Apr 23, 2013City Interactive has done a wonderful job of improving on the first Ghost Warrior title, and while this game still has a ways to go before being stellar, it definitely has succeeded in getting us excited for what the next sniping title may look like.
-
Mar 19, 2013The frustratingly few-and-far-between checkpoints and MIA multiplayer are disappointments, but this is a worthy sniping experience, especially given the game's budget price. This thoughtfully designed sequel makes good on the promise of its highly flawed predecessor.

Pelit (Finland)May 13, 2013Buggy and clumsy, yet somehow entertaining. [May 2013]
-
Mar 27, 2013As a sniper game, it’s not a bad choice, just one that’s saddled with some unfortunate gameplay and presentation issues.
-
Apr 19, 2013The idea of Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 is great, the execution is poor and what could have been an excellent game now warrants just a single run-through on the single-player campaign before being sold over eBay. Whilst the actual sniping experience is very realistic and on a harder difficulty very immersive, it’s let down by poor visuals, a short campaign, a bare boned multiplayer and thick enemy AI.
-
Mar 24, 2013Though the potential to be a great game is there for Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2, it just never reaches that point of greatness due to flaws and linear gameplay.
-
Games Master UKMay 9, 2013Some great sniping action surrounded by ropey stealth sections and enemy AI. [June 2013, p.69]
-
Apr 10, 2013Sniping fans who are done with the recent Sniper Elite V2 and crave more sharpshooting action will probably get some mileage out of this budget title, but lowering the scope reveals a game that could have used a little more polish and attention before release.
-
Mar 26, 2013On the surface, Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 has plenty going for it. Decent visuals if you don’t pay attention, a campaign that will stretch from 6-8 hours and some solid gameplay. But it lacks the drive to go any further, resulting in a lacklustre game that misses several high value shots in the process.
-
Mar 22, 2013Just entertaining enough to buy when it’s accumulating dust in the bargain bin. But for a richer sniper experience with more gruesome kill shots, last year’s Sniper Elite V2 is a better bet.
-
Mar 20, 2013A game of limited worth, then, less enjoyable than 2012's World War 2-themed Sniper Elite V2, but which demonstrates a developer on an upward trajectory nonetheless.
-
Mar 18, 2013An appealing-enough concept mired by shoddy execution. Unabashed scope junkies may find something to amuse them here, however, providing you put a bullet through your better judgement.
-
Mar 20, 2013A budget first person tactical shooter, hampered by mediocre artificial intelligence, linear level design and lots of graphical glitches. Single player campaign is short and what is left is an inconsistent multiplayer mode.
-
X-ONE Magazine UKApr 23, 2013There are good ideas here, but too much bogging them down. [Issue#97, p.66]
-
Apr 8, 2013Everything surrounding the long-range shooting makes this far from a satisfying experience. The muddy visuals, cheesy dialogue, predictable level design, and lacking multiplayer leaves plenty to be desired.
-
Apr 4, 2013A capable sniping simulator overwhelmed by technical hiccups and shallow drama.
-
Apr 4, 2013A huge disappointment and a step back from the original game. Ghost Hunter 2 is boring, repetitive, and doesn't really immerse you in the world of snipers.
-
Apr 1, 2013It’s a game that has a core mechanic done decently, but has “generic” written all over it for everything else. Add in the throwaway, barebones multiplayer and there isn’t anything here worthwhile for anyone but hardcore sniper fans.
-
Mar 23, 2013Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 could have been a great sniper game. Learned from all mistakes made in the original game, one would think a sequel would make up for everything. Alas, that is not the case. The game fails to really stand out in many aspects, such as the story and characters. Let's hope a possible third entry will be an impressive point blank.
-
Mar 22, 2013Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 feels like a bad parody of military shooters, but with poorly textured environments and sub-par mechanics. I like being the lone-wolf sniper as much as the next shooter fan, but City Interactive fumbles the power-trip from start to finish.
-
Apr 3, 2013Ghost Warrior 2 falls into the trap of trying to be accessible to a wide audience - however the end result is casual and veteran gamers will feel ultimately let down by a complete lack of freedom and unoriginal gameplay.
-
Apr 7, 2013Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 turned out to be a clumsy attempt in creating a sniper-focused FPS, with many defects and few positives. A good overall atmosphere is overcome by a bad enemy AI, an incredibly short campaign and glitchy CryEngine implementation. Forgettable.
-
Apr 11, 2013Sniper 2: Ghost Warrior is a well presented game, but its lack of variance quickly diminishes any entertainment and turns it into a chore.
-
Mar 25, 2013Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 delivers what it promised to do, meaning not much, but that fact alone is worth mentioning. Forget all about the big productions of the market, here we clearly are in another market share: Low Cost gaming. This Dacia of the videogame, once the buyer don't expect the full service, starts scoring points in the spirit of the fanatic of sniper games. If we cant consider recommending this game to the first gamer we meet, a real hardcore gamer fond of Sniper action might well like it. In the mean time, the gamer that does not want to pay the full price (70€) for a game that's so specialized in it's offering, could appreciate this games which is sold at a bargain price.
-
Mar 15, 2013Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 fails in too many elements. It's linear, simplistic and has a guided campaign. There's little variety and it's too short. City Interactive doesn't take advantage of Cry Engine 3, and it's full of graphical issues.
-
Aug 8, 2013Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 does a mediocre job of offering up a shooting gallery, but it's so limited in scope that it's almost impossible to recommend to anyone who doesn't feel a strange sense of arousal whenever they imagine popping a bullet into someone's head at several hundred yards. Well, whenever Diaz finally tells them to, of course.
-
Apr 5, 2013To really appreciate Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2, one really has to love sniping and unbelievably stupid enemies.
-
Mar 23, 2013I realize this is what’s considered a budget title at $39.99, but regardless of this fact I felt like one would not get much for their hard earned, and spent, dollars here. Give this one a pass unless you are the most addicted of scope junkies or if you enjoyed the first game.
-
Mar 21, 2013Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 atones for the sins of its predecessor by offering a more polished and playable experience. But equally, it commits its own transgression by throwing up generic, linear gameplay in the far-too-short campaign, accompanied by a weak multiplayer. This is one shooter that is certainly not sharp.
-
Mar 20, 2013An interesting concept that proves less interesting in execution—and ultimately suffers from repetition that’s beyond boring.
-
Mar 19, 2013Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 is a game that does little to entertain due to poor graphics and boring game design options. Keep this game carefully out of sniping distance from your wallet.
-
Mar 19, 2013The game's main problem, everything considered, is that it makes what should be a test of skill and patience into a series of shooting galleries that require little skill. Instead, it's a woeful Call of Duty with a telescope.
-
Mar 18, 2013A sequel that seems to have learned almost nothing from the deeply flawed original, and which still only hints at the wider potential for a proper sniper sim.
