Biomutant is a very beautiful game to say the least, although it does not contain a dynamic mission system, how does that work then? Well the explanation may be difficult, so let's use an example to simplify the matter:During my visit to one of the areas, the game told me that there were several things to collect in it, so I began to explore it and harvest all that my eyes fell upon it until I arrived at a candy machine, and despite the clarity of my ability to interact with it, it did not respond at all despite my many attempts so that I considered the matter a technical error and proceeded On my way, I am not surprised later that this candy machine was related to a major task that one of the characters needed, evidently if you cannot simply say that you have obtained a piece of candy in advance to simply give it to her, but you need to go back only because the game does not contain a dynamic system in this regard and Unfortunately, this matter was repeated in my play several times, even in side missions, when I was looking for a side leader in a certain area to open one of the hidden vaults, I was not surprised that he was not present at all, so it became clear later that this leader is linked to a side mission again, and believe me when I say that I have not seen a call for this decision. In any way, it only disrupts exploration for you, no more and no less. Discussing the game technically is the most conflicting stage here, although the game is beautiful in appearance, as I mentioned previously, it suffers from many technical and design bugs alike, for example, after you defeat the enemies, moving away from them a short distance will make their bodies disappear and with it the tools that are supposed to be They give it to you, and if you move away from the area in which they were a little while while fighting them, they will not only return their stairs, but they will regain the points of their lives that you have planned to waste all this time! After you finish the game, it will allow you to play New Game +, which will provide you with all the tools that you have gathered in addition to calculating all the side tasks that you have accomplished with returning the main tasks to the zero point again, which is what I see as a great thing had it not been for one troublesome and that you have to return to All the different areas that I visited again because the fast-moving areas have disappeared and I have to go to them again in order to be able to move to them. Good luck, I saved the game before I finished the last mission, which allowed me to return and continue exploring freely, there is a problem with the protective clothing as well. Sometimes, when I was preparing to enter an area containing radiation poisoning with my protective clothing, I found that the percentage of radiation protection that appears on the screen was only thirty some percent, which is pure nonsense, as I was wearing the full shield that gives me 100% protection. Fortunately, when I entered the area, I was not harmed by radiation, meaning that the clothes I was wearing were working, but the apparent rate was not correct at all. This does not mean that Biomutant is a broken or non-playable game, not at all. Although the errors inside it are not few and may become somewhat annoying, they are not enough to spill into the overall experience, in addition to the fact that many of them will be resolved with some future updates.

The age of the game here is like any open world game, and it completely depends on your completion of side tasks or not. I spent at least thirty hours in the game before completing it with the completion of many side quests, but there are still many tasks that I have not completed. To the many areas that I have not visited yet, there is no doubt that the game offers greasy content and with the team behind it consisting of only 20 people, this is an amazing achievement the dev team deserves to be proud on the whole, my experience with Biomutant has been very satisfactory and I quite enjoyed it. Despite all the negatives that need addressed in time, I still think that you should give Biomutant a chance, while it may be full of scratches, It has a gem of beauty, fun and content that will keep you busy for hours on end!. If you love open world games, be sure to head over to the Xbox digital games store and download Biomutant today! You wont be disappointed. I know I wasn't! Expand

Solid RPG with great depth in character creation and leveling. Gear and weapon crafting and modding is really well done and a lot of fun. Combat had real death as well. Traversal and exploration are very zen and chill. Really great game!

My biggest problem however is visibility. A good 3/4 of the game i couldn’t see anything. the day cycle is so fast, i can’t go 5 minutes without it being nighttime. if i fast travel during the day, it’ll be night. if i fast travel at night, it’ll still be night. and don’t get me started on the hot/cold/biohazard/radioactive/apoxia bs. the different environmental hazards are always nice, but not when they make everything a single color, and everything becomes fog. it doesn’t matter how beautiful it is if i can’t see it. Not to also mention the need to have to wait for the NPC to speak in there gibberish language before the narrator starts talking and when he does start talking the narrator refers to everything with childish names. In this review I'll address the major problems from critics. The games story isn't as enticing as one would hope. I can't recall an open world game in recent memory that had a really great story. There isn't a connection to the characters throughout the game because you were just thrust into the world without much backstory. As for the narrator you'll either love or hate him but that was a design choice and I can't hate them for it. In the future I hope they can bring some famous voices to the game like Morgan Freeman or Gabriel Iglesias. The world isn't full of enemies but when you run into them that indicates a point of interest and I prefer it that way. A world full of enemies would leave you unable to compete tasks in my opinion. Speaking of tasks they are repetitive but every game has them plus they lead to more loot. In regards to the sounds of the weapons I think they're fine. It shouldn't have the weapon sounds of fallout because it's not as serious as a fallout game so goofy sounding weapons fit right in. The complaints about how combat is too easy with guns is justified but if you want to knock the game for being too easy with them then just switch to melee or magic. That'll surely raise the difficulty. I don't think enemies variety is an issue because they may be reskinned by they have been given different looks and resistances as well as elemental abilities. This game isn't prefect but it is far from terrible. There are bugs in the game but that's just an industry norm these days. Is it worth $60? It all depends on what you prefer in a game. If you like exploration with a great crafting as well as some combat sprinkled in then I would recommend picking it up today. If you prefer a more action packed open world with a good story then it's not for you. Expand

You can turn the narrator off in the audio settings. This game is a fresh take on the open world genre, and that’s something to really appreciate in this climate where everything’s a remaster or doesn’t live up to expectations. It’s obviously more geared towards young adults so if it’s a bit silly at times or there’s a bunch of hand holding I would expect that’s probably the reason. The vibrant and striking art direction doesn't overshadow a glaring poverty of engaging RPG systems and satisfying exploration.

