Mar 10, 20172Dark relegates the flatless only on the artistic side, hiding behind its style a deep and satisfying game. Unfortunately in that depth there are some bugs capable of breaking up the game.
-
Mar 10, 20172Dark is a two-sided experience. On one side we get a thrilling atmosphere and a satisfying and compelling stealth-oriented gameplay, while on the other side we get frustrating kid babysitting missions where anything can go wrong. All in all, however, it's an experience every horror stealth games lover should give a chance.

Mar 31, 20172Dark brings a gore setting like we have never seen. A unique game that will captivate a lot of fans of the horror adventures but unfortunately it makes us feel that comes 20 years late.

Mar 23, 2017If you're in the mood for a challenging and dark adventure, you could do worse than 2Dark. The pulpy subject matter and tone are different from the average horror game. The unique perspective and art style actually serve the material quite well, too. Despite the rough edges, horror fans should give 2Dark a chance.

Mar 20, 2017So 2Dark is really a story with two sides; it’s either excelling from its attention to detail, or failing because of its heavy-handedness. I’d love to say that this is a nuanced story that explores the depths and complexities of its subject matter. But really it’s a calloused story surrounded by nuanced and sophisticated gameplay. All in all, 2Dark is a rewarding experience, so long as your leave your sensitivities behind.

Official Xbox Magazine UKApr 15, 2017Simple stealth with a theme you're not likely to forget, but it lacks cohesion and polish. [May 2017, p.90]

Mar 12, 20172Dark is a mildly interesting stealth-horror fusion sadly dragged down by some bizarre narrative and visual decisions.

Apr 3, 20172Dark seems to suffer from an identity crisis, unsure if it’s trying to be more of a stealth game or lean towards horror roots. I was impressed by the very dark and mature subject matter, especially since 2Dark holds nothing back, adding to its atmosphere, but certain design choices seem odd or simply in bad taste. It’s a gritty tale surrounded by average gameplay, and even though it has some serious hindrances, I think that some will find the stealth gameplay engaging and fun, but for the average gamer many of the mechanics behind 2Dark are 2Difficult to deal with.

Apr 21, 2017In order to improve the experience, 2Dark needs a complete rewrite and significant work on its mechanics. There are way too many distractions in the game for it to stand out. Currently it’s poorly designed, narratively shallow, and relies upon cheap shocks instead of crafting a truly compelling game. It’s a shame that a game with so much potential is let down by gimmicks.
