    Sonic Unleashed ist ein wundervolles Sonic Spiel, welches in fast jeden einzelnen Punkt sehr stark ganz oben was geleistet hat. Negative Sachen wäre zum einen die Medaillen, die ein wenig nervig sein können, da vorallem im letzten Modern Sonic Level sehr davon benötigt werden. Durch etwas umschauen und Geduld geht das aber nicht so schwer von der Hand, wie man vielleicht denkt. Wenn ihr die richtige Experience haben wollt und eine Xbox Series habt, gönnt euch das Spiel dort mit dem FPS Boost. Positive Punkte hat das Spiel wie gesagt fast überall toll gepunktet. Story ist sehr gelungen und perfekt und das Ende war im hohen Maßen auf sehr guten Level. Die Modern Sonic Level sind die besten Boost Level von allen Sonic Games und der Werehog mit sehr durchdachtes Gameplay welches viele Kombos beeinhaltet und Plattformingpassagen, ist das wirklich eine kunstvolle Mitte. Das Feeling mit den verschiedenen Welten ist auch wundervoll. Allein dass man mit den Dorfbewohnern dort unterhalten kann und sogar Quests erledigen kann (optional) ist auch sehr gut gelungen. Das Spiel kriegt von mir eine 10/10… Expand

    One of the best games of all time. The graphics, the story, the gameplay ohhh man this game was wayyy ahead of its time, even when you play a level you feel this game alive.

    Sonic Unleashed is the best Sonic game to date. The gameplay in the daytime stages is amazing, the music is incredible, the animation is great, the environments are beautiful, and the story is solid. The sense of speed in the daytime stages is incredible, it really feels like you're truly moving at Sonic's speed. No other Sonic game has captured that feeling as well as Unleashed did,Sonic Unleashed is the best Sonic game to date. The gameplay in the daytime stages is amazing, the music is incredible, the animation is great, the environments are beautiful, and the story is solid. The sense of speed in the daytime stages is incredible, it really feels like you're truly moving at Sonic's speed. No other Sonic game has captured that feeling as well as Unleashed did, Generations comes the closest. You can boost to gain speed, but the challenge comes in maintaining that high speed. Once you memorize and get good at the stages by replaying them you can blast through them without slowing down, which a lot of Sonic games force you to do in some areas. It's fun to try to get an S rank, and you really feel like you've gotten better at the game after practicing the stages. There are many pathways you can go through in the daytime stages, and it's satisfying when you learn the best ones. The DLC levels add even more challenges and manage to be hard but still fun once you learn them. The Werehog gameplay isn't as great as the daytime gameplay, but the Werehog gameplay is still fun. You can utilize tons of combos for the best results in the Werehog stages. For example, some enemies can block your attacks, but you can break their block with a specific combo. There's an attack you can learn that can serve both as an attack and as a method to manuever through the stage quicker. There's a combo you can use in mid-air to cover more distance after jumping, which you can use to do some shortcuts. The Werehog platforming sections are fun, even though they can be a bit frustrating at some points. The Werehog stages tend to drag on at points, but it's a problem I can look over considering the quality of the rest of the game. If you go for S ranks, you'll be playing more of the daytime stages than nighttime stages. The boss fights are also great, both the daytime and nighttime ones. I especially liked the Egg Dragoon boss fight. The tension between Eggman and Sonic is shown really well in the fight, it really seemed like Eggman wanted to kill Sonic during that fight. The game has the best presentation out of any Sonic game. The animation is great, especially in the CGI cutscenes. Every character is more expressive than they've ever been, especially Sonic. Each location you visit in the game is based off of a real world location, and they do a great job at making these environments beautiful. For example, there's a country you visit called Apotos, which is based off of real world Greece. Every country has its own people, food, culture, and environment. The game does a great job at showing this off. You can buy different foods and souvenirs from all the countries. The game also does a great job at building its world. You can see how different people are connected, and some will even travel to other countries throughout the game. Almost every NPC has their own mini story you can follow throughout the game, which is really nice. The graphics look cutting edge for 2008, and still look amazing today. The story also is great. It isn't as great as Sonic Adventure 2's, but it's still a good story. Sonic and Chip's friendship develops well throughout the story. I don't want to go into too much of the story's details for those who have not played the game, but Sonic's character is portrayed greatly in the story. The voice acting in the game is great, especially Sonic and Eggman's. The soundtrack is top-notch and is probably the best Sonic soundtrack yet. If you're able to overlook its issues, Sonic Unleashed is an amazing experience that's worth trying out.… Expand

    It's maybe the best Sonic game from the perspective of a lot of fans... I'll just say that it's for me the best platforming game i've ever played, charming from start to end, good graphics, nice music, challenging and fun gameplay, it's an experience you have to try to enjoy...

