A lot of things were carried over from season 1, but a lot of the good was just thrown aside…
I felt that season 1 had a nice balance of batman and Bruce Wayne... here in the enemy within the story is very Bruce Wayne heavy..
So there are no moments of planning and executing like in season one which was probably my favorite part... there is only 1 moment of linking items to events, and there is little to no detective work…
this season is very lazy feeling compared to the first though it does run miles better, for the first time in telltale history I ran into 0 hiccups..
This time it’s a bunch of quick time events with great fighting scenes and dialog choices... this is clearly the final season telltale will be doing with batman so they attempt to go out with a bang and throw as many villains in here as possible..
This is very suicide squad feeling…
and you as Bruce Wayne goes undercover and joins them... this leads to tons of dilemma as the story plays out while you try to protect your code and come off as a bad guy at the same time...
I felt the internal struggle… so the story telling here is actually pretty great... full of twists and turns and dilemmas…
Though I feel like episode 1 and 5 were the only really great moments for the story.. The middle 3 with the whole suicide squad thing going on is just a little too shallow for me... there are interesting characters that you don’t get to spend enough time with.. they just feel a bit wasted… thinking back it’s hard to even remember what happened in those episodes…
Batman The enemy Within is a really solid and good telltale game..
It makes you stop and think… its constantly surprising you… all its missing is emotion and connection to its characters…
I found myself only really connected to the characters from the first season and that’s only because of how great that season did with character development... it carried over to this one..
If you hop in here by the end you’ll feel a connection to no one…
Your enjoyment of this season really does rely on you having played through season 1…
I give Batman: The Enemy Within
    a 7/10

The first two episodes aren't very good. Episode 3 is alright and then the last two episodes are good (even though the final episode ends rather abruptly and is slightly shorter than the others).

Without spoiling too much, there are changes to certain characters from the lore that might prove divisive among fans. But, some of those changes do payoff in my opinion, and lead to some interesting moments you won't see in ANY OTHER Batman game/movie/comic.

The writing is a bit all over the place. This game tries to weave so many choices and interconnecting threads that it will often feel like your choices don't matter as the game forces a single situation after making one of two very different choices. BUT, there are some moments (particularly in the latter half) that are well crafted. But then there's moments of straight up weak writing, that you'd see as beneath Telltale but here it is in multiple episodes.

It is too ambitious though. At times it feels like one or two characters needn't be in this season, which has MANY characters, some returning, some new. Meanwhile, the game does perform slightly better than some of the others, it only crashed on me once and surprisingly there was no stuttering. But again, the gameplay is what you'd expect from a telltale game, with little innovation if any.

One aspect that will likely infuriate some players, is that the game forces you to spend more time playing as Bruce Wayne than Batman. This is mostly episode 3's fault but there was a point inbetween 3 and 4, where it felt like I spent 2 hours straight playing as Bruce.

But probably the worst part about the game, is that *****SPOILERS******* Bruce Wayne's identity becomes known to about half the cast, even if you choose not to tell them. 2 characters learn it almost immediately. And then there's one character whom I wanted to tell it too, but game wouldn't let me, even though it was a character that made plenty of sense too.

No matter how you look at it, season 2 is inferior to the stellar first season. Some fans will still enjoy this entry but as someone who adored the first season, I can't help but feel a let down. The game doesn't live up to Telltale's best, in fact Telltale has been off it's game since after the first Batman season.

I appreciate this being an actual sequel and a big improvement over the first season. Telltale continues to completely flip the Batman franchise on it's head, this time by having you work with the most unlikely allies. During episodes 2-5, I genuinely felt weird and uncomfortable. I was constantly pondering almost every choice.

The villains and their voice acting is incredible, but I

The villains and their voice acting is incredible, but I found Joker’s character arc and voice acting to standout in particular. Minor complaints are that game ends abruptly and the last chapters could have been paced a little better, but I appreciate how gray and vague Batman/Bruce Wayne can be in this season.

The game was pretty much at the same level as the one before this, BUT...the glitches are gone! The story was better (the first game's story was also good). This game is awesome, and I recommend giving it a play through AFTER you play the first game, because this game builds off of the choices you made from the first game. Expand

While I really enjoyed the first one, I do believe this entry took steps in the right direction for a sequel. I am not going to lie, early on I was worried that this wouldn't be as good as the first one, but as I played on I really came to enjoy it a bit more. The gameplay aspects are improved with more involvement in the action scenes (it still is a Telltale game though, so story takes precedence over gameplay). I like the creative direction Telltale took with this plot, from infiltrating villains within (thus the name) and the development of Joker. It was really cool to see the different outcomes that Joker has based on your decisions. It really felt like I had more control over the story this time around. The dynamic between Bruce and Selena will be based on your choices on the first game (and this one as well), so depending on how you view them, your game will follow suit. There were some changes graphically to the character models that enhance them (ex. Selena looks different from Season 1 but not in a bad way). It was also really cool to see more DC characters in this game! I am really looking forward to season 3 (and how Bruce and Selena will be since I said *something very personal* to her on our last scene together as Batman and Cat Woman. Expand

The Enemy Within lets you shape and navigate your way through not only an entire relationship, that being the one with John Doe, but also in the direction and creation of The Joker. When you factor in that the Joker is perhaps almost as iconic as Batman, that Telltale was able to execute this progression at all, let alone imbue it with emotional weight – makes The Enemy Within essential for fans of the caped crusader.
