The old style of the game doesn't compare to the graphics of the newer games.

Terrible. i was expecting a fun web-slinging game to kick some bad-guy butt. what i found was terrible combat, terrible reaction times, terrible graphics, terrible dialogue, and a terrible plot. so i thought it would be fun to play as venom, nope, ever worse, venom is slow, not strong and cant jump, this was a good idea for a game, but terrible end product.

A game where we can play as our favourite Spidey villains as well as the web head himself? Surely this game is what us super-hero nerds have been waiting for?! Sadly, as great as it sounds, this game lets us down badly.

Aside from the linear level design (which is just unacceptable in a Spidey game) and the boring missions, this game could have worked. After a normal night for Spidey,

Aside from the linear level design (which is just unacceptable in a Spidey game) and the boring missions, this game could have worked. After a normal night for Spidey, he is recruited by Nick Fury of S.H.E.I.L.D. to help kick butt... Throughout his adventures, Spiderman has the freedom to team up with some of your favourite bad guys such as Green Goblin and Venom. However, the game just fails to do anything we've never seen done better in other games. It's short levels and tiny amount of achievements give it little replay ability.

Although the game had a good idea, the concept is lost with each bad guy you recruit and just fails to give us the Spider-Man magic we wanted. Spider-Man: Friend or Foe gets a saddening 4 out of 10.

I am giving FoF the benefit of the doubt because it's obvious that it's geared towards a younger audience: the difficulty is low, the action is mind-numbingly simplistic and the overall vibe of the game, from the art style to the character dialogue, is juvenile--as in youthful, not immature.
  2. Spider-Man: Friend or Foe, despite being aimed at a squarely younger audience, is a very fun game despite its simplicity. It doesn’t have the depth of something like say, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, but should provide plenty of fun for those looking for a simple brawler with characters from the Spider-Man universe.
  3. Some flashy action, a playful sense of humor, and a clean visual style bring this otherwise straightforward beat-'em-up to life.
