Jan 25, 2011While it's lacking in personality, Spare Parts still isn't bad. It's unfortunate that the script work didn't use Simon Pegg as well as it could have, but there is an acceptable platformer underneath.
-
Jan 25, 2011A lot like LEGO Star Wars without either of the licenses. It's still good fun, and very, very forgiving, meaning that its well-suited for a younger crowd. It's a bit short, but as you continually unlock new abilities, you can go back and explore previosly unreachable parts of levels you've already completed. And the seamless drop-in experience doubles the fun.
-
Jan 25, 2011Spare Parts could have been better. Nevertheless, the title produced by EA is fun and never frustrating. Don't expect a game that will leave an indelible mark in your memory, but, for some carefree hours of play, it's very good.

Feb 3, 2011Nice co-op platformer with lots to collect and upgrade. A bit lack-luster when it comes to variation and the fighting though.
-
Feb 3, 2011Spare Parts is a very simple game, aimed to the younger audience, which will like the design and charm of its characters. Taking into account the audience of the game, we miss some more help in certain puzzles of final bosses, as some players might get stuck.
-
Jan 24, 2011As disappointing as Spare Parts is, I hope that we do see the characters again. They deserve to be in a better game.
-
Feb 23, 2011Slightly under whelming in some respects, the game could have done well with more whit and sharpness in dialog from the voice talent for instance. Blame the script, not the talent. It is a fast simple game. With visuals that will delight for a time.
-
Feb 1, 2011An agreeable effort with no drastic flaws, Spare Parts gets some things right but suffers from a lack of inspiration to be a compelling title.

Official Xbox Magazine UKApr 16, 2011Charming but flawed, and lacks ambition. [May 2011, p.101]
-
X-ONE Magazine UKMar 30, 2011The boredom of playing as this droid isn't helped by the drab nature of the game's design. [Issue#70, p.100]
-
Feb 9, 2011Spare Parts has a good concept and a clumsy realization. The idea is nice but the big number of technical problems transform a potentially good experience in a missed opportunity.
-
Feb 3, 2011Spare Parts has all the right ingredients to be a great puzzle adventure game but never doesn't stand out above the competition in any way. Simon Pegg tries very hard to keep the game interesting with his witty remarks but it's just too little too late.
-
Jan 25, 2011Ratchet & Clank's less talented cousins show just how unimportant technical competence is when a game has no heart or ambition.
