There's a fairly good game here that's just marred by a terrible co-op system.
-
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game makes for one of the better movie-based games out there. It carries its homage to old beat 'em up games a little too far, forgoing online play and a consistent checkpoint system, especially for a game that's not meant to be played by yourself.
-
I'm thankful to this game, because it intrigued me enough to check out the excellent movie and the even more excellent graphic novels. It opened my eyes to the works of artist Paul Robertson and the band Anamanaguchi. It's just a damn shame that the game is nothing special.
-
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game is a great homage to beat-em-ups of old that plays well, but is hurt by a few technical issues and gameplay missteps. No online co-op can also sour the experience.
-
games(TM)A knowing tribute to the games of yesteryear and a worthy counterpart to both the film and comic. [Issue#101, p.112]
-
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is a fun throwback to a simpler era, but visibility issues and a lack of online co-op get in the way of your enjoyment.

Official Xbox Magazine UKDec 25, 2010While in no way essential, there's worse you could do with your money... [Issue#65, p.104]
-
This game could have been a lot more fun if a couple of tweaks were made in certain key areas.
-
X-ONE Magazine UKThe insane difficulty feels like a horrible joke. [Issue#63, p.102]
-
Xbox World 360 Magazine UKIt's honest fun for a while. [Nov 2010, p.121]
-
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game is fun to play but only for a little while. The monotonous gameplay, simple graphics and bad music will make sure that you get bored very fast.
