This game best suits people who grew up in a time when they were surrounded by Mortal Kombat, SFII, Sonic and Killer Instinct. When there was a sense that a game was difficult to master, and that time was needed to attain perfection. When a score mattered The current generation of players are spoon fed dribble, hand-held with health metres, shields and auto-aim. The skill factor has gone. When a score mattered The current generation of players are spoon fed dribble, hand-held with health metres, shields and auto-aim. The skill factor has gone. Anyone can sniper someone Halo 3, everyone can clock COD4 and Halo 3. It's almost impossible not to clock Bioshock. Games these days are made to be clocked and then forgetton. They only live in the form of online multiplayer - and even that gets boring. If you want a storybased game - Half Life 2 If you want a realism - COD4 If you want to be bored - Halo 3 If you really want to test your skills - Alien Hominid If you want to test your skills, and test your skills and replay - The Club The replay value on this gem is incredible. Just one stage can hold you back until you reached a point where you cannot squeeze any more points out of the game. The highest difficulty levels are awesome, always a challenge. I've been a gamer for a long time, I've played pretty much everything, obscure or well promoted. The reviews for The Club are biased, this is a different kind of game. A game to test your skills. Just like SFII, Virtua Fighter and Gears of War. It's basically Gears of War meets Virtua cop meets Killer instinct. It's fast and frantic. The most important part of it all, is that you will replay stages that you have just passed, over and over... The most important part of a successful game is that it's addictive. Bioshock had a great story line but I never want to play it again after the first experience. Never go off just reviews. They are biased and paid for in most cases. Always play the demo and look at what actual players said. The Club is fast, accessible and hard to master. I highly recommend this for real gamers. I've been waiting for something like this for ages. I can't wait for GOW2. 9/10 Expand

A very entertaining arcade shooter, no discernible plot but it certainly is fun, think brink but third person with less polish. The game controls well except for the painfully slow movement when you need to do a 360 turn and the terrible melee system. Stylized graphics mean it doesn't look dated.
I thoroughly enjoyed playing through the game and can see the appeal in trying to improve on

I thoroughly enjoyed playing through the game and can see the appeal in trying to improve on your scores and work through the different difficulties, but personally I have a lot of better story driven games still in need of playing so this one is being retired.

We have reached a new height in gaming, for the 360 in this generation, so i will say that this is unacceptable, i can't believe someone would create a game on time based, mindless shooting, with no real advance in gaming. I loved Dead To Rights, because it had style(disarms,slow-mo), and was just the arcade feel i wanted. But this, my god, this is horrid, It's like you buy a basketball game, bring it home and find out all there is, is a practice mode. It's that bad, like Bizarre Creations made a guy shoot and put a time and mindless enemys on it and blam, a game. The critics went way too high on this one. I can't believe, i start the game, run, shoot a guy, get head shot, and move on. The stages are like alleyways, terrible, small and boring, the guns are stale and fire stupid, the charaters are plain and blank, there's no story, no, style. Picture Gears of War, now take out the lush background, the deadly AI, the great sound, and the wonderful controls, what you get is The Club. I understand the old school gamer feel, but please, put extras, put offline co-op, put mini-games, anything to sell this game, beyound the "shoot guy, run fast". I have a 360, not an Arcade, i want to be able to sit and experience my game, not hurry through it as fast as you can. MK, Street Fighter, and Sonic all did things to forward gaming in a massive way. This game just wants your money! Expand

This game is your pure straight-and-out shoot-em-up. Lots of hypens in there. The challenges can get sorta hard, and the game can definately get repetitive, but it really brings me back to the days of Smash TV, or Loaded for the Playstation 1. I think it was worth the money, but if you don't have a good job, or you are tight on money, waiting for a price drop isn't a bad plan. This game is your pure straight-and-out shoot-em-up. And VERY solid multiplayer; haven't seen lag yet, animations are smooth, and gun fights are crazy... but again, it's very straight forward, not real cover system... just shooting. Expand

The Club is a pretty solid game. It's quite entertaining, graphically very nice, and has a wicked fun online experience. I can't say that anything about it is pretty revolutionary, and the story is borderline non-existent, but if you're looking for a fun game that's a little bit different, give this a shot.

Overall The Club is a one trick pony and not worth the 60 bucks . It is fun for up to four hours, after that you may want a bit more depth for the buck!

Excellent shooter, great handling, like CoD4, so it offers a nice 2nd game when you get tired of CoD4. 1 on 1 is SUBERB! Split screen on a big tv makes is good to play, loads of fun NO STORY that is the nice thing about this game....

I finished this game in a couple of hours. Definately worth a rental, but make sure it's only one night! Very disappointing.

This game isn't bad, but it isn't good either. Forgettable characters, no real story line, just a shooting competition. No multiplayer. Replayability isn't there, stay away from this game. I love shooters and this one is different, but sometimes different doesn't equate to good.

A very original take on shooters. An addictive arcade-style blast for score junkies. [Feb 2008, p.66]
  2. It's a one-trick pony, true. Yet does that even matter when the trick is this damn good? Of course it doesn't. Just buckle up, enjoy the ride and hang on for your life. [Feb 2008, p.92]

You may love it, you may hate it, but for those with the skill and dedication, it's a shooter like no other. [Feb 2008, p.72]
