    Fun game to play in co-op. Mercenaries adds a lot of replay value. I only wish the graphics weren't so dull and gray.

    Is Resident Evil 5 a good game in 2021? Depends on what you were expecting. Horror? Maybe a little, but it's mostly an action game with great co-op and an arcade-y feel to it.

    The story is OK, the graphics are OK and the Gameplay is fun. I can't tell you how many times I have beaten this game from the beginning and unlocked everything. Even on professional mode the game is a fun time    Is Resident Evil 5 a good game in 2021? Depends on what you were expecting. Horror?     The story is OK, the graphics are OK and the Gameplay is fun. I can't tell you how many times I have beaten this game from the beginning and unlocked everything. Even on professional mode the game is a fun time WITH A HUMAN PLAYER. The Ally A.I. is pretty darn awful on harder difficulties.

    Anyway, if you want a really FUN, somewhat short, addicting CO-OP game then I can't think of any better game other than Mario games of course. ;)    … Expand

    Being the first RE games for the new consoles I was pretty excited for this game, RE4 had perfected the Survival horror style, so the developers should have had all they need to make the next sequel. Unfortunately they took a different path and tried to update the franchise, which took away a lot of the magic in the process. They graphics look good but have some terrible tearing issues and the gunplay is solid until you need to use your inventory, which in awkward. The main AI in the game is your partner and its terrible this game would have been so much better without Sheva. All in all in was a decent ride but not really worth of the Resident evil franchise.… Expand

    Although it was awesome playing as Chris Redfield again, this is where the series began to change. Plus, coming off the heels of RE4, it was already going to be hard to live up to expectations. More action added in this game but it was still decent enough. The ending was pure Rambo/Commando which they could have left out.

With limited spaces, little time to act, enemies with one-shot moves, you still have what you call a Resident Evil game. It is worth playing and its graphics still hold up until now. With intriguing bosses, intricate level design, and special features to further bolster its replayability, Resident Evil 5 still gives you a hard and engaging challenge.    … Expand

    The reason I picked this up was because I loved Resident Evil 4 and a friend recommended this to me. I played it solo, so the AI of my partner was something to rely on. That is also one of my major criticisms, the Ai is not very good. Although being very good with shooting (I would recommend giving her a sniper rifle and the machine gun), she sometimes just straight up walks into enemies,The reason I picked this up was because I loved Resident Evil 4 and a friend recommended this to me. I played it solo, so the AI of my partner was something to rely on. That is also one of my major criticisms, the Ai is not very good. Although being very good with shooting (I would recommend giving her a sniper rifle and the machine gun), she sometimes just straight up walks into enemies, gets killed by a chainsaw guy instead of following me (she was in cover mode, not attack), running into laser beams in the temple and getting stuck at areas and then charged by the boss. The bosses in this game were also kind of odd, sometimes cryptic and other times kind of boring. But thats as much bad as I can say about this game. One more thing I consider more neutral is a real time inventory, which tenses stuff up more but also takes away freedom, so it is both good and bad. Overall, this game had a very similar feel to it like RE4, which was very welcomed. Fighting is satisfying, close combat was even improved, weapons upgrades are great, areas are nice and the possibility of multiplayer coop makes it promising for playing with friends. I would definetly recommend this game, but would lean more towards multiplayer with a friend because the game is not too long, meaning you dont have to meet very often to beat it and that way you avoid the AI problems mentioned above.… Expand

    i was kind of confused on how to feel about this game. it was mixed with action and horror which dont usually mix well. but it was a lot better than what 6 offered. you cannot play this **** by yourself, an actual partner is ideal for this. not going to lie iv been confused on the story even after finishing it...its a great time with a friend..no replay value...

    Ok, it looks good, but I don't need a cutscene interrupting me every 6 seconds to prove it!!! Did they include to option to play without cutscenes after finishing the game once? Of course not. Make a game or make a movie. Stop trying to do both together. Then to make it worse, you never know when it's going to turn into QTE hell.

