While it may seem like an odd pairing on the face of it, Atomicrops blend of farming, rogue-like elements and bullet hell shooter make for one incredibly fun game. Starting from scratch upon death still isn’t my favourite thing in the world, but Atomicrops is definitely one of the better examples of this system.

The combination of genres in Atomicrops is nothing short of clever and its gameplay lends itself well to making it a stand-out indie.

Atomicrops delivers a brutal bullet-hell rogue-like with every design choice intentionally included as part of the overall package. While there are some issues, Atomicrops’ utter uniqueness has won me over.

Atomicrops is an action-packed rogue-like farming simulator crossed with a frenetic twin-stick shooter. It is filled with good humour and some interesting systems, but the perma-death feels a little out of sorts with the idea of growing things.

Atomicrops could have been an amazing roguelike, and I say that wholeheartedly. I usually really like roguelikes for their fast pace and cutthroat nature of them even if I'm not overly skilled at them, but I do quite enjoy them. The lack of focus with gameplay really made this experience difficult unfortunately. Sadly, I'll have to get in my UFO and get transported somewhere else. Until next time, earthlings.

Yes, Farming and fending off radioactive creatures at the same time. You start the game as Lavender, being taught how to farm in the harsh... wherever we are. While learning the ropes, the bombs fall, laying waste to the world as we know it. From there you're dropped into the menu map, a small area to explore, and how you start each run and change to one of your unlocked characters. Armed with what appears to be a plasma rifle, a hoe, and a watering can you are ready to brave the wilds and FARM. You will be doing a lot at one time, you will have to find seeds, gather water, till the land, water plants, fight mutant hordes, plow new farmland, clear weeds, and dodge enemy fire. What's truly impressive is I've had my character, watering, plowing, harvesting, and shooting SIMULTANEOUSLY, so you can get stuff done in the short time you're given before night. When Night falls you will be assaulted by more enemies. You can also continue farming, while you're being attacked if you can dodge well enough. Each time the day passes, you're brought to town to sell your hard-fought crops and spend your hard-earned... Cashews? Well, I guess money does grow on trees here. You can get roses to use for more life, or to flirt with certain NPCs, whom you can marry, and they'll help you defend your farm. Then you return home to do it all over again. Easily the most unique Rouge-Like I've ever player, Gungeon meets Stardew Valley. Fans of Rouge likes should have a blast with this game, those looking more for the farming aspect might not have as much fun here. Full Review »

Crossing rough - like with farming like Stardew Valley was a very bad idea. The game has a terrible and unattractive visual and soundtrack, but also the gameplay is so fast, chaotic and chaotic that it is impossible to play adequately at all.

The question is - why is this game so praised by everyone? My version is as follows - people played for 2 hours or less, did not understand anything, but decided to support the developer. And it needed to be sorted out. I do not recommend anyone to play this, not even with a Game Pass subscription. Glory to Ukraine!
