    By moving the entertaining zombie survival antics from a hicktown to the big city city, State of Decay practically evolves into a new game. No improvement on technical aspects, though - textures are ugly and those zombies "hordes" are a joke. The lack of co-op doesn't help. [Aug 2014]

    Despite its bugs and AI issues, Lifeline is a welcome addition to State of Decay. It builds on the canon already created and adds some very good features which would be amazing in the main game (hint hint). And whilst rather short, there is definite replayability to Lifeline as you never how things are going to turn out.

Also, the fact that you have about two thirds of the map cordoned off ruins the experience. Overall, I guess the fun is still there, but it just doesn't feel the same.… Expand

Scavenging and exploring is constricted heavily by the map layout— offering little time for either, before beckoning the player back to the base for the next round of tower defense. This element offers little sense of accomplishment once the base is properly established with sufficient manpower and weapons.

    The aspects of SoD I found appealing and addictive, were almost surgically removed in this DLC.    … Expand

    I'm writing this as a HUGE fan of State of Decay. One of my favorite games. Sadly Lifeline is just too difficult to enjoy. It's bugginessI'm writing this as a HUGE fan of State of Decay. One of my favorite games. Sadly Lifeline is just too difficult to enjoy. It's bugginess prevents full exploration and constant, unfulfillable, quests prevents you from exploring a really cool new world. If the difficulty was dialed back 30-25% and the time between auto-prompt quests lengthened it could be great. There's no room to enjoy and see every part. I know the intensity is a 'feature' but in reality it's just annoying. There are zombies everywhere, that's intensity enough.

    Buggy with items popping in the screen, Zombies moving through walls and constant slow downs. I hope they do an update with this.

    BTW: Why can Zombies climb over barbed wire without being damaged or tangled up?    … Expand

    Possibly one of the worst DLC I've ever come across. The game is very buggy the amount of times I've gone and started a mission got half wayPossibly one of the worst DLC I've ever come across. The game is very buggy the amount of times I've gone and started a mission got half way through and either have to let it fail, drive away and hope the enemy respawns so I can restart the mission or even restart the game! the AI is truly awful the friendly NPC soldiers just stand around when attacked, VIP NPCs run head on into infested houses and certain death. The game is purely fetch quests, freak hunts or infestations. Your base will be attacked by several waves of zombies mixed with freaks and with NPC being so poor you will do everything! This happens every 30 minutes so searching for supplies is made near impossible. There's is no new weapons that I could find, majority or the map is off limits AGAIN and the only only improvement is the vehicles can now store rucksacks and gear put still nowhere near enough and as a if some sort of punishment have done away with the car workshop at your base or I never saw it as never had enough building materials. Every area is a monster closet, a major problem when out in the open on your own.But the worst thing by far was the lag. So many times the lag cut in during a fight making me die more than once or crash into wreckage and killing my pickup and almost me. There's no reason for it as the graphics are the same as the main game, the size is similar if not smaller and lags at the oddest times not just when the enemy count is high. At a £5 it would be a fair price IF it worked properly and brought something new and interesting but your buying extra fetch quests and a difference but uninteresting map. Save your money.… Expand

    I am a HUGE State of Decay fan. I love the game. So it is with much frustration and angst that i write this poor review. This game is so fullI am a HUGE State of Decay fan. I love the game. So it is with much frustration and angst that i write this poor review. This game is so full of game altering bugs its mind blowing it was released in this state (of decaying rubbish). Also, the map is not big enough for all there is to do. I ran out of supplies and places to get them quickly. Maybe that is the point, but half the fun in collecting the loot. Also, a good amount of buildings you cant even go into yet they appear on the map as one you can. That was annoying. A few bugs...oit of a zillion: cars will flip, throwing you out and severly hurting you out of the blue for no reason, loosing anything in storage and possibly killing you along with whoever is with you, if it explodes. The NPCs are the buggiest... They have weird glitches some hard to explain. They get stuck in walls, they get stuck perma posing in mid air or laying down on thin air and all you can do is restart. Many many times it says there are lootable spots left when there are not. The list is endless. OH AND IT FREEZES. Yay. This is the 2nd bad dlc. This company is just in a rush to grab the bucks it seems like. I mean...the 1st dlc break down? Wtf was that? Way too hard and not much new. So...state of decay fans, save your money. Sorry to say :(… Expand
