Gorgeous graphics, excellent sound and score, multilanguage, great levels... Definitely a new fresh air of quality to a series who desperately need it. Although, some minor glitches in cutscenes animation and problems with the camera get this game a little away from perfection, but just a little.

I almost cried when Cynder said “I love you”. That line alone pushed this game’s rating from an 8 to a 9
Other than that, this game is a very satisfying conclusion to a pretty good trilogy.

How is this game scoring so lowly on here? Are you people without heart? Like what Black Eyed Pea sang on that song, Where is the Love? I played this game and it is truely magical, in the truest form of the word. The dragon steals the show with his fire breething capabilities. I have been blogging about games for close to 12 years now and I still find it hard to believe that more games like this arent bean made. The developers really took it up a notch on this one. The blew it outta the park and hit a home run. Its a total touchdown, a goalfest a summer barbecue. My only real problem with it is the lack of 4 player support as this wood have made it into my top 4 best games ever. Anyway, i only rented this game and played it for about 2 hours so the ending may have ruined it completely but the opening cinematic was awesome. Expand

The Legend of Spyro Dawn of The Dragon
Great game held back by things you cant see.
Dawn of the Dragon is a God of War style 3D platforming Action Adventure Game. It tells a great story of love and courage, some pretty awesome quotes to be heard. This is very hack and slash style scaled out linear game. The world is beautiful, and traversing it will bring you back to the ps2 era when

This is very hack and slash style scaled out linear game.
The world is beautiful, and traversing it will bring you back to the ps2 era when 3d platformers ruled the world.
There are hidden collectibles and xp crystals that you can find to upgrade health and magic like in god of war and armor pieces to increase skills and defense. .
With xp that you also get from defeating regular and bonus hidden enemies you can slowly increase each magic skill again much like in God of war.
While I loved the colors and exploring every inch of every chapter in this game as it reminded me of old school open world Nintendo games and even my beloved glover at times, you are weighed down by the other character far too often.
In the beginning of the game it is revealed you are tied together, so sometimes if you want to climb tall cliff sides you have to switch back and forth and make sure the character you aren’t controlling doesn’t get caught on a ledge, you are also annoyingly stopped by invisible walls that shouldn’t be there.
It makes no sense that I can fly higher in the air 20 feet to the right but if I fly back over at the same level im automatically pushed down.. its frustrating, just gives me a horribly unsatisfied feeling in my stomach to get smacked by something I cant see.
Where things get really bad though is with the actual combat.
You can switch back and forth between spyro and cynder or play couch co op with another person.
Both spyro and cynder have 4 different element attacks. Spyros elements are light, cynders elements are dark. Spyro is stronger in health, cynder is stronger in magic.
While spyro clearly is the better character to use, neither of them nor their elemental attacks seem to do enough damage to make combat even the least bit satisfying.
Combat in Dawn of the Dragon drags on forever.
It takes far too long to take down even the simplest of enemies.
To make matters worse your partner seems to do nothing to help, they will throw some punches, but never bring out the elements to speed things up.
If you plan on playing by yourself, prepare for a button mashing grind.
After you’ve got in enough hits you are given the option to basically go super sayain for a couple of seconds and can just slice through practically anything in your way, but it takes way too long to fill up this bar, I probably only used it a handful of times in the 12 hours the game took me to complete.
At times the game had some pretty interesting ideas, you had to use the different elements to progress through levels, this should have been done much more frequently or at the very least used to solve the non existent puzzles.
You wont use your brain much at all in The Legend of Spyro Dawn of The Dragon.
While this game and its combat can feel like a drag, I enjoyed my time enough with the world, its story, platforming and level design enough to still recommend a play through to experience this game, especially if you miss 3d platformers,
Dawn of The Dragon will quench that thirst.
For what it is 3D Platforming Action Adventure: 8.5/10
    Overall: 8/10

This game is absolutely beautiful. Graphics are near realistic in most of the game. I still listen to the soundtrack while I use the laptop. This game was the most amazing thing I have ever played. The only word that can truly describe this game, is magical. Playing this game is like being IN the game, having the adventure yourself. Everything about this game is just right. The game doesn't hold your hand for too long, after you have learned everything you need to know, it lets you go and gives you a chance to do things your own way. Replay value is very high, it never gets boring! Even the cover art is beautiful! This game is everything you could wish for from a Spyro reboot, and more, and the only thing that disappointed me was that it had to end! This game is possibly the best game ever made. Expand

I like story, i like gameplay, i like abillities, but i don't like co-op, is confusing. Homever, if you play alone or with friends, this is great game! With storyline, better than old ones, but with difficulty worse than old ones. Just play and you will see!

By far, this game had a better adventure than the other to LoS games. And the graphics were beautiful in some places,as well as the music being wonderful. Also this game had a couple amazing parts, though they should have kepd this game amazing. Some of the places of the game were terrible and boxy, while other parts were bugged. Yet it doesn't give that the whole game had bad graphics, it was that the graphics varied, and was okay. Sound=3.8 Not much to say, about the music, other than that it was beautiful. The sound effecs were not half bad either, including the made up ones. The only problems though were the voice overs and the minerly bad pitch for the acting. Controls=2.3 May I say that the flying stunk, fighting enemies in air while fighting reaked with odor. Also the ground fighting wasn't great either. Yet some of the controlling sequences wern't all that bad, like how they placed the controls. So the controls still work, but they are rather wonky. performance=3.3 The plot was much better than every other spyro game I knew. Unfortunately most of this game was copied from previous game from the past, and this doesn't include the other spyro games. Plus this game is bugged. Fun Factor=3.5 Yeah I'd say that this game is fun, challenging and adventurous. But this fun fell short due to bugs and hiccups. Bug Factor=1.7 May I say that this game had too many hicups and bugs to be acceptable for the PS3. Seriously, would you want a monster going through a wall without any damage to anything. Well this game still works, but still, It's too bugged. Lasting Appeal=3.1 This game was still fun and all that. And there was a little replay value, when you miss something. But if you didn't like the game It's not worth playing again. Worth buying=3.3 If you are a fan of this game, or you like adventure, or you like having a challenging game. Great, but if you don't fall into that category, then this game is not worth getting right now. Yet I must say, this game was kinda fun to play. So I ended up liking the game, but it was still having some problems that could go in you're way. Expand

I love this game, and I hate it.

The beginning is awesome. Some truly amazing scenes, and flying down a waterfall with some beautifully scored music to land and burn some enemies was awesome. But, later on... the game starts to forget what it is. You'll spend 5 - 10 minutes fighting hordes of seemingly endless, identical monsters. Your fingers will start to hurt from button mashing, and

I grabbed this title new for $10 bucks from superstore. If you can get the same deal, go for it - it's a great buy.

One of the best examples of "animal fantasy". The graphics is good, characters is lovely, controls and plot is fine. Not without gimmicks, but if you play it long enough and overcome them -- you will love this game. This game of action-platforming set in animal fantasy world literally have no alternatives.

  1. Unfortunately, a video game’s success primarily comes down to the quality of the gameplay, and Dawn of the Dragon felt clunky and unpolished through the majority of my time playing it.
  2. The combat grows repetitive, but the various power-ups, including fire and electricity, are awesome.
  3. Ultimately, The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon is a well put-together platformer, especially for younger gamers.
