Jul 23, 2013Scourge: Outbreak is a solid game, either single player or co-op. While it has some quirks (like starting me from the wrong checkpoint when I resumed a game), for the price it’s a solid and fairly lengthy experience. There’s nothing Earth shattering here, but for 800 points it’s a good option for players who enjoy the style.

Jul 10, 2013We've seen this type of third-person action game before, and done better at times. Scourge: Outbreak does bring the action it promises, but also brings some flaws with it that hurt that action. Still, it's tough to argue what you get with the price it's being sold for, which is at a very affordable 800 MSP. Give this one a shot, but don't expect perfection.
-
Jul 7, 2013Had there been some polish in some of the controls, an added depth to the story mode and more matchmaking online, Scourge: Outbreak would have been one of the biggest downloadable surprises this year. Still, for around $10, it’s worth playing — especially with friends.
-
Jul 5, 2013It´s a decent effort to create a budget TPS, but its falls too short to the kings of the genre to save that gap with price alone. Best in co-op, especially local.
-
Jul 11, 2013We know there's a lot of talent in this studio, but this time they offer a mediocre experience where, even though the main mechanic works, it's hard to highlight something.
-
Aug 12, 2013Scourge: Outbreak is a simple, by-the-books brown shooter with ideas taken from a few of its more superior brethren. It is light entertainment is brought down by poor controls and its unoriginality.
-
Jul 18, 2013A derivative and mediocre game with not a single fresh idea and just the budget pricing and a decent co-op mode to make it mildly interesting, if you're into that kind of multiplayer experience.
-
Jul 15, 2013Another "gears of war" shooter into the market with just too many problems to be worth your time and money.
-
Sep 3, 2013It may only be $10, but considering the genre and the number of games that offer more or do better for that price, there isn't much of a reason to get your shooting fix from this title.
-
Jul 12, 2013All that said, Scourge is cheap, and if you're looking for a no-frills co-op shooter to keep you and three friends mildly entertained, you could do worse.

Games Master UKSep 1, 2013Rough textures don't help. [Oct 2013, p.71]
-
Jul 9, 2013Predictably, you’ll have a much better time blasting away in by-the-numbers deathmatch, team deathmatch, and capture-the-flag engagements — well, if you can find any other players in the ghost town that passes for Scourge’s multiplayer lobby. Given the game’s crippling problems, it’s hard to blame folks for staying away in droves.
-
Jul 19, 2013Scourge: Outbreak does so many things badly that it’s become impossible to excuse. It might even be the poster child for everything that’s wrong with the current shooter landscape. The low price softens the blow, but this can’t be the excuse to release a game where so much simply isn’t finished or doesn’t work.
-
Aug 20, 2013Only an incurable dependence on third-person shooter will push you to buy this title. Move over. Seriously, there's nothing here that can attract your interest.
-
Jul 18, 2013Scourge: Outbreak is simply awful. The game has no good elements to share with players. The AI is stupid, the gameplay is boring and the graphics are old and clumsy. Just ignore it and buy something else.
-
Jul 12, 2013Scourge: Outbreak may seek to mimic the thrills and achievements of its blockbuster inspiration, but it serves merely to underline their superiority. Tragnarion has clearly put effort into polishing the game, but it’s fatally neglected to work on the underlying basics that were crooked three years ago.
-
Aug 5, 2013There’s no good reason to play Scourge: Outbreak. It functions (sort of), I’ll give ‘em that. But realistically, and even at a cheaper asking price, why would anyone ever want to play this game? Even the most middling third-person shooter is more desirable, and thankfully the last eight years has got your back pretty well covered in that regard.
-
Jul 30, 2013Scourge: Outbreak is one of the poorest games of this generation.
-
Jul 2, 2013It somehow even manages to make the Unreal engine look a pop-in-fest full of awful repetitive textures and jaggies worthy of the original PlayStation. There's no place in the world for a lemon of this magnitude.
