Battleships has both a solo campaign and multi-player option. Although the multi-player option works well, we found we were too busy with the AI controlled missions and their various challenges. How often can you say that about a game that has both single and multi-player modes?

A great game which stays true to the original while also innovating by offering a campaign and new ways to destroy ships. Some of the “weapons” are your disposal are quite powerful and significantly change the game.

A good reinvention of the classic battleship game, with the added depth of more tactical options and modes suitable for lone players, group of friends and online play.

A fun and interesting reinvention of the classic battleship game. The new features give strategic depth at every match. Recommended to fans.

The campaign really is the center point of my complaints. Aside from that, the updated rules are fun and add a fresh take to an otherwise simple game.

This is a true classic that doesn't need any presentation, so the question is: how does it work in a digital form? Pretty well, actually, even if the flaws are still the same.

Battleship is a game with fancy graphics and some innovative ideas, but it doesn’t stand out in any aspect. A game for fans only.

Battleship is one of the original board games and has managed to stand the test of time over the years, and now Frima Studio has managed to reinvigorate its core gameplay by adding more strategy than ever.

Battleship was one of my favorite games growing up and one I have many fond memories of, but this game doesn’t quite hit the nail on the head.

Battleship is exactly what you'd expect it to be and whilst Clash at Sea provides a bit more to the game than just playing straight up classic it falls short due to it being, well, rather boring.

The entire point of Battleship is that you are face to face with your opponent and cannot see their ship layout. Relying on good sportsmanship not to peek is an unnecessary complication. In all honesty, I think this game makes more sense on a portable device or mobile phone, both for convenience and the basic logic of the game itself. Even at around $20 AUD, it doesn’t seem worth the expense for a new mode alone.

I feel 15 bucks is a little steep, especially since it doesn't have a great system for local co-op and relies on the trust system. I would recommend getting it on sale for 9 bucks or less.Thankfully I have multiple XB1's and I can play with my family online. At least online we can talk on headsets and no one will be tempted to cheat. Full Review »
