Axiom Verge stumbles at points along the way to its end, but the journey through Sudra is excellent. The gameplay mechanics are solid and engaging, the story is intriguing, and the graphics will transport players back to a time where similar games ruled the industry.

It is awesome to finally have Axiom Verge on all platforms now, and for those that missed it for some reason, there is simply no excuse anymore. It is an excellent callback to classic titles, while also bringing its own flair and making a stamp on the genre. I cannot recommend it enough. I am disappointed that I waited so long to finally dive deep into its world, but now that I have, I can’t wait to go back.

It's incredibly well-designed, a ton of fun to explore and has its fair share of clever gameplay ideas. If you're a fan of amazing retro titles, this one's worth checking out.

Axiom Verge is a brilliant homage to the 'metroidvania' origins back in the 8-bit and 16-bit eras. Whilst the choice to be so uncompromising in its retro style might not suit everyone, the gameplay in the title remains compelling and manages to maintain that fine balance in the level of difficulty for being challenging for all players without becoming frustrating.

More Metroid than Metroid these days. This is the closest I've seen to the original Metroid/Super Metroid games. Interesting premise for soMore Metroid than Metroid these days. This is the closest I've seen to the original Metroid/Super Metroid games. Interesting premise for so many worlds colliding. On the negative side, this game proves that there is such a thing as too many different guns. Boss battles are a bit frenetic and messy, but that's true to the spirit of the original as well.

Apparently this was developed by one guy. Well done, my man.
