Games Master UKDec 17, 2011Features a hilariously bad English accent. [Jan 2012, p.89]
-
Nov 28, 2011Zombie Apocalypse: Never Die Alone combines simple Gameplay with an homage to Pure Pwnage and it has zombies in it. What more could you want? Fans of either humorous takes on the undead or the Pure Pwnage show will enjoy this one.
-
Oct 25, 2011Developer Backbone nails something few games do -- its co-op actually requires cooperation, even if you're cycling through the four likable characters in single-player.
-
Oct 18, 2011Sadly, infuriating difficulty spikes--exacerbated by unskippable cutscenes and a lack of mid-chapter checkpoints--occasionally lead to frantic, fun-sucking button-mashing, as do moments of what-the-hell's-happening chaos. [Dec 2011, p.78]

Nov 25, 2011"Yet another zombie game" would be the most direct definition of Zombie Apocalypse: Never Die Alone. It offers everything you can expecto from a zombie game: zombies, action and cooperative play. The problem is that it is not that different from other games (and its previous installment), so although it offers fun and entertainment for some hours, it doesn't bring anything actually new.
-
Dec 5, 2011Never Die Alone needed a lot more playtesting by actual humans before it should've been released. There's a lot here to like, but there's also a lot here that seems like any reasonable person would've said something a lot sooner than this.
-
Nov 3, 2011Not a bad game... It just doesn't last long.
-
X-ONE Magazine UKDec 8, 2011If you've got the original, you don't really need to bother. [Issue#79, p.101]
-
Nov 21, 2011A more dynamic and engaging game than the first zombie killer, Never Die Alone upgrades the cooperative aspect and makes sure you enjoy it's disappointingly short duration.
-
Nov 17, 2011Backbone did a good job by implementing gameplay that is obviously meant for four player co-operation. Never Die Alone is quite challenging, requiring a bit of tactical thinking. The last levels will bore you however, because the game is rather monotonous.
-
Oct 26, 2011Zombie Apocalypse 2: Never Die Alone is far from terrible.
-
Jan 2, 2012Should you buy it? Almost certainly not. It's dull and has been done a thousand times before - and most of those attempts are superior.
-
Nov 8, 2011The humor often falls flat when it isn't entirely offensive or grating. Zombies and twin-stick shooters should be a perfect fit, but this game feels more "noob" and less "pwn."
-
Jan 5, 2012Features writing so sophomoric, so unfunny, so stale, so trite, and so unskippable that it all but kills the game underneath.
-
Official Xbox Magazine UKDec 6, 2011A laugh-free and miserable undead slog. [Christmas 2011, p.111]