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Sonic Unleashed is a masterpiece, say what you want about the werehog night stages, idc, they are amazing. People usually say they are bad bc they are long and hard. Well the levels are only long when you don't know what your doing, once you get used to them, they're easy enough. The day stages are the best boosting stages in the series with its absolutely amazing level design, the soundtrack is fire and the story is amazing. The opening cutscene really empowers the player and makes them want to play those amazing game, and the super sonic transformation in this game is absolutely amazing. All in all, this game is great. The graphics are also great for a 2008 game. The only critical comment I can make is that some of the medals you have to collect in this game are in stupid places. Another thing that is so good about this game is how all the places you go to are based off of real life locations, Apotos, (the first place you visit when you start the game) Is based of Greece and is a spitting image of it, Spagonia is based off of England, Italy and France, with a dash of Spain in it, Empire city is based of New York etc. It was such a great idea that really worked. This game has the best story in the series and it shows Sonic in a new light that we hadn't seen in the series before and less like the usual cocky hedgehog he is. He has more of a developed personality and is willing to die at the end of the game (but ofc he is saved). He is a true hero in this game. This is the best Sonic game to date.… Expand

    Sonic Unleasehd is one of the BEST SONIC Games ever. I hope if they make one day a Sonic Unleashed Remaster it should be the same game but in 4K and 60fps and extra content. This game is just amazing! The Story 10/10 the Gameplay of Sonic great, the Werehog was oke but it was fun too. But at the end amazing game

    Sonic Unleashed is a masterpiece, rushing through the day stages with Sonic feels great, doing all the fancy combos with the Werehog is extremely satisfying, history is great and has a lot of charm, overall a great experience from beginning to end

    I love this game and always did as to why I love it the soundtrack of this game is the best they did an amazing job. The level design for both daytime and nighttime stages. I really love the fast paced gameplay for the daytime stages and their quite long as well even though you're boosting through them like crazy.     Não tenho nem muito o que comentar, é 10 na lata, zerei mais de 4 vezes e em 3 plataformas diferentes, simplesmente a masterpiece da era moderna do ouriço, musicas fenomenais, fases marcantes e personagens memoráveis, historia simples porém interessante e mesmo as fases do werehog são muito legais e diversifica bastante a gameplay, é GOTY

The daytime levels are the best gameplay Sonic has had since his 2D era keeping both speed and platforming in mind. I'm not sure why reviews are giving the game aGreat game with some frustration in the mix. A lot of reviews are bashing the werehog like it's unplayable, while it is different and sometimes frustrating (instadeaths ruining your rank) it's not terrible. The daytime levels are the best gameplay Sonic has had since his 2D era keeping both speed and platforming in mind. I'm not sure why reviews are giving the game a mediocre score when the game is very good, the werehog breaks up the pace a bit but that's not always bad.… Expand

The game is split into two main parts, night and day, which most people already know. The day sections feature our favorite super sonic hedgehog, in one of his most enjoyable outings yet. The countdown starts at the beginning of the stage, Sonic yells Sonic Unleashed is SEGA's latest attempt at making a fun and interesting Sonic game, and the good thing is...they have succeeded. The game is split into two main parts, night and day, which most people already know. The day sections feature our favorite super sonic hedgehog, in one of his most enjoyable outings yet. The countdown starts at the beginning of the stage, Sonic yells "GO!" and you are sent screaming through the level. The controls are flawless, the framerate rarely dips, and for the first time in years the camera is amazing. The drift mechanic and the speed boost are welcomed additions. Drift lets you skid around corners at high speeds and speed boost (my personal favorite) makes you go crazy fast and is terrific fun. The second these stages started I got a huge smile on my face and I began to remember what a good Sonic game was all about. When the night stages started, however, my smile slowly faded. In night stages you play as a slow werehog, which isnt nearly as fun as Sonic, but...it's not that bad. Compared to the day stages, yes, they are slow, clunky, and sort of repetitive. But after a while, you get used to it and it is quite fun. Overall, Sonic Unleashed is a a must-buy for any Sonic fan, and I reccomend it to anyone who wants to play a fun and exhilarating game. Lets face it, there is just something amazing about running really, really freaking fast.… Expand

    This is amazingly fun! Well, this version is, anyway! I love both levels, even when it can get a bit frustrating, this game has combined extreme speed, with seamless 3D - 2D transitions and combat, with mostly smooth gameplay, well done SEGA!

