The combination of different ways to finish levels gives Birthday of Midnight a fair amount of replayability but I’m now starting to find this all little repetitive without a story to keep me immersed in the world. There are 70 plus levels to complete and this will definitely not hold my attention for that long. This is worth a play if you need a palette cleanser, however if you have GamePass you have many, more engaging choices.

If you want to kill some time or you feel like boosting your Gamerscore, then Birthday of Midnight on Xbox One is a cheap buy that will take up a couple hours of your time. It also comes with a very Halloweeny theme, and a soundtrack that fits the vibe, so it could be a good way to get into that spooky spirit.

Typical of Ratalaika releases this one delivers affordable quality experience with EASY Achievements or Trophies. Perfect for the HalloweenTypical of Ratalaika releases this one delivers affordable quality experience with EASY Achievements or Trophies. Perfect for the Halloween season dark and spooky art style resembling the Game “Limbo” with just BEAUTIFUL music all delivered by Piano. I highly recommend this for fans of puzzling/golf style games. Will give you hours and hours of fun with over 70 levels. Each level has up to three stars to earn based on how many strokes you complete it in. It will challenge you, but the Achievements aren’t difficult to obtain for you Achievement hunters. Expand

This is the fourth entry in Petite Games' series Published by Ratalaika. You play as Midnight, the Fairy, and it's your Birthday! But the story really has no relevance to the game. Using your joystick you aim and adjust the power of your swing, then launch Midnight off into the danger ridden darkness. Your objective is to play some really intricate Mini-Golf, with a square ball. Not to mention having to deal with timing, buzz saws, spikes, pitfalls, lazers, levers and other hazards. There are over 70 levels for you to figure out and conquer, some fairly straight forward, others take a bit of figuring out, and others take fairly precise timing. Unless Mini-Golf trhills you the gameplay can get a bit repetitious, leading to the game needing to be played in bursts for me. The game relies on a fairly solid gravity engine, and you can feel that any real mistakes were your own, not the fault of the layout, or design. The music is relaxing piano, and feels good with the environment most of the time. The environment itself is Dark and Spokky, just right to have come out a bit before Halloween. Creepy eyes and Jack-O-Lantern faces peer at you from the darkness. Overall Birthday of Midnight is a great time passer, the challenge it provides can be just as satisfying as frustrating. Expand
