Oct 12, 2012Episode 4 dovetails nicely into what is sure to be a hell of a conclusion, and I'm definitely anticipating the end with a level of anxiety that most episodic releases never manage to evoke.

Games Master UKNov 25, 2012A cliff-hanger sets us up for a tearful finale. [Christmas 2012, p.96]

Nov 19, 2012Episode 3 of The Walking Dead finally put interesting characters into a plot that I was actually interested in.. After that, Episode 4 started creating a series of gameplay moments that not only influence the game, but are set up in such a way and smartly enough to influence how the player feels at that moment. While it would have been a better series if they'd had this in place from the beginning, the way that the series has picked up as it nears its conclusion is great, and has me waiting for the end excitedly.

Oct 27, 2012The story of Lee gets even more twists and turns in this second to last episode. It's an action-packed race to the finish, and ends with a cliffhanger that left me on the edge of my seat, yearning for the conclusion to the story.

Oct 19, 2012The Walking Dead: Episode 4: Around Every Corner continues the landmark storytelling of the first three episodes as the situation takes a drastic turn in order to ramp up for the final episode. Fans will not be disappointed.
-
Oct 17, 2012Make no mistake: Telltale has done some amazing things with The Walking Dead, and one episode away from the end it's already a landmark moment in interactive storytelling. I'm just hopeful that with the next series of episodes, the studio is able escape the corners that its experiment with malleable narrative has painted it into.

Oct 13, 2012There is no doubt there are times that Episode 4 does feel a little stale, and frankly the combat sequences do come up short, but at the end of the day fans of the previous three episodes will walk away dying to find out what happens in the final installment to one of the better video game experiences of 2012.
-
Oct 10, 2012Episode 4 builds to a promising series finale, and the writers make sure that the emotional toll of every decision and horrifying experience plagues your psyche. In that, it succeeds by properly laying down all the groundwork for Episode 5. The episode starts off slow, but by the end, lights fire in a worthy cliffhanger. I'm still thinking about it, and it doesn't get much better than that.
-
Oct 15, 2012All of the decisions you've made until now converge at this point, and it's a credit to Telltale that you'll walk away incredibly excited to see how it all ends.
-
Oct 30, 2012The Walking Dead: Episode 4 really makes us crave the season finale of the game show. The story of Lee and Clementine made such a big impact on us, that waiting a month and a half for the finale is a very difficult task at hand.
-
Oct 15, 2012Around Every Corner might not reveal who's on the end of that blasted walkie-talkie, but it ends with such an almighty bang you're bound to return for the final fifth.
-
Oct 11, 2012You get back what you invest into this series. And whilst the story has taken a turn I knew it would, there was a true involvement by the end. I won't lie: it got very emotional.
-
Oct 11, 2012The Walking Dead Episode 4: Around Every Corner is fun and has more action than other episodes, but fewer dramatic decisions and slow plot. Only the end offers gorgeous situations like Episode 3.
-
Oct 11, 2012In any event, The Walking Dead has been one hell of a ride up to this point. Even the less-intense episodes are better than the vast majority of releases in 2012.
-
Oct 10, 2012When the complete series is out there, and The Walking Dead becomes a full game, this fourth episode won't be one to be mocked or tagged as a low point. All the ingredients were successfully implemented, and Telltale doesn't begin to lose the momentum of this engaging story at any point up to the almost enraging cliffhanger. Now all that's left is to wait for the next one.
-
Oct 10, 2012As with top TV shows like Breaking Bad or Mad Men, a merely good chapter of Telltale's Walking Dead game feels like a great chapter of anything else.
-
Oct 9, 2012I really, really don't want to call The Walking Dead: Episode 4 -- Long Road Ahead a filler episode, but that's what it feels like.
-
Oct 12, 2012The newest Walking Dead episode is enjoyably tense, but a more formulaic script and a greater focus on action make Around Every Corner weaker than its predecessors.
-
Oct 11, 2012Being the weakest episode in a series that's been so consistently amazing is hardly massive criticism, though. We'd felt quietly confident about it for a while, but the cliffhanger at the end of Episode 4 leaves us in no doubt: the final episode of is going to be an absolute corker. If you've not started playing, it's time to catch up.
