AC Odyssey was weak, everyone knows it, but Valhalla was solid step back to what made AC games good. People seem to forget that Black Flag had huge open world to explore, so many locations. Only games from now on that deserve to be inspiration for future assassin's creed's are following: AC 4 Black Flag, Unity, some parts of Origins and Valhalla. That's it. I really believe in your company, you have made some great games over the years, please listen to your actual fans, who have supported you for years. Don't listen to small minority who just wants attention and wants to whine about your new games. They don't like anything you have made since 2013, there's absolutely zero reason to listen to them. It's easily one of the best games of 2020, there's not even much competition. Like of the few games that can compete with this (from 2020) is Final Fantasy VII Remake and maybe Doom Eternal, that's literally it. This is just my opinion, just like youtuber Luke Stephens had his opinion. Well he is 100% wrong and has absolutely no idea what he is talking about. There's absolutely no question that i'm bigger AC fan that he could ever dream to be. Calling Valhalla garbage is biggest joke in years. Valhalla is easily better than both Origins and specially Odyssey. Valhalla is first AC game in long time where it has been really interesting to finally explore the open world. You mentioned how interesting pyramids were in Origins, well of course. But here the thing, they were one of the few interesting things about Origins. Most of it was boring empty desert. I don't hate Origins, but it wasn't as interesting as Valhalla. Valhalla has way better story, better character and better open world. You said that England doesn't have landmarks or places to explore. Kidding me? London? Stonehenge? Huge castles? Mountains in Norway? There's so much to explore. Valhalla is easily one of the better designed maps Ubisoft has ever done, just behind Black Flag. There you go. You said that you laugh at people who think Origins is meh, well i laugh at you saying that Valhalla is garbage. There's clearly, very clearly more people who like Valhalla than Origins. Valhalla was biggest PC launch for Ubisoft EVER. It had over 2 million players in launch month alone. Jor Raptor gets 100 000s views on almost every Valhalla video he makes. People very clearly like this game and many have said that they absolutely love Valhalla map designs. Showing your "poll" as some evidence is BS, because most people answered that they haven't even played this game, but you said that people agree with you. Hell no. Thankfully you don't get that many views, so i don't really care that much, but this one video made me write this, because it was just too much nonsense. If you can have your BS opinion, then i have every right to have my opinion about your video and point out false things. I have been Assassin's Creed supporter and fan over 10 years and i very likely like games that you don't even like, because you seem like somebody who hops on hype trains. You know very well that people who whine about new games are just nostalgia nerds who hate every game after AC 3. I have always liked Unity and even Syndicate and i strongly doubt you like them. I consider myself pretty big Assassin's Creed fan, but i actually don't like early games much. They feel outdated and i'm just not enjoying them. My top 3 favorite ac games are 4, Unity and Origins (in that order). I also like Syndicate, but not as much as these three. For past 6 years i have been playing 4, Unity and Origins constantly. I have finished Unity almost each year since 2015.I consider myself pretty big Assassin's Creed fan, but i actually don't like early games much. They feel outdated and i'm just not enjoying them. I have finished Unity almost each year since 2015. I'm also playing 4 constantly, but i haven't finished it as much, because it's way longer game and i love to just free roam there. Now i would say that despite not liking 1,3, Revalations or Rogue (i hate to play as Templar), i would say that absolutely loving later games like 4, Unity, Syndicate and Origins makes me as much Assassin's Creed fan, as someone who only likes first 3.

In fact, i would say i'm bigger fan than these people, because if someone gave up on this series in 2012, then how can you consider yourself a fan? Maybe early fan, but overall if you hate majority of these games, then you are not fan of this series. It's that simple. Why i'm even talking about it is because watching some youtubers making videos "Valhalla disappointed me", "Valhalla is boring" etc, made it very clear that these people were never gonna like Valhalla anyway. No matter what Ubisoft did, these people wouldn't be happy right now and they would still make their videos whining about smallest details that they didn't like.