    I think I prefer the movies. The story just seemed to stray farther and farther from where RE began. I don't remember a lot about the first couple, but I know damn well the zombies didn't shoot back or turn into giant cockroaches.

    Could the controls possible be any worse? The only 3rd person title Capcom has ever made with decent controls was the Devil May Cry series. How did they get that so right and everything else so wrong? I put up with Dead Rising and it's mind numbing load screens. I love the Onimusha series in spite of the less than stellar controls, but this game is ridiculous. News flash: laser sights suck in 3rd person. A reticule would be nice. If you're not going to let me move while aiming, at least make the aiming better.

    It's not just the aiming though. The movement is painfully slow even when "running." What the hell kind of run is that? You're not crossing the street. You're running from **** zombies! Move your ass! Then even when you're in a gun fight, you're constantly interrupted by QTEs. Yeah, I'm trying to shoot things with a mounted machine gun and it's just going to randomly ask me to press a button and give me only a split second to do it or take a stupid amount of damage. No thank you. I don't need a QTE for everything. I for one, remember a time when we actually finished our own battles, and ran away from things without the need for a QTE.

    When you play on Professional, everything kills you in 1 hit....in a game where you move and react like a goddamn turtle. Great work guys. How bout you just sharpen the discs and throw them at us. Might be more fun than playing this. It was totally awesome having the AI get herself killed 50+ times during an insane boss fight. One little burst from the boss **** SMG and somebody drops dead. It took me 100 tries to complete that fight, and only a 3rd of the deaths were my own. Cheapest, most retarded boss fight ever. I had one dude dead/dying 3 or 4 times and the AI just goes and gets shot by the other **** I've never been so close to breaking a 360 controller, and I've played some real gems on 360. I spent 10 hours failing a race in Ridge Racer 6 one time, and that didn't piss me off nearly as much as this.

    This is really fun to play.. with a frind, as I almost all the time I play alone not that much, that AI character is.. exasperating, I think that something is not going the right way, it can give you some fun anyway

    I actually thought this game was pretty fun. I always played with my boyfriend so I never had to deal with the AI co op, and made it a lot more fun. It was definitely goofy at times and the run and gun button mashing was done in a tolerable, but still annoying way. Still, the game was undeniably fun to play.

    I had no problem with the action oriented direction. However in solo the friendly AI is so stupid Sheva either shoots at me or is in the way when I shoot at enemies. I think 50% of Sheva's bullets went into my back. It's so bad it's laughable. Or she's in the way when I break crates and she gets injured. Completely unimmersive, a catastrophic fall when you consider the masterpiece that was RE4.

    RE 5 is one of the more enjoyable entries in the series. It follows the same formula of its predecessor, but adds a cooperative mode. While playing solo is fine, the game is best experienced with another player. Additionally, there are three difficulty levels and plenty of unlockable content. Fans of the franchise will have a blast with this one. I would rate it with an 8.5 out of 10.

    In RE's franchise, RE5 is quite controversial. Radically changed game's style, focusing in action instead of horror and trilling. Definitively, this one has nothing of this two genres. Story is fine in as any series' games and game is very funny, as playing alone as splitscreen. it's a game that makes you want to play until the end.

    I have to admit that this game is very fun. I won't give spoilers but you have to try it before Resident Evil 4. The game is fun and that this is the first good RE game I played(RE 6 was horrible but not the worst, still, don't try this game.

    I liked the game in general, but it just isn't scary to be a Resident Evil game. Graphics are amazing, no doubts, voice acting as well, but I just can't get over it. This isn't a horror game, it was "a beginning" of Resident Evil 6 - action game rather than horror game.

Le pire TPS en la matière qui ferait passer n'importe quel GTA pour un modèle de prise en main ! Par contre techniquement, c'est très joli.     Well this was a surprise. I wasn't amazed by RE4 like the most of the gamers, so I didnt have high expectations, but I found RE5 better in almost every aspect. Still its a shame we didnt get decent story and horror has gone missing for good.

