It’s a game with so many lovely images that you’d want to capture a photo of. The graphic art is just gorgeous and so are the well-designed characters. I also think the enemies are quite cute and silly in a cartoony way. Lastly, Ary And The Secret Of Seasons is a perfect family-style game for young to old, not too easy or difficult, but just a whole lotta fun.

As a fan of classic 3D platformers, I found Ary and the Secret of Seasons to be a magical and beautiful game and it's great fun, too.

Ary and the Secret of Seasons introduces an interesting "season bubbles" mechanic and a well characterized game world, but fails in providing a compelling story and an interesting gameplay. Many bugs and glitches don't help, either.

Ary and the Secret of Seasons on Xbox One is a game that gives you some good content for an alright price. If you have young ones in the house and you want a good family game that will manage to keep them quiet for a good 10 hours or so, this could be it. If you’re a bit longer in the tooth though, or just want to play through something without issue or constant loading screens, then you may well have to seriously consider things before putting in a purchase.

Ary and the Secret of Seasons is an adventure that mixes platforms, puzzles and battles with great success, but sadly tainted with a multitude of problems and errors that make it difficult to enjoy.

Ary and the Secret of Seasons feels like needed to be worked on just a little longer. There are far too many glaring issues that need to be addressed before I can give someone at least a 'Give er a try' recommendation. I mean, I can't tell you what to do, but I would proceed with a bit of caution while playing through Ary and the Secret of Seasons. It has a fantastic idea at its core, but this one I just can't fully stand behind right now.

Ary And The Secret of Seasons makes for a tough recommendation. There’s a pleasant premise, a decent sense of adventure and a surprising sense of humour nestled underneath the exterior if you search for it. The bamboozling problem for Ary though is that searching for a good time is buried beneath a gloomy fog of presentational flaws that do a service of drawing you out of its pleasant and colourful world, that undercut all the lovely ideas Ary has going for it. There are just too many flaws here to heartily approve Ary to anybody but the most patient and dedicated of players.

A vibrant world full of enjoyable characters and high-quality voice acting take the edge off a game that’s boring at the best of times and broken at the worst.

The seasons are in disarray, meaning that fierce winter winds bellow in place of gentle summer breezes. It’s up to a girl named Ary to restore balance at the behest of a mysterious society, the Guardians of Seasons. Ary and the Secret of Seasons is an action adventure in the tradition of the Zelda franchise. The player is set loose in an open world brimming with side quests, dungeon-like Ruins, and lots of hidden secrets. Thankfully, Ary can manipulate the beautifully detailed environments with Seasonal Spheres in order to progress and uncover those secrets. Seasonal Spheres change the weather around Ary, creating a temporary seasonal dome that alters the immediate environment to its seasonal counterpart. This can open up new pathways, reveal secrets, and even freeze some enemies, turning them into ice blocks you can use to your advantage. Seasonal manipulation is an exciting and novel mechanic that’s implemented impressively throughout the game. During her adventure, Ary will come face to face with whimsical beasts that wish to stop her in her tracks. Combat is simple, revolving around dodges and parries in what are pretty standard sword fights. This is really more of a puzzle and exploration-based game, but fights do work well where they are included. Sadly, at the time of review, the game is still a bit glitchy, with bugs, lag, and slight screen interference dampening the experience. However, this is an otherwise solid and enjoyable action-adventure, with an excellent central mechanic. If you’re a fan of the genre, you could do a lot worse than picking up Ary and the Secret of Seasons. After all, ‘tis always the season for adventure on your Xbox One console. Full Review »
