Aug 29, 2011Ultimately, Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition is a super-sized character expansion pack to an already impressive game. For 1,200 MSP ($15 USD), you're getting four new characters, a slew of balance changes and some tweaks to the online experience. It's not a revolution in play, but if you've already mastered Super Street Fighter IV, it does make the experience fresh again.
-
Jun 29, 2011If this is your first time considering a shot at Street Fighter, grab this as a $40 retail package, and if you have SSFIV lying around, I think the fifteen bucks to get online and get competitive again is a great idea too.
-
Jun 24, 2011As I said earlier, Arcade Edition is the finest outing of the series. Capcom have said that this third edition of the game is to be its final outing which, is both a relief and a shame.
-
Jun 28, 2011I'm glad Capcom released the Arcade Edition and gave buyers a choice to get it via DLC or the full retail release ($15, $40). For avid Street Fighters, this is a solid purchase, but everyone else can do just as well holding out for a price cut.
-
Jun 28, 2011AE is fun, but just doesn't have a whole lot of staying power.
-
Jun 19, 2011Explosive combos, moody settings, brutal fights.
-
Jun 17, 2011Street Fighter IV's Arcade Edition refines and balances the formula from one of the best fighting games.
-
Oct 5, 2011SSFIV: Arcade Edition brings everything that previous iterations have brought to the table, but with four new characters and some tweaks to the gameplay. Hardcore fighting fans will salivate, but casual fans will wonder.
-
Games Master UKJul 25, 2011A missable update, even for fans. [Sept 2011, p.87]
-
Xbox World 360 Magazine UKJul 13, 2011Essential for committed fans, but a few curious omissions make Arcade Edition an incomplete update. [Sept 2011, p.110]
-
Jul 4, 2011A small, but really interesting update to a modern fighting game classic. There's a lot of fighters to play with now, so get to it!
-
Jun 30, 2011Best suited for someone who's never played Street Fighter.
-
Jun 27, 2011If you are a fan of the series and already have the Super Street Fighter IV version, you should buy this content.
-
Jun 23, 2011Capcom enhances again its blockbuster, although perhaps the new features are not worth the price. If you have not played the previous SF4 versions, this is the best chance to try the return of the classic fighter.
-
Jun 20, 2011If you're a hardcore Street Fighter IV fan, you obviously have to purchase this Arcade Edition in order to enjoy the latest changes of your favorite game. But some details suggest that Capcom didn't really finish its job. It's a shame, even though their game remains a reference for the genre. For more casual fighters, the bugs and balance issues we're referring to won't be really apparent, but in order to save a little money, if they didn't already fell for the regular and Super editions, they'd be well advised to wait for the boxed version - because clearly, this DLC Arcade Edition remains a little expensive as is.
-
Jun 17, 2011Despite its price, fan soundln't miss this DLC. Yes, it's just forur new characters, but the gameplay is completely different, and the pros will feel like playing a brand new game.
-
Jun 17, 2011Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition is a great DLC for every professionist of this fighting game, but the lack of some important elements is a shame. Capcom has done a good job, but Ark System Works was way more honest with the BlazBlue: Continuum Shift DLC.
-
Jun 17, 2011Here comes the definitive version of Street Fighter IV. The jump of Arcade Edition is not as big as the jump from the original version to Super, but it's still a great content to keep exploring the joys of this fighting classic (and a great chance to catch up if you want this on PC.)
-
Jun 15, 2011So Arcade Edition is exactly what it appears to be: a tempered update that lacks the immediate wow factor of its predecessor, but offers an extra layer of refinement on an already winning formula.
-
Jun 6, 2011While Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition is a complete and solid game, the types of updates and outright lack of change in the production (we couldn't even get a new theme song or stages?) might not make the casual fans impulsively buy this update. Even $15 is a bit steep for features you might not use, and the $40 retail disk isn't a terrific option when Super Street Fighter IV retails anywhere from $10 to $30, depending on where you're buying it from.
-
Jun 6, 2011The changes in Super Street Fighter IV's Arcade Edition aren't extraordinary, but serve to further refine and balance one of the best fighting games in existence.
-
Jun 6, 2011In its own right this is StreetFighter, which is a cracking game for casuals and at tournament level and will continue to be so for years to come.
-
Jun 6, 2011If you are one of those players that takes their tournament stick around the country and competes against the best, you'll undoubtedly want Arcade Edition in your collection. However, it's harder to recommend if you're on the more casual end.
-
Jul 20, 2011For new players, Super Street Fighter IV - Arcade Edition is a great game to enter the world of Street Fighter. The casual gamer won't find much fun in this new arcade edition but the fighting fans will have the time of their life!
-
Jul 2, 2011Arcade Edition is the most comprehensive version of Street Fighter IV released to date, and an essential buy for fans who don't already have Super Street Fighter IV.
-
Jun 28, 2011Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition offers enough new content to warrant the fifteen dollars. But even with four new characters and some exciting online modes, I still wish there was more to this expansion pack. Die-hard fans will love it, but I suspect most people are ready to move on to the next Street Fighter game!
-
Jun 15, 2011The game expands one of the best fighting games ever, with a new balance and four new characters. That said, it remains a DLV dedicated to the biggest fans of the series.
-
Jun 14, 2011Quotation forthcoming.
-
Jun 22, 2011I'd even go as far to say that most hardcore players will find this expansion a little lacking with only 4 new characters and a rebalancing structure that hinders more than it helps.
-
Jul 1, 2011Honestly, the level of enjoyment you'll get out of the game will largely depend on which character you play. If the character you play is now one of the stronger fighters on the roster, then you'll most likely have a blast steamrolling the competition.
-
Jun 8, 2011If you're still playing SSF4 online, AE is a no-brainer, and the de facto new standard for the game, for better or for worse. If you're looking for any kind of single player content or a chance to get your foot in the door though, you can safely pass on this update.
-
Jun 7, 2011It's a small update that you could live without despite its $15 digital price tag. As a value proposition at $40, it's a laugh unless you missed out SSF4, which is easily one of the brightest and sharpest fighting games in the recent past.
