If Axis Games can use their Franchise mode as a foundation and build on it moving forward, then we might have something on our hands that could be classed as a valid alternative (but not a competitor) to Madden.

The other mode is Franchise and in fairness, it can be a meaty mode to get your teeth into, featuring three divisions with promotion and relegation along with more typical aspects like playoffs, trading, contracts and salary caps, and even a post-season draft much like the NFL. It can be very rewarding if you are willing to put time and effort into it. There's a ton of customization available in all areas this touch actually makes you feel that your controlling everything for real. Unfortunately there are no licensed teams and I don’t see this as a major problem it may be off-putting for some, but remember this is a very small studio bringing you this game at an affordable price. There are no online components present in the game which is a shame because I think it would’ve benefited the game a lot. That being said I’m very impressed with Axis Football 2019 because you can tell right from the get go that a lot of thought and effort has gone into this game. I thoroughly recommend that you give this game a go. A solid effort from a very small indie studio who I looking forward to many more games to come. Iff you liked last years the improves on the nice foundation from just last year's release. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Gameplay is somehow worse than DFMF, but my, oh my, that deep, Marianas Trench of a franchise mode saves it. You could just sim the game and the immersion is holding up so well. Already leaps and bounds ahead of madden. Small fixes like career stat tracking and a smarter free agency and trade AI would be nice, but this game gets an 8 for its customizable options. Madden has sniffed this type of franchise in 8 years. 8!!! Lack of resources? How about a small team with literal resource limitations putting out the best franchise football game in 7-8 years? Fix the gameplay and added some features and maybe an option of a madden-esque playoff system and I’d buy it for 80 Dollars hands down. Expand