Instead of enjoying new games for that they are, instead these people want games to be what they want. That's obviously fair, but again, seems like they have ignored this series since 2012. It was so obvious what Valhalla was going to be. How can you be disappointed, when trailers and Ubisoft people on twitter made it very obvious what this game is going to be. Basically no matter what, these people just wanted Valhalla to be this most basic and boring AC Revalations or AC 3 clone and that's all these people want. That's the only AC game they want and if it's not that, then they are going to hate it. That's the sad reality actual AC fans need to live in, where Ubisoft makes great games, but nostalgic people who can't move on are going to hate these games and make their videos. Main problem with these videos is that these people are very clearly trying to manipulate and make other people believe that this game (and other games) suck. While actually problem is not the game, problem is that they just don't like it. Just cause you don't like something, doesn't mean that it's actually bad ya know?

Conclusion : I very much enjoyed Valhalla, it's not perfect, but it's way better than Odyssey was. Story is more interesting than Odyssey's story. It has beautiful graphics, not as good as RDR 2, but still good enough and very modern looking. Combat is fun, main character (male Eivor) is very likable and better than main characters in Origins and Odyssey.

Reason most people play these games i going back in time, not some modern day nonsense. While it plays similarly to Origins and Odyssey, I think people who may have been turned off AC for a while will have something to love with this game, as it is different enough from the previous two to really stand out and shine. I can confidently say that Valhalla is Ubisoft's best Assassin's Creed game in a long time, perhaps since Black Flag. I played a lot of Odyssey and loved it as well, but it never quite felt like an Assassin's Creed game. Valhalla is the end result of Ubisoft almost perfecting the open world RPG formula they began with Origins, as well as a properly balancing the assassin aspect so the series does not lose its identity.

I've put over 60 hours into this game so far and I feel like I've only made it halfway through. Valhalla is huge, but it doesn't feel like its blatantly huge for the sake of being so, similar to how Odyssey was. Instead, Valhalla trims the fat that often made Odyssey feel like a slog to play through. Don't get me wrong, the game is still huge and some people may still find it tough to finish, but side-quests have been replaced with quick and easy world events, icons aren't littered all over the map this time and instead you are forced to really explore to find out what certain areas hold - the game is similarly designed to Far Cry 5 in that sense, where they incentivize players to really explore the worlds they're in rather than making it feel like a checklist of things to do.

The gear system seems to be controversial in this game - the game approaches loot entirely differently to how both Origins and Odyssey did it. A lot of people complained that Odyssey especially felt grindy, so I think that Valhalla's loot system was Ubisoft's response to that. The game has minimal gear, nothing is random and everything is hand-made and put in pre-selected locations to find. Every time you come across an area that has loot (either gear for your character or loot to build your settlement) there is often a puzzle associated with it, further adding more depth to Ubisoft's world rather than just a checklist of things to do.

The game's world is comprised of 4 maps I believe: Norway, eastern England (largest map), Vinland, and Asgard. All of these locations are great and have their own atmosphere to them, they do not feel copy-and-paste, which is what some of the islands in Greece (Odyssey) felt to me. Valhalla's storytelling is centered around its world, which is where it also differs from previous AC games. While there is an overarching plot, each region in England has its own subplot that your character has to solve, and I love it. I had lower expectations for the writing, as Ubisoft's writing was never that great - especially compared to games like RDR2 or The Witcher 3, but Valhalla's story isn't bad - it's not amazing, but it's good; some subplots are great (East Anglia and Sciropescire in particular), and some are pretty uninteresting and bland (Essex comes to mind) but overall, the writing was better than expected.

In total, I think Valhalla is Ubisoft's best attempt at an open-world RPG yet, and they have really learned a lot from creating Origins and Odyssey, it gives me a lot of hope for their upcoming open-world games such as Far Cry 6. The AI is still unfortunately pretty bad - either enemies spot you instantly when they shouldn't be able to, or they are completely blind/deaf - for a 2020 game, I do not think Ubisoft's AI has progressed at all. The world still has certain immersion-breaking moments, I think the wildlife is kind of goofy, hunting missions with NPCs always feels really weird, etc.

Overall, I still think the game is great, and I'd give it an 8 as it has room to improve.

Its like they removed all of the trash loot you weren't gonna use anyway and just left the legendary items you were always gonna hunt down first anyways. The rune system is a great way to tweak the equipment to work toward your style.

The combat feels good, its smoother, more interesting, and more challenging in its variety. The enemy armor / weak point system is a nice change of pace from just increasing the health pool. As for assassination's, as many stated the return of a one hit kill system can make it feel much more like one of the original games.

