If you want a more mature minecraft this is the game for you- and it has more in depth crafting options and a skill tree/experience/stealth aspect similar to those found in bethesda Fallout or Elder scrolls games. You will not be disappointed- and once you get past the learning curve (hint- press B to load your arrow into the bow) you will be happy with your purchase. Expand

Honestly, this game is a really good game. Simply, it's just a bad port to console. Glitches aside, very great game. Don't listen to most of these people. make your own opinion. Ps. I'm gonna out a 10, even though I'd say it's about a 7 , just to even out the little baby scores

By far the deepest, most detailed, most addicting and challenging zombie game I've ever played! It's pretty much a realistic, better graphic Minecraft on super-roids with way more possibilities. There are so many ways of going about this game and so many decisions to make that no game is ever the same.

By far the deepest, most detailed, most addicting and challenging zombie game I've ever played! It's pretty much a realistic, better graphic Minecraft on super-roids with way more possibilities. There are so many ways of going about this game and so many decisions to make that no game is ever the same.
Do you go for food right away, look for weapons, meds, find a town or city, build a makeshift base right then and there, loot cars to get a motorcycle early, find a cave to mine? For defense do you remodel that beautiful fancy house, a police station, a high rise apt building, grocery store or whatever building? Or build on some roof? Or do you just build your own fort? Or both? And where? In a town or city, out in the woods, on a hill, in a cliff, middle of a lake, underground, under water? Or do you just go nomad?
Because whatever you chose to do first, in 7 days the blood moon comes, then a horde (who hears you and smells you) zeros in on you and puts you and whatever you've constructed to the test. Then every 7 days after they hit you again a little harder until either your base is built to a point to where it's uncrackable, or you're ran out of your demolished base and/or killed so much you can't recover. And do you build a giant moat, a spike heavy base, a many storied base, a base with a lot of fallback shooting positions? Do you like to look and live luxurious by adding beautiful carpet, furniture, flat screen TVs and stuff looted from nice places and using redwood and such, or do you like the gritty wood, concrete, dirt and metal look?
And then there's multiplayer... Now other zombie games people get bored with the zombies and start looting and killing each other. Not this one. The zombies at night and on the 7th days are so terrifying that you want to work together. Trade is fun because of the endless things to trade with. Everyone has something of value to someone. Yes someone will trade your 1000s of clumps of dirt and goldenrod flowers for his flawless sniper rifle. Or just go be someone's slave for a bit! Or get powerful and hire your own! If you get stuck outside after dark people will let you stay the night. And some people make the most awesome bases no doubt.
Now does this game have glitches? Yes. Zombies can clip and do funny things sometimes, and zombie reach is a little far, but these things are so few and miniscule compared to the revolutionary gameplay this game has to offer! Those snobby critic reviews completely miss the big picture. It's about gameplay. I like a game that doesn't hold my hand, doesn't have invisible walls forcing me down a path, and gives me complete freedom to go where I want and do what I want, and have literally everything in the game at my disposal! If a zombies head clips thru my reinforced steel door I won't whine about how the game isn't "polished" enough, I will simply say "hello sir" and blow his head off with my shotgun and collect his bones to make glue.
There is so much more I haven't mentioned from the different biomes, city types, buildings, items to craft, the elaborate skill, perk, level system to the design of your character and clothes you find and choose to wear... but no doubt this game has tons to offer and almost endless replayability. If you like using your brains and creativity to test yourself in a zombie apocalypse then this game is absolutely perfect for you. It's a game ahead of it's time and so addictive and I can't wait to see what they do with this kind of game in the future.

Well, the graphics are pretty poor yes. BUT!!! This is countered by the sheer awesomeness of the games content, its like minecraft meets zombie apocalypse survival horror game.

Honestly i am a huge fan for GRAPHICS but this game is hard to put down... You can build almost anything, scavenge pretty much everything in the game, craft cool weapons and potions and kick zombie butt.

Good fun game overall but does need some work but nothing the less worth the 20 note that it requires from you to purchase this. SOLID 8

Imagine Minecraft & Dying Light had a baby and then give a TON of possibilities....that's how cool this game is.

Imagine Minecraft & Dying Light had a baby and then give a TON of possibilities....that's how cool this game is.

Where i have to start disagreeing, with every complaint from start to finish, is that anyone who's actually paid attention....knows this game is still in "Alpha" stage which means it's an early-release game and you can't judge this game with games that are released in a "finished" stage.

Also, this game is about content and not graphics and, anyone who has played Minecraft, will understand that sometimes content makes the game completely worthwhile.

The reason i disagree with a lot of "low" reviews is that everyone i knew (and i mean EVERYONE) who has been playing these zombie survival games constantly whine about the game (they are currently playing) never having enough creation factor.

This game has it by the TONS.

