Apr 17, 2011It may not be anything particularly extraordinary or hardcore, but Starnia is an entertaining shooting package that succeeds at providing a uniquely fresh shooting experience. It offers an interesting mix of traditional shmup conventions and modern game design innovations.

games(TM)Jul 3, 2011Though retro in style, Strania certainly isn't without original ideas. [Issue#110, p.127]
-
May 16, 2011Strania is yet another example that old formulas, if updated, can still work and be enjoyed by every gamer.
-
Apr 15, 2011If Duæl Invaders is designed as a confidence booster, then Strania is here to remind us that, deep down, we're all pathetic narcissists that need taking down a peg or two.
-
Apr 11, 2011A decent shoot em up with varied levels and a fun weapons system.
-
Apr 11, 2011Strania has its hands deep in the ashes of fourth generation consoles – it feels warm and welcoming but lacks the innovation and punch of current titles, and by aiming for a core fan-base alienates itself from the wider audience.

Apr 26, 2011The survivors of the '80s with a lust for vertical scrolling shooters and a friend available could enjoy some afternoons of moderate fun. Everybody else should think twice before put the credit's card wheels in motion because there is really nothing new under the sun for this genre.
-
Apr 11, 2011An overabundance of weaponry gets in the way of the killing in this intense shooter.
-
Apr 1, 2011A nostalgic old school effort from developer G.rev. Nice graphic for a Live Arcade title, but this little shooter is rather short and pretty hard to beat.
-
May 26, 2011Strania isn't horrible, but its garden-variety blasting is too many light years away from memorable. [July 2011, p.77]

Apr 14, 2011This one just fell flat. It uses an outdated weapon changing system that's more annoying than useful, doesn't do enough to engage the player in combat, and feels unfinished.
