RyanS.Sep 7, 2007The old style of the game doesn't compare to the graphics of the newer games.

EddieOct 25, 2007Terrible. i was expecting a fun web-slinging game to kick some bad-guy butt. what i found was terrible combat, terrible reaction times, terrible graphics, terrible dialogue, and a terrible plot. so i thought it would be fun to play as venom, nope, ever worse, venom is slow, not strong and cant jump, this was a good idea for a game, but terrible end product.

Oct 29, 2012Overall a repetitive and boring experience, the game is very much catered to young kids. After the disastrous Spider-Man 3 and now this pile of garbage, fans might have to wait until SM4 hits theatres at another shot. Rent it for achievements or buy it for your kids, but make sure you know what you're getting into.

Mar 23, 2023This game is one of the more nostalgic games from my childhood. Looking back on it the combat was the most basic out of any spider-man game but there was a high variety in level types, characters and bosses. Decent graphics for its time. I remember the venom and mysterio fights to be the best and most fun. Would not ever replay as combat would be too basic but I do give it credit for its time.

I am giving FoF the benefit of the doubt because it's obvious that it's geared towards a younger audience: the difficulty is low, the action is mind-numbingly simplistic and the overall vibe of the game, from the art style to the character dialogue, is juvenile--as in youthful, not immature.

Spider-Man: Friend or Foe, despite being aimed at a squarely younger audience, is a very fun game despite its simplicity. It doesn’t have the depth of something like say, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, but should provide plenty of fun for those looking for a simple brawler with characters from the Spider-Man universe.

Some flashy action, a playful sense of humor, and a clean visual style bring this otherwise straightforward beat-'em-up to life.
