Missing levels! and music, and has changes for the worse. It is an unforgivable, unfinished remake.

On my first play of the game, I loved it but felt it was way too short. I went in to this game with no nostalgia, so people with fond memories might feel differently. Unfortunately, the gameplay is much to bland for me to recommend. You go forward and press X. 1 hour later, you win. Co-op sounds like it would be fun, but somehow ends up being worse than single-player. The screen becomes a hideous jumbled mess from which no enjoyment is found. The game is a I went in to this game with no nostalgia, so people with fond memories might feel differently. I've always enjoyed the Turtles in Time Arcade, SNES port and even the Genesis scaled down port over the years and here we are again with another version of that timeless classic. For I've always enjoyed the Turtles in Time Arcade, SNES port and even the Genesis scaled down port over the years and here we are again with another version of that timeless classic. TMNT: Turtles in Time Re-shelled. When I first heard the announcement of this game I was really excited. CAM videos were soon posted online showing the ingame action and it looked pretty impressive. For those wondering, this port is closer to the Arcade rather than the SNES version which had extra stages. So how does it fair up in the end? Graphics: The Singapore Konami studio has done a great job with the graphics. Although it's a matter of opinion on whether you like the old 80's slapstick turtle look or new serious look. Everything is nice and clean and the animation is all top notch for everything onscreen. Sound: Voices are great. The turtles and the announcers voices and sound effects are clear and free of static as you should expect from a new game. Music however is unfortunately bland. The tunes have been remixed but lack the serious excitement and fun that the original Arcade soundtrack had. I'm not sure who was in charge of music but they honestly get a FAIL in my books. Sorry. Gameplay: The game plays great and is just as easy to control as the original arcade was. You'll notice though that you get a bit of a different feel than you would playing the original. This might be because some of the animation from the original isn't as smooth looking as this game. Still though no gripes in this department. Lasting appeal: Since I only downloaded this game this morning, I only was able to try out the first 3 levels. However there's plent of achievements to unlock and with the fact that this game supports 4 player co-op I'm sure this'll be one of those titles that you can keep going back to again and again. Overall: Konami Singapore did a great job with this game. It breathes new life into a classic arcade game that many of us enjoyed in the late 80's - early 90's and allows younger players who're new to the franchise to enjoy it with the turtles they're familiar with today. Overall 8/10. Expand

They updated the graphics but they didnt do anything else. I believe Battlefield 1943 should have been included in the summer of arcade roster instead of this game. I cant believe i wasted 800 points on this mediocre title. Shame on Ubisoft for attempting to sell this game originally for 1200 points. I would recommend Reshelled only for fans of the old game. There isn't enough newness to it, and in many ways it's worse than the original. There's no solid replay value. Turtles! This is such a cool blast from the past. The second I started playing this is brought back memories of me and my friends meeting up weekends and after to school to drop quarters and play the day away. The great graphics don't do enough to bring up the old and broken gameplay. It's literally smash buttons. That's it, that's as deep as the gameplay goes. In addition the controls in my opinion are clunky and don't server the game well. The final boss comes down to, "do you have enough lives to beat him?" Boring. Even my five year old thinks this game sucks.

A significant part of what made the original game so terrific was the soundtrack. It was the perfect compliment to the gameplay. The new soundtrack is hardly improved and is lackluster at best. The music was one thing that should not have been "Re-Shelled."

Don't listen to the negative critic reviews; TMNT's a blast. Same classic gameplay as the aracde original with updated HD graphics, 4 player online, and new game modes. And you can save your progress and return to the stage you left on.

Nostalgia is back with TMNT Reshelled. The game looks awesome, with nice OST, though is not the original, it's still good. The only thing that i didn't like is the fact that they didn't include anything new, they just adapted the game to the new 3d era.

Terrible remake. They removed all the great music (didn't even remix it!), removed all the great battle quotes, changed the fighting engine for the worse (special attacks don't even drain health now), and made numerous other changes that ruin the experience. They didn't even bother to balance this out by offering new content, more moves, making the turtles more unique, etc. Terrible remake. Having disappeared from both XBL and PSN, this is a fairly rare gem from a few years back that, while never living up to the name of its wonderful previous version, holds its own for the most part.
The most obvious problem is the fact that this is not the same game from the old days. Yes, its a 3D remake of one of the best side-scrolling beat-em-ups ever made but it doesn't hold a candle

Yes, its a 3D remake of one of the best side-scrolling beat-em-ups ever made but it doesn't hold a candle to the classic Turtles in Time from the SNES days. The 3D leaves alot to be desired and the game just doesn't feel right. I really wish they had just re-released the original game and been done with it as the remake is not a good way to show the kids of today what a wonderful game the original was.
This game does still have a bit of the charm from the original and they were at least able to give each individual turtle a different ability to let them stand out. I'm glad this game was made as it gives us at least some kind of ability to play this on the 360. But the original is what we wanted and we were not given that. A disappointment to be sure but not without some merit.

A really good game that is fun to play with friends. It was well worth a purchase until they took it off the store. For those that did get it while it was around, it's a nice throw back to gamings golden days.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

This shallow, generic brawler is coasting on nostalgia fumes and the TMNT brand. Ubisoft didn't ruin the original arcade game; it just didn't do enough with it. Virtually nothing has been added to the gameplay, so you're paying a premium for updated graphics you may not even like.
  3. This is what it is and nothing more: a good remake. It's too simple compared to other beat 'em ups like Castle Crashers, but it also reminds us of those times when we shouted cowabunga when playing our favourite SNES game.