I played Biomutant with the narrator on and welcomed his Fable-esque commentary, but didn't admire the game's script. Heavy topics like anthropogenic climate change and technological hedonism are lost in a slurry of forgettable dialogue, fetch quests, and cheeky alliterations. At its best, minor philosophical smatterings and the use of whimsical words and names tease and tickle the brain. But overall, the story is uninspired and full of daft exchanges with underwhelming characters.

I found myself motivated to explore Biomutant by its gorgeous environments and emphasis on weapon crafting. The varying biomes scattered across the sprawling map certainly entice player exploration, but the game designers didn't do a very good job guiding players to gain access to tools that make exploration truly enjoyable. For instance, Biomutant has a Breath of the Wild like glider that greatly improves traversal in game, but first the player must unlock it by completing a somewhat elusive quest called "Mirage." The quest felt counterintuitive, and I couldn't understand why the designers decided to hide such a boon to exploration behind a randomly generated side quest. Furthermore, the items needed to enter hazard zones couldn't be more tedious to obtain. But hey, at least the mounts are cute motion modifiers.

Combat is a hodgepodge of familiar formulas used by action games like Devil May Cry, and the Batman series by Rocksteady Studios. It's certainly nothing to write home about, nevertheless fun enough to keep the player leveling up. Excluding mainline boss battles, enemies approach and attack the player in a similar fashion. If it wasn't for variations in the appearance of most enemies, ie shape size and range, combat would be more repetitive than it is already. The rules of engagement and quest lines provide gameplay loops that nostalgically resemble seventh generation game design. Also, puzzles in Biomutant offer little challenge or intrigue, and feel generally child friendly.

I purchased this game in support of a small development team. Unfortunately, after much anticipation, I feel like the game's a big nothing burger. Sure, it has protein, lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, sauce, etc; but with each bite I'm left asking myself, "this is it?" Biomutant is a wonderful concept, but doesn't taste nearly as good as it looks. Perhaps a sequel with better ingredients can deliver the delightfully streamlined post-apocalyptic kung-fu RPG Experiment 101 had promised.

The crafting isn’t overly cumbersome (like other games) and I thought the character design was a little strange but am enjoying playing as a giant mutant rat fighting and shooting things. One of the things that people I think are forgetting is that this game was being developed by a small 15 to 20 person team, not at massive EA undertaking. I played through all 3 Fables so this seems very familiar to me, and I actually dig the narration...you can skip most dialog if you’d rather jump ahead.

Something that may help graphics and resolution issues is turning the in game sharpness option all the way up. It’s kind of hidden in the options menu.

There are so many arpgs out there doing the same boring thing....human gun class....elf sword class, I’m really enjoying see the world from the rat eye very as a rather intelligent rodent of unusual size. I mean a giant rat fighting huge rats with guns and swords....that’s something you have to have a sense of humor about. I shall call this game VerminFable because that defines exactly what it is :)

I am about to conqur the Myriad tribe which is super in the beginning. There are no spoilers in this review. X101 delivered on there promise for a complete game and exciting experience. Most reviews state the world is empty and without action; this is false. Once I started exploring after allowing with one of the two tribes, I have ran into NPC's and battle after battle. I am playing on an Xbox One S and have had some soft and hard crashes, but I believe this to be due to my consoles age. Ark, Diablo, COD and even Fortville crash it on occasion. X10Q did have some missed opportunities with allowing voice acting over a single narrator, but he is not S annoying as most journalists and streamers make him out to be.Comvat Combat ireminds me of the Aekham series blended with Hyrule Warriors and may seem clunky in terms of the latter. The combat system forces seems to respond better to slower input over "button mashing," and can be quite regarding when you land combos right and unlock super wng-fu. The camera can be a bit if a hindrance but, the premise is you are meant to be fluid throughout combat. I think it takes just practice and finding the right rhythm per player. Glitches:  I have obtained the mexhton but cannot spawn it. I do not know if I simple have not obtained proper quest pieces, story progression or this is simply a glitch they did not foresee. The Google and Gnats spawn and work properly, although the Google needs to be leveled to enter harsher waters. I am not there yet. When you modify or craft gear it appears your bioharzard resistant stats decrease and increase as a result. I am not sure if this is a glitch or a subtle strategic mechanic. Currently, there is a glitch if you mutate your physical appearance at a bio-pool, it erases your bio-resistance which X101 has said they are working on patching. While traversing, there are times where you can get stuck in the terrain, but I have been able to jump my way out or my character slides out. Storyline: With either story arch, their are present, although it seems the revenge one currently takes a backseat it seems. The light and dark choices are severely diluted as with most games that promise a good and evil system. I honestly think only Fable did it proper IMO. I would recommend this game to anyone who likes RPG's and even children as it is very comical throughout the game currently. I gave it a 9 out of 10 because it is very complete, because of the current glitches. This is the best release in a few years as someone who fell for AAA titles like 76, Anthem and CyberPunk. Game journalists and streamers are hating on this game way too much. Expand