    Great co-op game but as a Resident evil game it is shameful. And the DLC does not work if you re not connected to the internet! i can't believe it! DRM for DLC now

    As a resident evil fan, i still enjoy Resident Evil 5 with a friend. You still have to keep track off ammo and other items, working together to defeat different enemies, and deciding who gets which guns. Overall it has lots of replay value with mercenaries and DLC, it loses points for being straight forward for a RE game and not scary at all.

For better or worse, Resident Evil chose the action oriented path. Scares are few and far between, but I didn't mind, I had a blast playing it. Decidedly, the game put co-op as the star of the game. I played with a buddy throughout most of this journey. The customization options in this game is incredibly vast. The graphics are among the best I have seen this year, if not all time. The story is more focused this time around, but still remains to be convoluted at times unless you played previous Resident Evil games. All in all I enjoyed Resident Evil 5 and its co-op as it is well implemented, but I am concerned on the direction of the series.… Expand

This is a fun action game to play with a friend; one that puts "Army of Two" to shame. However, as a follow-up to one of the greatest games ever, it is quite underwhelming. Overall, it just feels like RE 4 with a cooperative feature tacked on. And while that's nothing to write off, I only wish the makers would've tried harder to make something even more compelling.     Playing alone transforms the game in a repetitive game with a very messy story, but ultimately enjoyable. Great voice acting and the always present cheesyness of this games makes this a must play for last-gen owners.
    Hardcore RE fans will be extremely angry    The game is made to be a cooperative experience. Each character complement the other, and synchronization is required to succeed.

    Most obviously, RE5 features online co-op. Although the game works well as a singleplayer experience, co-op truly is how it was designed to be played, and it is a superb addition. The co-op dynamic feels so natural when applied to the "second generation" Resident Evil framework. The storyline is broken up into chapters of a suitable size for online sessions, meaning that it's easy to jump in with a friend for anything from 30 minutes to multiple hours. As a result, I'm sure I've spent more time playing RE5 than any of the previous entries in the series, and I am a huge fan of the older games.

    The inventory system had to be reworked since weapons and restoratives needed to be easily-accessible in the heat of the moment. With pausing a thing of the past, so too the attaché case grid had to be ditched - seemingly a major issue for some, but completely necessary. The pacing of the game is spot-on. RE4, while fantastically relentless, was over-long and, at times, a bit of a slog. I felt that certain sections dragged and could have been condensed, resulting in a more impactful game. This game has very few lulls.

    All in all, a wholly worthy successor to one of the landmarks of videogaming, updated for the online age. Seeing how hideously wrong it all went for the sixth game just emphasises even more what a sensational title this is.    … Expand

    The Resident Evil community had anticipated the arrival of this game which was released in March 13th, 2009. Ever since the amazement of Resident Evil 4, fans were in for which seemed to be a complete epic sequel to the Resident Evil series.

    However, it wasn't... The scare factor has been lost, completely! It was too easy, the game itself didn't feel like Resident Evil, it just felt like... Well... Rubbish!

    Zombies with guns... YES! Zombies... With... Guns. I just can't believe what Capcom were thinking, huge disappointment and in my opinion a complete insult to the Resident Evil fans/community.

    There is no horror in this game whatsoever, so to those saying "Mix between horror and action" it's just action, you most certainly do not get them feelings you did in the early series, with all the technology we have today, I was expecting to have the crap scared out of me... In fact, the crap this time round was the game itself.

    Resident Evil 1-4 was the best of the series. I don't think we will have anything like that again *Wipes away tear*.

