The run-in combos take some momentum out of the game, and some characters are unquestionably lame (cough Stryker cough), but this game still knows how to pack a bloody uppercut. Finish him!
-
A decent game, a faithful port of a fun yet flawed game that longtime fans will love. Others, well, they hate this game.
-
If you have fond memories of this game, and don’t mind the 360’s crappy D-pad, go for it, I guess. Everyone else, you’re better off getting Street Fighter II or, better yet, the latest Mortal Kombat game when it comes out.
-
It is the high point of the Mortal Kombat series by light years, but that just makes it all the more depressing that the Live Arcade port is brought down by so few, but so severe, problems.
-
Frenzied, frustrating and infuriating – but it is also addicting as hell. And while it might not be worth the full asking price of $10, it is a decent port of a solid fighting game from days gone by.
-
There are some people who can play this game and instantly flash back to their arcade-rat days, but even then, UMK3 was never very good, and has aged extraordinarily poorly.
-
A pretty broken game but one that is loaded with entertainment value regardless.
-
While the AI in "SFII" can be difficult, it was never unfair. UMK3 offers no such assurance. [Christmas 2006, p.108]

Official Xbox MagazineMortal Kombat is finally in the Arcade--too bad it's in the form of Ultimate MK3. [Jan. 2007, p.75]
-
360 Gamer Magazine UKFrustrating and cheap when playing against the computer. Once you're online things do get better, but nothing can fix the 360 control pad, which isn't ideal for all but the quick button taping between finishing moves. [Issue 18, p.89]

Jan 31, 2023Blood is cool and edgy, like me. I love dark and edgy games that have a lot of violence. Just like my favorite game of all time, Shadow the Hedgehog.
