There’s an array of different modes you can race and drift on and I was pleasantly surprised by how much variety each mode had. The gameplay is really fun when played in short bursts and the racing has a nice arcade style feel to it as well as a touch of realism to it every now and then also. Technically the game held up pretty well throughout my time with the game and I was impressed with how tight and responsive the controls were. This game is best enjoyed when played for short periods because it doesn’t take long for it to start getting repetitive. There isn’t much in terms of variety when it comes to the tracks in the game and in the end they basically all played out the same way. The tricks don’t always feel satisfying when landing them and nothing much stands out within them. I’m a big fan of anything ATV and there is a decent selection of ATV game’s available on the Xbox One now, but that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t like to see more variety within. Thankfully I have got more in the form of ATV Drift & Tricks Definitive Edition and while it may not be the best game I’ve ever played in this genre it still does enough to satisfy. The drifting and racing aspects are obviously the most important aspects of a game of this ilk and thankfully I’m pleased to say that they’ve done well with these elements. Unfortunately though the tricks side of the game isn’t as good and for the most part the tricks fail to pack a punch. That being said I didn’t see this as much of an issue and I quickly forgot about it thanks to the variety each different mode has. Despite this variety I would still recommend that you play the game in short periods though because it does get repetetive quite quickly and it isn’t as fun after a while. At the end of the day then ATV Drift & Tricks Definitive Edition is one of them game’s that’s perfect to play every now and then and whilst it may not be perfect it does more than enough to get a thumbs up from me because it’s fun and technically sound.
