May 20, 2012SSX was never a realistic game and wanted to do it now ruining the game completely. SSX3 I liked and thought that the new SSX would look like and do not recommend this new version.

Feb 29, 2012One of the best action sports games I've played in a while. Brings back the memories for sure. I don't know why people are complaining about the controls, they're smooth and quick to get used to. All 3 different game modes are great and perfectly integrated with the "Rider Net" online. Good job EA.

Feb 28, 2012You get the feeling like after they scrapped the whole edgy SSX they lost touch with the charm the game should have. The music is sorta weak with a few exceptions and the characters feel kinda boring.
Still though, the game is still SSX and it's still satisfying to land crazy tricks and go super fast. -
Mar 21, 2012Great game. Extremely fun and addictive. The best non-shooter game out there at the moment. (Best shooter being Mass Effect 3)

Mar 13, 2012It starts out fun enough... but after a day or so it gets repetative and frustrating. And including no competative multiplayer is just a result of lazy developers. This new SSX is worth a solid weekend rental, but nothing more.
-
Mar 5, 2012This is not ssx. It's a wana be snowboard sim. It focuses on survival and NOT tricks which is the whole point of ssx. I've been a long time fan and I wish I didn't buy this one or see it be release. It's trash compared to tricky or 3

Mar 3, 2012Great music, addictive game play, and a absolute blast to play. Competition with friends is amazing, aside from the lack of direct multiplayer. If you loved ANY of the other SSX games - this is a no question purchase.

Feb 29, 2012I loved SSX 3 and I love this. This game is everything it needed to be. A more polished version of the old SSX games with more content. Definately not regretting thus purchase!

Feb 29, 2012Ive started playing SSX at the first game on my PS2. The SSX Journey have been very long, and good. I still play SSX 3 and im lovin' it. But when i bought this... The Social Competition with your friends will never end. Those who think different are losers.

Feb 9, 2014Just logged in to give a zero. Nuff said.
Gameplay is not fun, I don't think there is much more to say after that. Clumsy snowboarding and clumsy level design.
Two words so sum up the game, frustrating and messy. -
Mar 3, 2012EA have taken one of my favorite games ever and smashed it to pieces. They have taken the parts and made this game leaving out the fun, scale and innovation. This is a terrible game that should be avoided.

Feb 28, 2012A great symbiosis between fun and competition and a brisk blow in times of a realism plagued MW & BF gaming world. Fast, tricky and some new features which make it worth buying.

Mar 2, 2012This SSX is a big sorprise, because is like a new burnout, but without cars, the characters wow, this is a great job of Electronic Arts, a new version of one of the better games that have. SSX is awesome.
-
Mar 9, 2012very fun and addictive multiplayer, and an all-around fun filled game. i would say the game does get a little repetitive, but it is a really good game. my only complaint is that i don't think it will have much lasting appeal.
-
Mar 11, 2012Game is amazing. You will love it. I've never played a snowboarding game I love as much as this. That said, it is a bit of button masher, but still it is awesome.

Mar 1, 2012If they cut any more corners, there would be nothing left. No splitscreen, no skiing?! WTF. Why would they just take a complete step back from previous installments. Whatever, I will just keep playing on tour. I hope the man who created this game burns in hell.

Feb 28, 2012No split screen .... unbelievable for a SSX game !!
Multiplayer mode absolutely pathetic; no matchmaking ...
I can't believe it ! ....
I do not recommend it. -

Jan 2, 2013This game has the absolute worst control I have seen in a long time. Every controller input has a delay that hinders any fun this game may have had. This game is not worth purchasing at all.

Mar 21, 2012WOW! incredible... this game is so fun and addictive. A must buy. The best out of the SSX series and the third masterpiece of the year from electronic arts. (Kings of Amatur: Rekoning, and Mass Effect 3 (Insane!).
-
Apr 3, 2012I really loved SSX, until now. Now I just like it.
It's not as bad as I feared, but it isn't anywhere near as good as the franchise was.
Hopefully they can restore the franchise if it gets another chance! -

Jun 5, 2012I really. Liked this game. Great in game music, and overall very fun. A good amount of customization, and terific slopes provided to board down.. I Played one of the origonals on the ps2, and admitingly it was abit better. But this is definatly worth the buy. And a TON of tricks to pull, some insane. Its worth it just to see the tricks!

May 17, 2015You can get so much fun from this game. Tricks are amazing (sometimes way too much unrealistic), music is awesome and system of buying new and better boards is great.

Jun 17, 2016This is undoubtedly the WORST game I have ever had the displeasure of playing. It's unbalanced. It's unfair. It's ugly. And most importantly is no fun at all. DO NOT BUY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. This is worse the big rigs over the road racing. I'm being serious. Please, save your money- give it to a worthy cause. Not to this utter trash heap of a company.
-

May 5, 2012The creators succeeded in reviving the SSX-franchise. The slopes are varied, challenging and incredibly fast. There is always challenge to be found, especially in the expansive multiplayer, but new players shouldn't have any problems picking it up.
-
Hyper MagazineApr 12, 2012Kudos to the development team for creating some truly insane courses. [May 2012, p.72]
-
Apr 11, 2012Whether your favorite was SSX Tricky or SSX 3, this latest entry, simply titled "SSX," has virtually nothing to do with the franchise fans fell in love. Voiceovers from DJ Atomika have been slapped on top to reassure you that yes, you're playing an SSX game, but the gameplay, courses, and overall quality are saying something else entirely.