Why did I only give it an 8 you ask if I like it so much?
    1. My standards are high for a 10, it would have to surprise me and draw to me a a unique way.
    2. Its kind of long, that can get a bit repetitive.
    3. Bugs, nothing game blocking, but I have run into some annoying ones.
    4. UI & Interface, somethings are not explained well or at all. The icons are hard to understand (bear / wolf gear? I had to google to understand what that meant).
    5. Side Quests in open world: I like that they aren't a hand holding experience, but if that's the case we need more NPC interaction to tell us what they need. There are a few interactions where I couldn't tell what was going on.

Finally something good to play before cyberpunk 2077 comes out. 2020 has been so lackluster of decent games, only ones that come to mind are final fantasy vii remake and doom eternal and doom eternal wasn't best imo.

Em cutscene ele fala normal e em batalha ele fala engrossando a voz!

I thought they don't make good games anymore?? Apparently i was wrong, this game made me speechless when i first booted it up. Voice acting, story, open world, graphics, different cities and hidden locations. This game might have best looking water i have seen in any video game ever, because it's kinda my hobby to compare different game's water effects and this one is just absolute top tier.

From graphical standpoint this game is absolute masterclass, they really hit the nail with both Norway and England. This game's soundtrack is one of the most beautiful and relaxing soundtracks i have heard in long time in any video game. Combat is good, cities look interesting enough. There's many places to climb and parkour on. Overall very good.

This game its pretty fun. Best assasin creed and ubisoft game in ages. Of course its not perfect, NPC AI could be better, even in high difficults.... have some glitches here and there but nothing game breaking so far. Overall its a great game. Poeple giving 0 its just free ranting.

Sure ubisoft would patch soon some issues and the game would be better.

People rave about The Witcher 3 and Red Dead Redemption about how beautiful it is and what a work of art it is. This game is probably the most visually stunning open world game I've ever seen. I couldn't even believe my Xbox 1 X could handle such detail, graphics in such a large area because the game map is massive. Now too some of the bad reviews credit my system couldnt quite handle it at some spots and froze and there were a few glitches but not nearly enough as i thought there would be or that it really even bothered me. If your a fan of The Witcher or Red Dead you will thoroughly enjoy this game. Do not let these youtubers prevent you from playing this amazing game. A lot of the knocks on I've heard is there's too much stuff to do and it gets boring.... well first those things completely cancel each other out so you cant pay attention to those critics. plus this is eventually going to become an MMO, and gamers are constantly crying for more content in there games well this game has a ton of it right now with more already in development. The only thing preventing this game from equaling The Witcher 3 for me is its story. Which isn't bad I'm acually impressed with all the homework they did for this game as all the characters that weren't the pro and antagonist are real people and the way they intertwined history into there own AC narrative wasn't as bad as ive seen it made out to be. Ubisoft is not known for deep engaging storytelling so to bash them for the story is just ignorance on the reviewer, what Ubisoft is known for is making huge expensive AAA games and this one they hit a home run. Not a walk off but a Home run! Expand

Absolute killer! I love the feeling of how I played AC back when AC 2 released. A must have for the original fans of the older franchise. Not something I would recommend to the "overpowered godmode" AC we saw in AC oddysey, as this is more of realistic and harder combat, and more adventerous game with more opportunities.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla isn't a light, fast and pragmatic Viking ship. It's a Titanic, magnificent, massive, and majestic, made to lead players through a 9th-century epic. With enough content to keep players busy for hours and hours, it's not threatened by any iceberg but rather by the weight of its own size. For the most dedicated, this can be a treat, but for many others, it could be a game they'll leave unfinished, living forever in the backlog.

Even with its technical shortcomings on last-generation hardware, it is hard to not call Assassin’s Creed Valhalla an amazing open-world RPG. It’s obvious that Ubisoft did its homework and learned from Origins and Odyssey. Valhalla’s story is one of the best not only in the franchise but in the open-world RPG genre. The world is vast but not laden with empty, pointless space. Combat is addicting, character customization is the best the franchise has ever seen, and the welcome return of composer Jesper Kyd makes for one of last year’s most immersive and satisfying experiences.