    Admittedly it's a unique co-op experience. Sticking together with your buddy is a must if you want to survive the majority of the encounters, so when the game splits you up there's actually a feeling of apprehension. There are a number of cool things the game tries with co-op that makes me wish it was all tied to a better game. I found RE 5 to be an incredibly tedious experience thanks to it's dated gameplay mechanics. Not being able to move while shooting or reloading is a nightmare given just how many enemies the game will throw at you, and often from different directions. I assume this was done to create a sense of fear in players, but all it did for me was create anger. Honestly the gameplay mechanics just aren't suited for this type of action-oriented gameplay, and just make things much more complicated and awkward than they should be.

    The game was not fun for me at all. Thanks to Capcom's stubborn attempt to cling to the series past whilst also trying to movie it forward, they created an experience that I just couldn't enjoy. It fails to create any sort of fear and feels unbelievably dated for a game that came out back in 2009, despite how good looking it is. They tried to capture the essence of both action and survival-horror games, and only ended up capturing the worst things about both genres. While it is a unique co-op experience, it's also a painfully flawed one. It's probably best that you and your buddy pass on this one. My total score is a 4.3/10=Bad.    … Expand

Another complaint is having a stupid companion with you who get's in your way. While it's true that this is annoying, I do like that I can have one of my bro's pick up a controller and play as her to help me on my mission. Though it's no excuse for a piss poor A.I, it's still nice to see a co-op feature. I'd definitely get this game if you see it in stores.… Expand

    I gave this game a 6 based on coop with my friend. RE 2 and 3 are my childhood favorite horror games, SO I always have special feelings for this franchise. I found this game is awkward, it was half-horror and half-action and failed at both aspects. I am a little bit of mad at how Ca(sh)com handled and ruined this gold title.

    What I like is the weapon slots and you can move them to the left or right or up or down slots so when you push down you have that weapon equip rather than going in the inventory screen and doing it that way the inventory is the worst they done to this game because you can't PAUSE THE GAME at all leaving you able to get attack from all the place by random mobs.

    A lot has been said about how the series is losing it's 'horror' element in the more action-oriented RE4 & 5. Personally I found number 4 horrific at times (the Regenerators, even on their own had me mortified more than any other RE enemy), but number 5 just isn't horror. That's not to say that the game should be criticised. What it is is a compulsive, highly playable action shooter with the most gorgeous graphics on the 360, in my opinion.
    The choice of setting is inspired, but I don't think that the variety of environments in Africa has been exploited on this game. The early chapters, wondering through shanty towns seem authentic, but later levels could be set just about anywhere else with lakes and caves. This is a minor criticism however.
    My major problem with this game is it's simplicity, caused by linear level design, self contained and obvious puzzles and the games extremely short length. RE4 took me about 13hours to finish, this took nothing like as long.
    However these flaws are compensated by the games replay value. For all of us achievement freaks, there are alkinds of weapons, treasures etc to be gathered, plus screen filters that can be used to give the game a different look. Gimmicky, yes, but it all adds.
    I loved resident evil 4 for it's gameplay. The worst we could have expected from RE5 really was an inferior clone of 4, which is what we have sadly, but still a supremely enjoyable game while it lasts.
    A lot of people seem to be critical of Sheva's AI in the single player mode. Whilst i can understand some gripes, I can honestly say that for large portions of the game, I forgot that there was any co-operative element to the game. If you're deciding whether or not to buy this game, I wouldn't be put off by the idea of having a computer controlled partner. One or 2 sections may have you tearing your hair out because of her stupidity, but thankfully even on the harder difficulty (I have unlocked but not tried the 4th hardest difficulty by the way) you'll discover you'll only rely on her to keep herself alive and leave her to it.
    The enemies in the game are as usual ridiculous and over the top (and usually always very impressive). Lickers are particularly gruesome.
    Despite the length of time it took for this game to hit the shelves, it is, as i said, remarkably similar in feel to RE4. If you played and enjoyed the awesome Dead Space, this will really keep you entertained. It's not as good, but certainly worth the admission fee.

