911 Operator houses an interesting idea but doesn’t back it up with any depth. Sure it may be cool to download a map of your local city and serve as an emergency responder, or take to the campaign to do the same there, but it’s far too repetitive and far too boring to be justified as a solid well rounded experience.

One of the things I really liked about the game is that it allows you to use the map of where you live, and in my opinion this personal touch makes the game stand out quite a bit. Another thing the game does really well is that it has a great variation of unique calls, and some of these calls can be pretty emotional. Whilst the variation in the calls is great I would have liked them to have included more calls, which in turn would have stopped it from becoming repetetive. Even though it becomes repetetive you will still however sink a great deal of hours into the game, and the replay value is definitely high. The replay value is made even higher by the fact that you can play the game in three difficulty settings, and the three difficulty settings also makes the game more accessible to different gamers. My biggest problem with the game was that the text on screen is a little too small at times and this did cause me to make a few mistakes, which was frustrating. Thankfully though the simple methods allow you to get back on track quickly. There isn’t much to say when it comes to the presentation side of the game, and that isn’t a bad thing because this game isn’t about fantastic visuals. I will say however that the sound design has been done well, which is good. At the end of the day 911 Operator surprised me a great deal and the best thing is that it surprised me in a good way. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the game and I didn’t expect the amount of depth the game would have. Don’t get me wrong the game isn’t perfect and it does have a few problems, but these problems are easily forgotten because the game has a lot of plus points. If you like playing something different and enjoyable then I thoroughly recommend that you give 911 Operator a try. Full Review »