Yes, it can be a pain to keep having to switch between night and day, but playing as a werehog felt awesome especiallySimply a fun game! The story is quite simple but kind of funny with chip/ light gaia what happens is Dr.Eggman has lured Sonic into a trap to suck the energy of the chaos emeralds and shoot at the earth to wake up Dark Gaia so he can rule the world and call Eggmanland after that the rest of the story is simple just restoring chaos emeralds finding out what happens and learning more about Chip.
    The graphics in this game are fantastic it looks like it is Disney the only problem which is one of the reasons why I lowered it to 9 is the frame-rate issues later on like abadat. The game-play is almost perfect in the day time the only problem is the unresponsive at times jump button and the werehog is good despite what people say the only problem i find is his balancing and the spike part in empire city but I can ease that now.
    Time for one of the best parts music nearly every single track is memorable the main ones are endless possibilities by Jaret Raddick , Rooftop Run and cool edge.
    The bosses are easy except for the quicktime event in perfect dark gaia mash the x button 60 times is too much i say but it does get easier.
    I liked the aeroplane sections not that bad it was fun to shoot at ships and watch the beautiful view The bad is frame-rate sometimes drop, quicktime events over done, the shooting part kind of , unresponsive at times    … Expand

    I really must give this gem praise. Sonic really should take another daring crack like this game did. The game was fun and those who deny it are kidding themselves. While it is true that the Where hog levels were not as good as the Day stages, they were still quite fun in its own right. Me and my brother played in cooperative craze trying to beat this. While it is true that the Where hog levels were not as good as the Day stages, they were still quite fun in its own right. Me and my brother played in cooperative craze trying to beat this. He played the Where hog and me the original Sonic since I wasn't as good as he was in the Night stages. The Day stages are fast paced and fun with platforming in the mix. This new concept in the 3D Sonic formula really drove you into playing for those stages again. The key in these stages was to go really fast, but not get carried away in it as well. Sonic games have always challenged your restraint in speed as the trick to playing cleanly through a stage and it sure doesn't stop in this game either. The only problem is that Sonic is a little slippery to control at times. The Night stages, contrary to popular opinion, were really not that bad. They weren't as fun as the Day stages, but they were fun in their own way and really helped hit home in the atmosphere this game was playing out towards. The only flaw in this plan was that there were too many Night stages to play through. This is really dissapointing because a balance would have really made this game much better than it already is and frankly, it would make me more inclined to play through it again. The story is decent, but its presentaion is the biggest victory over it. Its saving the world from Eggman again, but it really feels like that final battle that you have to keep persevering to finally prevail in the end. The scope of this game makes you really feel like your where you are. In the Arabian area, Italian town, Tropical Island, a bustling city, etc. The music is really where I must give props for. SEGA truly had outdone themselves in an original soundtrack in this game. Its diverse and high spirited, with different cultures added into the mix. The orchestration and jazz band are truly welcome in SEGA music as this is among their best soundtracks. It really brings the adventurous feeling of traveling from country to country, saving the world, meeting new people, etc. One of my biggest gripes about this game is the voice acting. Jason does his best performance as Sonic, but everyone can't be said the same way. Chip's character was also a bit annoying, but still memorable and he did grow on me after a while. Its not the best Sonic game ever, but its still definately an underrated game in the franchise, easily worth the buy, especially the 15 dollars its on sale for these days. If you want the best version of this game I highly suggest getting the Xbox version. Don't pass this game up if your interested.… Expand

    An incredibly underrated adventure. The daytime stages are incredibly exhilarating, have tons of replay value, and really yells out "Sonic the Hedgehog". However, the night stages are slightly tedious, but I have grown accustomed to them over time. This is a fantastic adventure with tight controls, incredible soundtrack, awesome story, amazing graphics, this isn't an adventure to miss out on.

    One of the Best Sonic games I have ever played. The Day stages are fun to play since you're running everywhere at the speed of sound. I don't see why people have problem with the night stages. I actually like smashing stuff and fighting. It may appeal to fighting game fans. The cutscenes are somewhat goofy and funny. I see this as one of the best sonic games. Keep in mind this is my own opinion.

