The 9th century dark ages England settings is just great, supported by a well done graphics and audio. The ambience is incredibly immersive.
As for the gameplay it's an AC formula overall. A huge skill tree and many different abilities make it really fun to play and allow different builds. The combat feels simplistic at the very beginning, but becomes enjoyable later with advanced enemies

8-9/10. I spent nearly 200 hours in this game and absolutely loved it. Lots to do main story, side quests, and plenty of secrets. This game got me back in the AC series. Prepare to have to put in 80 to 100 hours just to complete the main quest line.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is another success in the series. We love that it’s starting to look back at older, more classic elements of the franchise and finding ways to reimplement them in an ever-evolving, fresh feeling new game.

I have bought so many games this year, mostly because there was nothing to do thanks to quarantine. I bought Tony Hawk 1+2 remake, i bought Ghost of Tsushima, i bought 2018 spider-man (it's amazing btw), i refused to buy last of us 2 because how they lied to their fans, that was disgusting. But overall of all these games i have bought this year, i have enjoyed AC Valhalla most.

Really surprised Ubisoft managed to make this. I mean they have had hits before, but after 2019 flop i kinda lost hope, seems i was too quick to judge. Generally it's not nearly as bad some people pretend it to be, i have a feeling these people haven't even tried it. Watching two youtube videos doesn't count. Map is big, there's a lot stuff to do.

Classic AC elements like hidden blade / Hood are back and i'm very happy for that, finally.
Story is from average to actually pretty good. Depends on what quests you do and what choices you make. There's lots of different weapons and hoods.

Digging this game's tone way more than i did with Odyssey. Odyssey was little bit too similar in all places. Everything was bright and colorful. Valhalla is very different in that regard. It has so many different areas and layers, nothing feels same. Even Norway and England look very different, but England in itself has very different looking areas. Game is good so far.

Could i have asked a bit more from this one? Honest answer is, NO. It has so much already, but people who don't explore will never find these things. Their loss.

London was little bit disappointing, other that it has some decent parkour areas, but what wasn't disappointing? Pretty much everything else. Would recommend if you like assassin's creed games.

I'm usually critical with games, specially new ones, but i can't think of anything from AC Valhalla that stood out to me as "horrible or extremely bad". I actually have so much fun with it. There's always something to do or somewhere to go and i love it. I bet people who want games to over quickly will hate that, but they should already know what assassin's creed it. There's way too much negativity on metacritic already, so i will try to be more positive, it's not 10/10 game obviously, but it's like 8.5/10 for sure.

I dont normally give reviews but I felt like I should because I couldn't help but notice a lot of the reviewers I tend to follow on you-tube and this site bash this game and I cant let there voices be the only ones heard. People rave about The Witcher 3 and Red Dead Redemption about how beautiful it is and what a work of art it is. This game is probably the most visually stunning open world game I've ever seen. I couldn't even believe my Xbox 1 X could handle such detail, graphics in such a large area because the game map is massive. Now too some of the bad reviews credit my system couldnt quite handle it at some spots and froze and there were a few glitches but not nearly enough as i thought there would be or that it really even bothered me. If your a fan of The Witcher or Red Dead you will thoroughly enjoy this game. Do not let these youtubers prevent you from playing this amazing game. A lot of the knocks on I've heard is there's too much stuff to do and it gets boring.... well first those things completely cancel each other out so you cant pay attention to those critics. plus this is eventually going to become an MMO, and gamers are constantly crying for more content in there games well this game has a ton of it right now with more already in development. The only thing preventing this game from equaling The Witcher 3 for me is its story. Which isn't bad I'm acually impressed with all the homework they did for this game as all the characters that weren't the pro and antagonist are real people and the way they intertwined history into there own AC narrative wasn't as bad as ive seen it made out to be. Ubisoft is not known for deep engaging storytelling so to bash them for the story is just ignorance on the reviewer, what Ubisoft is known for is making huge expensive AAA games and this one they hit a home run. Not a walk off but a Home run! Expand

This game deserves nothing but praise. Yeah it had some bugs at launch, but what games doesn't. Unlike Bethesta, Ubisoft always cleans their games up. In fact, huge patch is coming tomorrow.

Story is surprisingly good, it almost sucks to bring it out like some BIG thing, but Odyssey's story was too "all over the place" and boring, at least to me. It had way too much pointless filler. Valhalla actually innovates a lot and feels more like Black Flag and Unity in 2020.

How can anyone give this amazing, beautiful Assassin's Creed game 0/10?? It's one of the best in the series, so whoever gives it 0 is clearly not a fan and never has been. I bet these people are just envy that this game gets attention. How tasteless and pathetic someone needs to be to give some good game 0/10 just because they are envy? Well now i'm angry, here's my 10/10, take that.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla isn't a light, fast and pragmatic Viking ship. It's a Titanic, magnificent, massive, and majestic, made to lead players through a 9th-century epic. With enough content to keep players busy for hours and hours, it's not threatened by any iceberg but rather by the weight of its own size. For the most dedicated, this can be a treat, but for many others, it could be a game they'll leave unfinished, living forever in the backlog.

Even with its technical shortcomings on last-generation hardware, it is hard to not call Assassin’s Creed Valhalla an amazing open-world RPG. It’s obvious that Ubisoft did its homework and learned from Origins and Odyssey. Valhalla’s story is one of the best not only in the franchise but in the open-world RPG genre. The world is vast but not laden with empty, pointless space. Combat is addicting, character customization is the best the franchise has ever seen, and the welcome return of composer Jesper Kyd makes for one of last year’s most immersive and satisfying experiences.

Assassin’s Creed brings beautiful English countryside to the masses whilst fixing a lot of the series’ recent missteps. Some genuinely fun and surprising moments with some great writing make for a fun time.
