  1. Scramble on the 360 is a faithful rendition of the original arcade game. If that alone doesn't get you excited, you should probably take a pass.

All problems with the multiplayer aside, this game is lots of fun, especially if you’ve never played it before. The achievements are a bit easy, and lack of used screen space will wear on the nerves of any HD user.

While Scramble is a fun for quick run throughs, it doesn't have the staying power of many of the other classics on Arcade.
  4. It's really not that engaging a game in 2006 once you've got over the initial reaquaintence, and certainly not deserving of a standalone release on Live Arcade when there are so many more worthwhile games to download.
  5. A serviceable shooter that arcade fans should moderately enjoy. But if all you have are a certain amount of points to spend in the XBLA field, I suggest going with "Time Pilot" first. This game's fuel seems to run out quicker than it lets on.

    It's just boring. [Issue 12, p.116]
  7. The sixty minutes it takes to finish the five short levels isn’t worth the investment.

Frustrating if you're not any good at the older arcade games but worthy of your time if you give it some effort.

The graphical and sound updates are nicely done and do not detract from the classic gameplay. Achievements and online leaderboards make the game well worth the modest asking price. Bashers of classic games or people who say "why play oldies on a modern system?" should keep their low scores to themselves -- this kind of game just isn't for them, and they should stick to the conventional packages in shrinkwrap on DVD.
