky sound track keep frustration in check with a difficulty you come to expect from a good shooter. The overall content in the game is varied enough and it bring a modern yet very retro presentation to it. I would encourage new gamers and old-school gamers like myself to tackle this challenging yet rewarding experience. Black Paradox is a game thats easy on the pocket and sure to provide you with so many hours of enjoyment. Digerati Distribution hosts a ton of content for Xbox gamers, please keep up the good work. Controls feel very indirect and laggy, variety and enemy formations are below average - overall gameplay isn't convincing at all.

The huge amount of 10/10 reviews gives me strange vibes - even if they are less critical or have no experience in the genre, I doubt many gamers would consider this game to be perfect and flawless.