Nuevos personajes, como Chip o el profesor Pickle haran aparición en este título, y mientras viajas por el mundo puedes comprar recuerdos para llevárselos a Pickle y recibir consejos, pistas o simplemente guardarlos en su laboratorios para verlos en el expositor. Chip es un pequeño ser volador con alas que no recuerda nada debido a cierto erizo azul que cayo encima suyo, por lo que deberas conseguir que recuerdo quien es, todo esto mientras restauras el mundo, debido a que al principio del juego verás que Dark Gaia a separado los continentes y esta recuperando fuerzas. Gráficamente es un juego impresionante y de una banda sonora muy buena, aunque no a la altura de anteriores titulos.

    Day stages are phenomenal, Werehog levels are pretty good and not repetitive there is enough variety with the fun platforming, puzzles, combat, and collectibles. The story has heart and the music is pretty damn good. The only annoying issue is that the performance is all over the place.

    Este fue el último Sonic con un presupuesto digno y se nota el dinero puesto.     2º el Sonic lobo no es malo y eterno. Los niveles Durán de 7 a 15 mins, lo que pasa es que los fans de Sonic solo juegan Sonic y son mas mancos que un discapacitado. La jugabilidad del lobo tiene varios combos y son divertidos, están al nivel de los god of war de PSP y el diseño de los niveles está bien, son divertidos.
    3º eggmanland no es un mal nivel!. Esto lo dicen los mancos, el nivel es uno de los mejores niveles finales que he jugado y solo es superado por la final del 100% del Mario Galaxy 2. ¿El nivel es largo? Si. Dura 25 mins, no 40 o 2 horas como he escuchado por allí.
    4º las medallas son tediosas. No son tediosas, hay que buscar bien (cosa que no le puedes pedir a inútiles como sergieandsegasonic).

    This is my perfect Sonic game. And yes, before you bring it up, I really enjoy the Werehog levels, sometimes just as much as the Hedgehog levels! Rooftop Run Act 1 and Windmill Isle Act 2 are ones I really like, just to name a few.

    Also I love speedrunning Eggmanland. My current best time for that is 11 minutes and 35 seconds.

Being that fast, the game doesn't want you to think for too long, nor does it slow you down with intricate platforming: Instead, it testes your reflexes, and does so with such commitment that it becomes the highlight of these levels. Overall, 9.5/10. It's not a perfect score because there are occasional very annoying frame drops.

    Night:
    Now these levels are a less interesting to talk about because quite frankly, they're just okay. You play as Sonic, but for some reason he's a "Werehog" with stretchy hands? The idea is quite strange, yes. The execution, on the other hand, is far less unique: Most of the levels consist in combat sections, where you beat up all sorts of weird glowing monsters, alongside platforming sections that are actually pretty solid. The combat is itself is also quite solid: it's responsive, visually satisfying and the combos are great. You unlock more combos the more you play, which helps adapting to the increasing difficulty. The biggest issue is the repetitiveness of it. It's everywhere, so much so that it gets very boring. Another issue is the lack of strategy: teach your cat to click on buttons and it'll beat the level for you. Of course, I'll give credit where it's due: there are combos, and they're satisfying to learn and use, but that's still no strategy because all the combos have the same outcome. The other big part of these levels is the platforming, and it's solid. It makes a huge use of your weird, stretchy arms, in a decent way. There are a few puzzles, and there's not much to talk about because they're just alright, serviceable at best.
    Overall, night levels are good. Just good, nothing more nothing less, a 7.5/10.

