Shoot Many Robots

I'd argue that Shoot Many Robots would've done better as a straightforward, linear shooter with regular acquisition of new weapons, rather than having you buy everything, but it's a relatively minor complaint. The rest of the game's fast, funny, and incredibly well-designed.

Though Shoot Many Robots is just missing that very slight edge to make this a classic alongside Metal Slug and Contra, it's a damn good competitor, and the kind of game that thrives life into the run-and-gun genre again.

This year seems a good one for sidescroller arcade games. Shoot Many Robots keeps the bar high for this type of game, offering lots of content and a good online cooperative mode in a game that will test our fingers.

Although it doesn't reach the top of the genre, fans of Alien Hominid and Contra Hard Corps: Uprising have, here, a cohesive game.

Highly fun. Apart from some minor annoyances in the inventory system and difficulty balance, its challenge, sense of humor and deep customization options make for a great game with long legs and huge potential for future expansion with DLC. Old school shooter fans should take heed.

Overall Shoot Many Robots is a game that takes an existing genre and builds on it, without ever trying to reinvent the wheel. It does what it does and it does it rather well. It isn't the best shoot-em-up you'll play, but it is one you'll get plenty of enjoyment from.

A frantic side-scrolling shooter reminiscent of classics like Metal Slug that may become tiresome in long intervals, but is more than enjoyable in short bursts.

There's an accessibility to the gameplay mechanics that will appeal to dabblers, and the variety of gear, numerous leaderboards, and late-game difficulty cry out to a hardcore fanbase that enjoys those classically sadistic shoot-em-ups.

Big guns, big explosions, big waves of enemies, and full co-op support. A bit like a side-scrolling Serious Sam, then, only with more guns and more fishnets.

It's really hard to not enjoy this game. Its great gameplay will surely satisfy any fan of the genre, especially in co-op.

If you are into games such as the classic game Metal Slug or other 2D side scrolling massive carnage action style games, then listen to RIP OFF and purchase Shoot Many Robots!

It's easy for many to dismiss Shoot Many Robots due to its repetitive nature, but seriously, what modern day shooter isn't repetitive? Those that stick with it and delve a little deeper will find a diamond in the rough offering hours upon hours of shootery fun.

Though not very original or innovative in terms of gameplay and level design, Shoot Many Robots is a solid shooter with a good amount of replay value due to the smart levelling, looting and customization systems.

Too bad the game doesn't offer much variety outside of its weirdo flea market.

As team-carnage games go, you'll get some mileage out of this one. Grab a few of your drinkin' buddies, and have yourselves a fun (and cheap) night of gratuitous hillbilly firepower and richly deserved robo-death. Preferably with your beer goggles on.

From the addictive loot gathering to the endless slaughter of robot overlords, Shoot Many Robots offers hours of chaotic and entertaining gameplay. Unfortunately, issues of repetition and a difficult single-player experience distract from the overall experience. Shoot Many Robots can only be recommended to gamers that are willing to take their fight against the robot apocalypse online.

The title sums up Shoot Many Robots, a kill-crazed co-op shooting spree that offers a lot of action for just $10.

Shoot Many Robots' loot system is so over-the-top that it's immediately charming.

It's a manic shooter designed to be played in co-op, but this is a small game from a little studio and the chance of it getting enough exposure to interest you and three of your mates online will likely prove problematic.

Shoot Many Robots is not really the kind of game that you should buy full price. But if you're looking for a game with a nice co-op to play with you're friends, then look no further.

Killing robots with the trigger-happy hick Walter Tugnut is good old school fun and includes big weapons and tons of power ups. If only it had more variation.

These issues with pacing and balancing are compensated by the manic euphoria of the action, so if you have three reliable friends with a penchant for manic gunplay and surreal RPGs then Shoot Many Robots can be an enjoyably unpretentious distraction. Those who prefer to play solo should steer well clear, however.

The name says it all. You definitely have many robots to shoot. Unfortunately dozens of enemies on the screen can't save this title from long-term boredom, especially if you're hunting the metal beasts alone.

A fair co-op shooter, full of funny moments but not standing out in any particular area. Only for side scrolling shooters uber-aficionados.

You'll certainly get your money's worth by going for all the unlocks and partaking in the chaotic four player co-op mode, but it's hard to shake the feeling unfulfilled potential and lack of diversity.

The title says it all: you do shoot many robots in Shoot Many Robots. There's still some subtleties in the game's gameplay, but they fail to dim the overall repetitiveness of the ride.

The complicated controls and frustrating difficulty make Shoot Many Robots tough to enjoy on your own and only slightly less so in a group. If you're really craving the next Alien Hominid then this one might do for a quick fix.

Borderlands 2D sounds like a good idea on paper, and this certainly looks the part, but it's an experience as vacuous and unrefined as its protagonists.

Beyond an amusing style and excellent presentation the game is as deep as a particularly dry puddle, and while I have nothing against games that offer simple thrills Shoot Many Robots doesn't make levels interesting enough to make them feel anything but repetitious – and the occasional Survival levels only exacerbate the problem, not offer a reprieve.

What it ultimately comes down to is that Shoot Many Robots grabs hold hard and won't let go while it shoves an overwhelming amount of forgettable, often irritating action down your throat.
