In PES6 you can make a sliding tackle and come up with the ball, and the AI has been greatly improved. The passing and shooting have been made harder to master and the players’ movement off the ball is better.
-
Pro Evolution Soccer can once again chant “We are top of the league” thanks to yet another dazzling performance.
-
The best football game available for any format. Period.
-
Owners of an Xbox 360 have a right to feel a little miffed that their version isn't identical to the PS2 but Pro Evo 6 is still top of the table.
-
Pelit (Finland)Looks a little better than the previous incarnations but is mostly quite familiar. The lacking editing possibilities of the 360 version are a disappointment, but the game itself is still as fun as ever. [Dec 2006]

One of the finest soccer games I have played. Everything when playing a match feels fantastic. Scoring goals takes hard work, and when you do you feel as though you really have earned it.

Konami's seminal football game finally makes its way to the Xbox 360, but it doesn't fulfil many next-generation ambitions.
-
BoomtownIf all you want to do is play football with friends then PES will still provide you with everything you need. Just don’t go expecting miracles as it is still very much another evolution in the series, we might have to wait until next year for the revolution.
-
What we have is solid, and refinements could propel it back to glory, but really it's high time we started over from scratch...It's hard not to think that the series has taken a noticeable step backwards at a time when EA's busy taking giant steps with "FIFA."
-
It looks the same, plays the same, feels the same and, praise the lord, actually is the same. Maybe a bit too 'the same' if you've played it every year for the last five years, but still. It'll do.
-
Although the game's presentation is markedly improved, it seems as though we'll have to wait until Pro Evolution Soccer 7 marks its appearance on the PlayStation3 before we really see what Seabass can muster with the next-generation.

games(TM)Given the sports simulations that have decorated 360 so far, there’s an inescapable sense of yearning for what could have been. An evolution is no longer enough. [Dec 2006, p.110]
-
AceGamezA big letdown in many ways - it simply should have been so much better.
-
X-ONE Magazine UKGripes about PES prove a modern-day "Princess and the Pea" story. The general excellence of the game's simulation serves to unduly highlight one measly kilobite of pure devil's armpit. [Issue 13, p.96]
-
While EA’s effort is admirable and the improvement is notable, PES6 just has an undeniable superiority in its depth in gameplay, which will always beat graphical dominance.