    They is some bad things here that I don't really like much:

    1. You have less space to carry things. (9 items for each character)

    2. You're friend or partner is un sure of what to do when they are surrounded by the bad guys they pick up ammo, health power ups for you yes but they don't attack the bad guys when surrounded not often enough.
    Mostly the CPU.

    3. You can't pause game at all game is ruined by this cause people can attack you still.

    4. You can't run and shoot like RE6 boo.

    What I like about this game is I recently got it and liked the new weapons on it
    like the 1 handed shotgun which only Chris can hand it 1 hand.

    The mercenaries has more stages on it too which will take hours and hours getting SS ranks.

    This game should please Resident Evil fans as it's as close as RE4 can be.    … Expand

The action is fun, the atmosphere is tense when needed to be and the story more or less what you would expect. My only real qualms with the game are big ones. 1) The AI partner, she is unnecessary and gets more in your way than anything else. They shouldn't of bothered including her for the single player campaign. 2) The chapter/section setup doesn't always feel natural when transitioning from one to another and it does break the overall atmosphere. They feel more like levels than section of one game. Overall: RE 5: Is flawed and made some unpopular choices regarding the direction of the series, but I though this game was a sold (but flawed) attempt to do something new. Get rid of the AI partner and I would score this slightly higher.… Expand

It was the first Resident Evil I played and I have to say, while I had fun tearing through the zombies, I felt the game was too easy, especially having only played the series for the first time. The worst thing was the amount of ammo. Soon after discovering the other Resident' evils, I learned that conservation was the key. Re5 was like playing Call of Duty. What was particularly bizarre, was the fact that some of the Zombies had guns. The melee weapons not so as much, because zombies(sorry for being Politically incorrect) have could easily pick up weapons and swing. Now there are lickers, the only creatures that actually fit the bill of Resident Evil. We also have Jill Valentine, Wesker and Chris Redfield. Now the buddy system is alright, providing you are a new-gamer, with no sense of skill, and enjoys the overkill of COD. Makes for good multi -player, but since when was Re a multiplayer game. It's forced multi-player for what historically has been a single-player game. I don't have xbox live and don't want it for the simple reason that I enjoy playing games ALONE. It'd be one thing if your ally was impeccable, but he/she seems to mostly just waste ammo and get in your way.

    Secondly, the game isn't scary. At all. You spend most of your time in sunlit outdoor areas. Where's the horror?

    Finally, there's a time in the life of most long-run video game series where things just need to change. Not being able to move and attack at the same time was charming in RE1 & RE2, but it's annoying as all heck in RE5. This is especially the case as RE5 plays more like an action/shooter game than traditional survival horror....so you find yourself wanting to engage in some shootin', stabbing, and blowin' stuff up but no...you're a walking turret.     Amazing game, the best Resident Evil ever, the best action game, horror game, the final is amazing with Wesker, I love Jill and Chris again, the so emotional scene. I really hope that RE6 be better and GOTY 2012.

    This is a very good game if you haven`t played RE4. If you do have played RE4 then this is just an OK game. (I would score it 6.7 but there`s no decimal scores on metacritic)

Finishing RE4 profi mode just took me close to 20 hours on xbox 360. (RE4 is an O.K. game)

    Resident Evil 5 is one of the better games that I have played. RE5 is a good way to jump into the series if you are not interested in other RE games (like me). The story is pretty good as I kept playing, anxious to see what would happen next. I especially like Wesker as he is an amazing character and his abilities grant him a place on my list of favorite villians.     it also has the badest, of badasses. Albert Wesker. holy mother of god was i psyched when i first saw him. then when i found out what he had done to Jill. i was pissed. the whole idea that he had brain washed Jill after making it seem that Jill had died after a greatly epic battle with wesker. i hated wesker more than i ever had in my career of playing the RE games. the battles with him were well done, and fun. the cutscenes were epic. the fact that there weren't as many interactive cutscenes as 4, but it was still fun.
    now, i hate the fact that people complain about some of the stupid things like the whole zombies driving, and using guns. its a **** video game. its not suposed to be realistic. idiots.
    and there are complaints about how you can't run and gun. of course you can't! if you've played any RE game, then you know that you don't run and gun. same as every freaking re game. and yes, the controls aren't re4, but you can change them! god! i really don't like the fact that people also complain about sheva. all i have to say to that is this. remember re0? and i'll leave it at that.    … Expand

