Rehashing 4 maps from Battlefield 3, one even from Battlefield 2, makes for a decent expansion for Battlefield 4 owners. Sadly it's a $15 cost to those without Premium Membership. Electronic Arts and DICE still feel the need to charge us $3 per map when the entire game only costs $60 something that makes me feel like I'm being overcharged. If these four maps were fun for you on Battlefield 3, they'll be just as fun, or more fun, on Battlefield 4. Otherwise you may not be missing a whole lot by skipping the content here. Just be aware that some servers run with DLC exclusively so your options for open servers could narrow some if you decide against any DLC during the life of Battlefield 4. Expand

Probably not the most interesting content to buy separately if you don’t have Premium access, unless you miss so much some of the most famous maps from Battlefield 3. But if you already have Premium, it’s a good start before the main dishes for Battlefield 4.

Second Assault marks another successful map pack for DICE, although one not nearly as sharp as Battlefield 3's marvellous End Game sign-off. Two excellent maps, one decent effort in Metro, and the perfunctory but underwhelming Operation Firestorm are enough to freshen up the rotation, while the new weapons might sate those who've already (somehow) exhausted the 'vanilla' game's already sizeable arsenal.