You start in your underwear, either in a desert, forest, or snow climate and you're given time to craft clothes and find better clothes before it really starts to get to you. You can create everything from medicine to weapons to a mini bike you can roam around in.

And the reality in this game is so well thought out. You can die from hunger, thirst, overheating, freezing, bleeding out, and so many other way.

I've heard people, who claimed to have played this game say "It's too hard for beginners". It's not, you're just a terrible player or you don't get that this game is not "Call of Duty". You have to treat it with a bit of trepidation and you have to watch the rhythms of the zombies so you can time the hits. Even a level 1 player can be a real "killer" if they just pay attention to how it plays.

Plus, this game has "conditions" you can set, before you start so you can make the game easier or harder. I mean, how awesome is that? And it's not just "easy, hard, insane", it's DETAILED stuff you can set to make it a better game experience.

I've heard all the complaints about the mini bike...all falsehoods. %85 of those people are trying to mow-down zombies with the min-bikes and guess what....hitting stuff makes the mini bike break (duh!).

Yes, it's got bugs....it's an Alpha release..it's "supposed" to have bugs. No the graphics are not top-end, but the game content more than makes up for it.

Being an early player on this game is totally worth it because the price on this game, once is gets REALLY solid, might be double what you pay now.

I've been gaming since 1981, seen a lot of good and bad games. I've wrote few reviews because i tend to be overly honest about the good and bad points. However, when you research a game before you play it, know what to expect, then write a bad review about things (or leave certain information out) that are somewhat supposed to be not ready yet...that makes for the worst kind of reviewer (hint, hint Metacritic "in-house" review person).

This game has the potential to be insanely cool by the time it hits the final release stage....if you go to the website and read, there is SOOOOO much coming for this game. If the author decided to give this game a "Fallout 4" mod capability....even the SKY won't be the limit.

    Enjoy!

Good game, I liked the plot that every 7 days a horde is hunting you. It has its flaws but I think nothing serious, as we know this in its alpha version. I would really like to update it to version 14, 15 or 16 that is currently, this would give more rating to the game. Espro with anxieties that they can pertain the update for XBOX ONE. Thank you very much for your support

I want to get something out of the way first. The game looks awful, seriously awful. However, if you can get past the real bad graphics there is an absolute gem of a game to be had. It's a deep, rewarding survival game that just takes a little getting used to.

I want to get something out of the way first. The game looks awful, seriously awful. However, if you can get past the real bad graphics there is an absolute gem of a game to be had. It's a deep, rewarding survival game that just takes a little getting used to.

I bought it in December 2016 in a bundle in the Christmas sale in the Xbox store (along with The Walking Dead Season 1 and 2 telltale games, The Michonne mini-series and some DLC for 7DtD for £14, absolute bargain!) and I immediately installed it, started playing and died very soon after. After respawning, noticing the tutorial and completing it I had a base, some tools, a weapon and I felt like I was ready for the zombie horde. I left my base, headed out and died again.

After a couple of hours of gradually surviving longer before dying, things started to click and I really started to enjoy myself but the real enjoyment came when I fired up the co-op mode with my fiancé and realised how immersive and intense this game really can be. Once she was familiar with the game we begun to explore and before too long we had found a city littered with zombies. Taking them down and looting all the buildings was one minute easy and quiet and the next hectic and intense.

Being a deep RPG survival game ported from the PC it is very menu heavy, which on many occasions (I'm looking at you divinity!) can not translate to a console very well. 7 Days to Die however seems to have nailed it (almost). The use of the shoulder buttons and the analogue clicks make moving from menu to menu and quickly moving items a breeze. It's not all rosie however, controlling the curser with the analogue stick can be awkward to use at times but for me this is a small inconvenience.

Overall I would recommend this game highly. It's immersive, intense and plays brilliantly in couch co-op. Yeah it looks awful and the menu controls can be a bit off but it you can look past these minor problems then you really are in for a treat.

7/10 (it would have been 8/10 but I had to take a point off for the god awful graphics).

I love this game. I can understand why it's not for everyone; it is a bit clunky and the graphics aren't great, but it is very intuitive, easy to understand, can be very challenging or very easy, and has enough enjoyable content to keep you busy for several hours. I would certainly recommend it, but it it not for the graphics junkie.

It is with a heavy heart that I tell you, dear reader, to avoid this game at all costs. It barely qualifies as the sum of the features it claims, and this port was given absolutely zero effort in making it functional for a console audience. Robbing a real “fun pimp” of thirty dollars will provide you with a more satisfying experience in survival horror than this thing will.

With a user interface barely optimized for controllers and a release three years after its initial alpha, it feels that consoles are a mere afterthought of the original vision.

7 Days to Die had the potential to be something impressive but with frequent glitches and game freezes it falls well short of being the game it could so easily be.