Having Sheva around - when playing single player - can be as annoying as having Ashley following you around because she's always dying on you and she's the only thing that makes the professional modes hard. This game is extremely easy, and though Sheva is there to help, she's the only thing making it difficult (unless you play with somebody online). So basically you can play with online friends on both the storymode and on mercenaries - and Mercenaries mode has been improved much more than it was in RE4 and has a vaster amount of playable characters. One complaint of mine on character design is that they made the monsters very comic-book like in their huge size (though the details are amazing) and they made Wesker's appearance slightly less badass and professional than he as in RE4. Also in RE4 Wesker had stronger abilities in Mercenaries. Really RE4's a better game, but this is still very fun.… Expand

You can keep all your weapons from the prior play through, which makes the second time around so much EASIER, but after an hour of that I came to my senses. Why would I want to go through all those repetitive puzzles one more time? I would not. For the record, being apple to move while shooting would make this game more fun.… Expand

So if you picked up something useful, and it's in the top right slot, you need to stop, move to it, equip it, leave the menu, all while there are zombies coming at you. Forget it if you want to combine herbs. Capcom also pulls a little DLC trick. The online versus mode and Mercenaries Reunion characters were originally supposed to be in the game, but Capcom decided to put that and both DLC chapters in the later released Gold Edition in an attempt to weasel as much money as they can out of their loyal customers. Shame on you, Capcom, for soiling the legacy of Leon S. Kennedy.… Expand

    I've always been a big fan of the Resi series so it's goes without saying that I bought this game out of brand appeal...at first.

    The plot is the usual Resi affair in that you are a previously established character who finds themself in the middle of a zombie panic and must survive long enough to escape and discover the truth behind what happened and usually blowing up one or more labs along the way (that's not a spoiler, it's just what happens in EVERY RESIDENT EVIL GAME EVER MADE!). The main differences here are that you are part of an international anti-bioterrorism agency (rather than the local police's S.W.A.T team), Chris has apparantly become a religious fan of the film 'Pumping Iron' and is now accompanied by a token black chick...I mean 'partner from within the agency'.

    While on the topic of Sheva, her AI is...'compotent', not great but not 'Dead rising' either. It's that awkward middle space where she can act well enough on her own but there are times where she should just know better ('no Sheva, you do not need to use a first aid spray on me every time I get a splinter'). Most of the time I only found use for her as a pack mule and meat shield (the exception to this being if there is another player present, in which case she is as good as the person controlling her).

    She's not even characterised that well, I would have forgiven her next to pointlessness if she hadn't been as likeable as a bottle of gone off, sludgey milk. She feels like she's been shoehorned in, namely because she has little, if anything, to do with the plot of the game (besides an equally cheesey story about how her parents were killed...BY UMBRELLA! Dun dun dun!). Her only excuse for being there is seemingly a) so they could have co-op play (Outbreak had co-op but every character had a legitimate excuse for being in the game, even the token black guys and women) and b) so they didn't get accused of being racist (and Resi 5 isn't even racist anyway, are we seriously trying to suggest that the reason Chris goes to Africa and kills lots of zombies is simply because he just doesn't like black people?).

    The gameplay is almost directly copy-paste from Resi 4 (which was a good game) and while some may complain that the inventory system sucks, it does help speed the game up (especially when it comes to co-op) and gets rid of that annoying need to rearrange everything every time you want to buy a new gun. Most the new guns look and feel a little 'meh', granted, now every weapon (more or less) can be obtained for free but a lot of them have little that makes them special or they're just direct copies from Resi 4 (except slightly more 'military' looking) and now there are no exclusive upgrades (no more badass long range shotgun or pistol that pierces through five guys at once,this saddens me greatly).