    Presentation: Graphics:
    Unleashed is arguably one of the best looking games on old gen consoles. In fact, its visuals still hold up very well among modern games. After releasing the mess that is Sonic 2006, Sonic Team made a brand new game engine, The Hedgehog Engine, that was specifically made to imitate CGI animation, and it paid off. It's still being used in other Sonic and SEGA games nowadays. The shadows and lighting are incredible. There is a great sense of spectacle in day levels, and a great atmosphere in night levels. The graphics are somewhere between realistic and cartoonish, which is a balance all Sonic games should aim for. My favourite levels in terms of visuals are Act 2 of Apotos and Act 1 of Chun-Nan. If I had to complain about something, it would be the blurry textures (you don't notice them very often because you're either going too fast to see every texture or it's too dark to see them, but they're very obvious in cutscenes), and the frame drops. Yeah, this game looks so good that the 360 and (especially) the PS3 can't handle it apparently. There are going to be moments where the framerate drops horrendously, luckily however there are very few of these moments. One last thing: The opening cinematic is GORGEOUS, it looks absolutely stunning, I'm not even going to waste my time describing it, just watch it yourself.
    Graphics get a well deserved 9/10. Music: It's a Sonic The Hedgehog soundtrack we're talking about, of course it's going to be great. You know the deal already, day levels are energetic, night ones are jazzy, hub ones fit the theme of the town, and they're all great, no exceptions. Unfortunately Sonic has abandoned his rock n roll roots in favour of more simple music that you'd actually expect from a video game. This isn't a bad thing, because it's well executed, but we just kind of miss those crazy guitar riffs from Jun Senoue. It's a shame his band Crush 40 didn't compose the game's theme song, "Endless Possibilities" (for some reason it's made by the band that did the Phineas and Ferb theme?). My personal highlights are Spagonia (Night) and Dark Phoenix.
    Sound design is great as well, Sega's sound team, as always, definitely knows what's up.
    The music and sound design get a solid 9/10. Story:
    I skipped most of the cutscenes so I'm not too sure, but it's relatively cartoonish, and it suddenly gets pretty epic and serious by the end which is a change I appreciated.

    Overall? a very mixed experience, a love it or hate it game. Fortunately, I loved it. It's pretty cheap nowadays, so I highly recommend you give it a shot.    … Expand

We bought an Xbox 360 very, very recently and loaded up on a few essential dad-kid games before leaving the store, unconcerned about reviews or seeing gameplay in action. For me, a few red flags were raised during the opening sequence and later in the game was a bit bored by the nighttime werehog elements but so far have not been First my take, then my 10 year old son's take. It is certainly true that I would have passed on the game had I see those elements in action at the gamestore or online, and especially if they were not plastered with the Sonic brand. My son, on the other hand, is still thrilled. In fact, he preferred the slower and what he called "Kingdom Hearty" gameplay as werehog Sonic, and felt more like he was progressing in a game with a character he could build. Speeding through levels hje gets flustered and disinterested, gains and loses coins at random, and has no reason to feel nostalgic. His first exposure to Sonic in game form, beyond images of older Sega titles in magazines, was actually Super Smash Bros (Wii). (His first exposure to Mario was Galaxy, as well.) I feel that this Sonic game is a fantastic balance. The developers have gotten their slaps on the wrist in sales and are making up for things bit by bit to classic gamers by releasing DLC, but I don't think they've put a foot wrong here. Another thing to consider about my review: we live in Japan, and the Japanese release of the game is in both Japanese and English. Perhaps so are other versions. This makes the game particularly exotic to one or both of us, as having the ability to log in under two gamertags with save games in two languages and spice up the experience. It's rather like watching a classic Disney film get remade in a foreign language -- interesting and bizarre and much easier to accept.… Expand

    A solid platformer that displays a master of the classic Sonic gameplay as well as the best gameplay alternative the 3D games have ever seen. The game is the most technically advanced and clean of the 3D Sonic games, but still suffers from a lack of polish later in the game in the form of slowdown, pop-up, and general bugs.

    Don't let harsh reviewers such as as IGN fool you. This is a good game. The Sonic levels are top notch and the werehog levels are fun too. The only thing that really put me off about this game is that the platforming of the werehog levels gets to be pretty frustrating. This will probably go down as the most underrated sonic game ever.

    You know, this game really took way too much flak. I'll admit, when saw the first trailer of werehog gameplay, I thought it was by far the dumbest Sonic gimmick SEGA had come up with yet. But I checked the game out, and I was actually pleasantly surprised. I daresay the daytime stages of this game are Sonic at his absolute best, and even the werehog stages are decently fun.     One of the Best Sonic games ever!! I enjoyed the daytime levels!! They are fast and fun. Nighttime levels are okay. There were 2 Nighttime levels that I hated. The rest were good, though. The graphics are amazing, and it has a good soundtrack. Overall, I'd give it an 8 out of 10

    As much as I disliked lumbering through levels as Sonic’s hulky Werehog, I disliked hunting through the hub worlds looking for coins even more. Sega, if you really want to fix Sonic, the first thing you should do is stop trying to fix him.
