Jun 16, 2011SROA is a well-done Rally-Racer. If you're looking for quick racing fun rather than tuning or a long term career mode then this is 800 MSP well spent.
-
Games Master UKJul 8, 2011Short on scope, big on fun. [Aug 2011, p.91]
-
Jun 5, 2011If you want to take home one of the best arcade racers out there, Sega Rally Online Arcade is hard to beat. It doesn't have the depth of a full console game, but at 800 MSP ($10 USD) for an accurate arcade port, it's a great value - doubly so if you already own a proper racing wheel. Shift into overdrive and snag this one before the checkered flag drops.
-
Jun 3, 2011For 800 points on XBLA and whatever it ends up as on freshly un-borked PSN though, Sega Rally Online Arcade still represents somewhat of a bargain.
-
May 30, 2011A real tribute to the fans of the saga of Sega Rally. Good graphics and a selection of funny game modes make it worth all of its price.
-
May 25, 2011This latest instalment in the SEGA Rally franchise doesn't offer much variety. However, the gameplay and the controls are just so smooth that the five available maps will keep you entertained for hours to come.
-
May 25, 2011As long as you are not expecting a complete reinvention of the series, you will love what the game brings at just the right price.
-
May 24, 2011Sega Rally Online Arcade offers up a streamlined version of what made Sega Rally Revo great, while also providing the same addictive gameplay that's made the series so revered for a decade and a half.
-
May 19, 2011If you don't have fond memories of the arcade cabinet or Saturn game, it's still a truly feisty little racer that looks great and handles well. Tearing up dirt tracks with indestructible rally cars is enormous fun, and this XBLA title delivers those thrills in their purest, most undiluted form. It's just a shame that there's so very little of it.
-
Jun 30, 2011It has been a while since the West has had a Sega Rally game since the Japanese only release of the most recent Sega Rally. For those that have played a Sega Rally this is exactly what you would expect, for those who have never played Sega Rally before there is not much here to entice you into a purchase. With only very limited tracks and cars there is little else than nostalgia here, but for those that loved the original this may be enough to make you want to fork over some of your hard earned.
-
May 25, 2011Gameplay-wise, little has changed since the 1995 original, and in many ways the series seems a little too eager to cling to the past.
-
May 20, 2011Sega Rally Online Arcade is a fun and interesting game. The franchise returns to its roots and offers us its arcade gameplay of old. Unfortunately, it falls short of circuits, game modes and possibilities. But overall, it's an engaging experience that will keep players busy for many hours.
-
May 25, 2011Sega Rally Online Arcade has the appeal to attract newcomers thanks to its controllability, but quickly turns into a more hardcore offering due to the highly competitive AI. Grabbing a first place position is rare, which is why the game only has a handful of cars and a couple of tracks to unlock; even Achievement points are difficult to come by. But even though the game's arcadeyness appeals to a broader spectrum of players, this is really a game more for the dedicated gamer.
-
Sep 8, 2011Sega Rally Online Arcade is a very arcade-like racer that is bound to impress those who loved to get their race on in arcades whenever they could, but be warned that the formula has not been shaken up too much since the original game hit, which is a bit unfortunate.
-
Jun 24, 2011A nice special edition of Sega Rally Revo for digital delivery, with good support online and local multiplayer. But there's nothing more than this.
-
Jun 23, 2011Rally diehards are better off dropping the extra cash for the excellent Dirt3, or even 2007's Sega Rally Revo. [Aug 2011, p.79]
-
Jun 6, 2011Taking the game around the Desert track delivers a massive nostalgic kick that will go straight to the core of anybody who remembers feeding arcade machines an entire tube of fifty pence pieces back in the day.
-
Jun 1, 2011It's the perfect racing game for short plays and direct fun when friends came over to your house.
-
May 31, 2011The Sega Rally name may not command the same awe as it used to, but it's a fun racing package for fans of classic arcade racers.
-
May 30, 2011As a whole, there's very little news here, but the game still justifies its own existence through a good, polished racing experience at a very cheap price. Particularly if you head online to race against friends.
-
May 27, 2011While it doesn't do anything new for the genre and pales in comparison to some of the more substantial XBLA racing games that are currently available, there is fun to be had with Sega Rally Online Arcade if you know what you're getting yourself into. It's a family friendly title, and a good starter game if you're looking to indoctrinate one of your kids (or wife). And if you're a racing aficionado with a nostalgic bent, it's not a bad way to spend some time.
-
May 27, 2011'Classic' is the word thar defines Sega Rally Online Arcade the best. Simplicity and affordability to bring back us to the nineties and enjoy the addictive arcade.
-
May 24, 2011SEGA Rally Online Arcade is a nice arcade racing that exploits the "nostalgia factor": colors, musics, tracks and cars are perfect for every SEGA Rally fan. The lack of 60 fps and some issues with the online are the biggest problems of this really good game.
-
May 20, 2011Sega Rally Online Arcade doesn't add anything new to the series, but it still offers plenty of enjoyable racing.
-
May 24, 2011While I'll admit that the track selection is lighter than I'd have liked, and that I really would have preferred to see a 60fps release, I still had a lot of fun with this game.
-
Jun 17, 2011Sega Rally Online Arcade brings some much needed arcade racing action to the XBLA and at a decent price. The content may be skimpy, but what you get is quality action that plays great online and offline.
-
Official Xbox Magazine UKJul 13, 2011Too short to be worthwhile. [Aug 2011, p.97]
-
May 30, 2011Sega Rally Online Arcade really is an arcade game in every way. There is nothing to it but rally. In the end, that works great in the arcades, but with a home console, there just isn't enough to do.
-
X-ONE Magazine UKJul 25, 2011It's mildly entertaining in the short term, though expect to see pretty much everything it has to offer in the first 15 minutes. [Issue#74, p.102]
-
Jul 7, 2011The lack of content is the biggest issue of Sega Rally Online Arcade and the online part of the game alone won't do the job.
-
May 31, 2011SEGA Rally Online Arcade doesn't have a lot of content, the car physics lack weight and the game mechanics feel dated. But there's still some fun to be had, and the intensity and overall feel from the good old days is still intact. Unfortunately, this isn't really enough, and modern competitors have passed the SEGA Rally franchise long ago. Something for nostalgic gamers then.
-
May 23, 2011Granted, this is a budget arcade title, but that doesn't justify the attempt to get away with a bare minimum of content. Vehicle numbers and the variety of game modes are adequate, but the paltry five tracks are a grievous error that put paid to any longevity.