    There are plenty of unlockables (but obtaining the money to buy them is a huge time sink) and the ability to choose levels does help add to replay value by allowing you to pick your favourite areas or help friends in areas where they are stuck (or get items and collectables that you missed).

    Overall, Resi 5 is good if you're a fan of the series and you have a friend to play with, non-fansmay find themselves in over their heads and without a co-op partner you'll find yourself occasionally cursing the AI for it's moments of sheer stupidity.    … Expand

    Resident Evil, is a fun game, but it's just not that scary. The game play and campaign overall is very fun and entertaining, but it's not that SCARY! But i had a fun time unlocking all the weapons without glitching, but Resident Evil 5 is just not that scary! Overall, it is a fun game that will keep you entertained for a long while, but It's just not that scary! Thank you.

    Polished to hell. I found the story weak and the game simply isn't as fun to play as the others before it. Still, there's enough here to love (loads of weapons, Mercs mode, co-op, Jill's ass...) and I still play it a year on. Must mean something.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Resident Evil 5 will capture your hearts as it leads off from the previous chapter Resident Evil 4. Basically, Capcom took everything that was good in Resident Evil 4 and took Resident Evil 5 to the next level. Besides the improved Inventory system and introduction into the new "Co-op" in the Resident Evil Series, the boost in graphics and sound will definitely make the hairs on the back of your neck rise as it delivers the ultimate experience while playing Resident Evil 5. To get started on the basic plot of Resident Evil 5. Resident Evil 5 starts 6 years after the destruction of Umbrella and your still playing as Chris Redfield but this time he has become an agent of BSAA to help fight biological terrorism. To top it off, you even have a new partner "Sheva Alomar". Your probably wondering where Chris Redfield old partner, Jill Valentine is? You will have to find out yourself when you start playing the game.

    As you and your new partner (Sheva) continue to fight the ongoing infection that has infected the people of Kijuju. This time, they aren't just zombies and it wasn't an accident. A power-hungry corporation modified and created a new virus that controls the mindless host. You will find them more challenging and dangerous than before.

    One of the great perks of Resident Evil 5 is the Cooperative play of the game. You can go it alone or invite a friend to play with you through Xbox live. Another thing I find great about Resident Evil 5 is the in between screens. It is almost like watching a movie with a great story line. A downfall, is the shortness in ammo. I find it hard to collect ammo for more powerful weapons, so to keep in mind. Use your bullets carefully.

    In conclusion, Resident Evil 5 is definitely worth buying. Definitely worth playing. If you enjoy previous Resident Evil games. You will enjoy Resident Evil 5, but I wouldn't give my hopes up as Resident Evil 5 brings an exciting experience to the table that is different then previous versions. If I were to rate Resident Evil 5, I would definitely rate it 4 out of 5 stars. I look forward to replay Resident Evil a few more times on a more difficult setting to truly test my ability to stay alive!    … Expand

Praise must be given to the excellent presentation and the overall polish, but Resident Evil 5 emplores entry-level game mechanics, resulting in it being a dull, tired experience.… Expand

    While the developers' decision to copy elements from Resident Evil 4 make it feel less original (despite better visuals and a new location), you'll have a blast (especially with a buddy) but after waiting four years for a sequel, we expected better.

    It's hardly the dramatic revamp that RE4 was for the series, but it marks the first time that co-op play has been implemented. As a result, the overhaul makes it a good single-player game, but a great multiplayer one. Thanks to its persistent approach to weapon upgrades, it's well-suited to replay. It's a visually splendid game with gorgeous cinematics that evoke the same awe as previous games did in their time.

    You'll get a lot more out of it than you do from typical games with no competitive multiplayer and while played cooperatively it really sings. It's lost a lot of what has made the franchise a pins-and-needles experience, but that sense of dread has been replaced with pure action that's hard to match.
