horrible graphics, confusing story, music that is a straight-up rip off of Mario Odyssey, and 10/10 fake reviews, this game is a mess

I am angry at this game, and it's because it gives me memories of my marriage; the colors, the dancing, and the wonder. I hate it.

Worst game I have ever played. Complete garbage.
Metacritic needs to do something about those bots. This shouldn't be happening.

Midway through the game I got sick and dizzy. Then I read online the game poses a risk for seizures. This game needs recalled immediately.

I have not purchased the full game but I have played the demo of Balan Wonderworld on Xbox One and from that experience, this game isn't good. However, gameplay and graphics wise, are the massive anchors that holds this game back and made not purchase the full game. The game is fundamentally flawed with slow moving character movement and two button gameplay with a side of muddy texture work that ruins the aesthetic that game trying to go for. I thought this was an Xbox One problem since its not as powerful as the PS4 but that console also doesn't look good as well so that could not be a console only issue. There was a part of me that says with this gameplay and the use of two buttons, one of action and changing costumes, this could have been a decent mobile game. If this was released on Android/iOS, I would've game this game a 7-8 and it also fit with Yuji Naka's previous work on mobile. I was left unsatisfied and very upset of how this game's demo left me and seeing how the game came out now and the fundamental flaws still remains, I do not recommend people paying $60 for this game. Amazing gameplay, despite the character's limitation on just running and jumping, the costume ideas are great, but... The optimization for the Xbox Series S is very ROTTEN, if we can call it optimization, as always Square Enix doing a terrible job

Some moron once said that this is a 'spiritual successor' to the classic game Nights Into Dreams. A reason why I bought it in the first place. Plus the drivel that was written on the back cover actually made me sympathise with kiddies who had gone through a rough patch (like me) and were trying to find happiness. Litlle did I know that a). just because Mr Balan (what?!?!?! Balan is also known as cooking fire in some languages!) has a dress sense no slightly like Nights (verging more on the wardrobe of Liberace and Paul Daniels) and b). sob stories are meant to inspire the game, not make you vomit after finding out their true sense, DOES NOT MAKE THIS A TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE OF YESTERYEAR! To add insult to injury, the guys didnt even bother adding an English voice over (or at least subtitles) to the Asian dialogue in the PAL versions! The only saving grace of this CITV cartoon-wannabe is the graphics, and even they are a bit too fruity for kids, never mind adults. Once you complete a level oooohhhhhhhh...you have to endure awful awful AWFUL singalong cutscene in....yes you guessed it..Asian...and if you ever wanted to see farmer Giles twirl around like a skittle in a cringe-worthy attempt to get onto the X factor, well knock yourself out with cutscene 1! I think this is a game made for bery little kiddies, who will have fun at the variety of costumes and their tricks, but beyond that, its nothing to lose your sleep over. In fact, it may aid you falling into sleep...which is the main theme in this it seems. Expand

Balan Wonderworld, even with all of its surface-level faults, is a genuinely charming 3D platformer that is blissfully imaginative both in its artistic presentation and game design.
