    I hated every second I spent playing this. I love open world games, they're among my favorites to play, but I thought I was getting a cowboy open world game, not horse simulator. Every single thing about this game is about horses. I did a mission to hunt a bear and the first thing it forced me to do was unsaddle the horse I was using, saddle a new one, sell that horse, and use the moneyI hated every second I spent playing this. I love open world games, they're among my favorites to play, but I thought I was getting a cowboy open world game, not horse simulator. Every single thing about this game is about horses. I did a mission to hunt a bear and the first thing it forced me to do was unsaddle the horse I was using, saddle a new one, sell that horse, and use the money to buy a new horse. Every time I want to do anything it's a 10 minute minimum horse ride to get somewhere. Then I have to brush my horse because he got dirty and dirty horses' stamina refills slower, feed the horse because it needs to regain health because the auto pilot (there's horse auto pilot) tripped over something and injured it, then find a place to hitch the horse or not hitch it and send it off to safety depending on what I think might happen to it. The actual gameplay, not counting horse maintenance, is a minute or so of stuff happening, usually with a rigid scripted outcome that you're given no choice over, and then back to primping and riding your horse.… Expand

    Before playing the second part, I decided to get acquainted with the first(I didn't want to search how to play because I didn't have a console[only for several exclusives]). I was pleasantly surprised by how well this "gaming old man" was made. An interesting story, many different, no less interesting, side-quests, pretty good graphics.     Like GTA games but with horses, except horses are nowhere as fun to use as a car or bike as you'd imagine. No cool radio to set the mood either cause you didn't have those back then. And just those two things alone make it a lot more boring, there's not a lot of interesting things to do and the story was pretty forgettable tbh. GTA with cars is better than with horses but overall RockstarLike GTA games but with horses, except horses are nowhere as fun to use as a car or bike as you'd imagine.     Este jogo como todo jogo da Rockstar claramente segue o padrão de qualidade que a mesma mantém em todos os seus títulos, o game tem ótima ambientação estilo velho oeste, personagens carismáticos e uma história que segura a atenção do jogador em todos os seus momentos, e diga-se de passagem, foi o único game que eu joguei que conseguiu me emocionar em seu final, é de fato um final que deixaEste jogo como todo jogo da Rockstar claramente segue o padrão de qualidade que a mesma mantém em todos os seus títulos, o game tem ótima ambientação estilo velho oeste, personagens carismáticos e uma história que segura a atenção do jogador em todos os seus momentos, e diga-se de passagem, foi o único game que eu joguei que conseguiu me emocionar em seu final, é de fato um final que deixa o jogador sem palavras, assim também como o seu realismo providenciado pela engine " Rage ", este que faz o protagonista ter movimentos extremamente realistas como nós temos em nosso dia a dia. Falando agora de seus itens secundários, vamos as críticas, alguns itens como as missões de estranhos são em sua maioria sem sentido, em nenhum momento senti que havia algo concreto por trás dela, somente objetivos bobos em um contexto bobo, mas ainda assim renderam bons momentos, o que eu realmente não gostei neste game foram seus minigames, a Rockstar já vem a tempos implantando mini games extremamente complicados em seus jogos e me estressando com isso a um bom tempo, porém nada se comparou ao stress causado pelo minijogo " Five Finger Fillet ", este que beirou o impossível para mim, pensei até mesmo que não conseguiria chegar aos 100% do jogo por conta disso, em questão o jogo é grandioso em seu modo história, mas seus objetivos secundários deixam a desejar grandemente, temos outro que são os desafios, a temática é interessante, mas alguns como o de caça por exemplo apresentava objetivos completamente difíceis como por exemplo matar 3 ursos de cada vez com um tiro, eu lembro que consegui matar alguns com um tiro e o jogo não contabilizou e aí está outra coisa que me enraiveceu, além do que se o jogador morrer enquanto faz algum desafio, pode acabar perdendo o progresso já conquistado no mesmo e isso não faz o menor sentido pra mim, além do que acabei gastando mais tempo que o necessário em determinados desafios por conta disso, por esses motivos deixo aqui a nota 9, um jogo com modo história maravilhoso e impecável, porém com ítens secundários desinteressantes em sua maioria, mas claro, ainda assim foi um dos jogos que amei ter experimentado e recomendo fortemente a todos.… Expand

    Grand Theft Auto in the west (aka Red Dead Redemption) Is a remarkable achievement in story telling, and gameplay. With a super likable main character, and hours of fun action, and exploring a large open world makes this adventure an unforgettable one.

    The only open world sandbox that I've completed. A real testament to the quality of the activities and gameplay you do throughout this masterfully crafted world. Quality writing and acting as well. Does a wonderful job immersing you in the world.

    In my 30 years of gaming, Red Dead Redemption is my favourite game to date. It’s a shame R* didn’t supersede this with RDR2. A true Masterpiece if you’re into Wild West movies and feel like taking the role of the lead character.

    A masterpiece. A worthy sequel (chronologically speaking) to Red Dead Redemption II. Yet another beautiful example of what gaming can be, and as per usual it is Rockstar Games that are the masterminds behind it, boldly pushing the boundaries of interactive entertainment. Both Red Dead Redemption and Red Dead Redemption II are clear 10/10 for me. They are both easily the greatest pieces ofA masterpiece. A worthy sequel (chronologically speaking) to Red Dead Redemption II. Yet another beautiful example of what gaming can be, and as per usual it is Rockstar Games that are the masterminds behind it, boldly pushing the boundaries of interactive entertainment.     Well, playing this game in 2020 with the 4K patch on a One X is quite amazing. The game itself is great, the content is well dimensioned, a rich story and, it's rare enough to mention, real sidequests with real stories. A must play which has clearly earned its reputation, still 10 years later.

Кто-то скажет: "Реализм!", я скажу - тупизм. Почему Артур промахивается из карабина с расстояния 30 метров по неподвижной вазе?!?! Что уж говорить про врагов, они просто неубиваемые терминаторы - в каждого надо засадить по 3-4 пули чтобы он сдох, и это при идеально вычищенном оружии! Надо стрелять в голову! - подскажут мне опытные игроки, и да, при стрельбе в голову тебе придется потратить всего 2!!! С**А патрона! Какого хрена первый патрон всегда сбивает шляпу с головы? Неизвестно. Р-реализм.
    Учитывайте еще, что оружие неавтоматическое, и передергивать затвор нужно нажатием той же самой лкм (сидишь и барабанишь по мышке). От этого стрельба становится еще менее комфортной и доставляющей удовольствие.
    3) Розыск. Тебя З**БУТ охотники за головами, если ты должен денежку за плохое поведение, и не важно была ли на тебе маска в момент совершения правонарушения, искусственный интеллект рокстар геймс вычислит тебя даже под ней. Р-реализм. Для примера: у меня была перестрелка с охотниками за головами, которую я проиграл. Не страшно подумал я и загрузившись развел костер, чтобы восстановить силы. Рядом никого не было, только начал жарить мясо на костре, как появилась банда охотников за головами, и пока я выходил из режима отдыха, меня уже убили) Дальше смешнее - загрузился я в той же локации недосчитавшись нескольких долларов в кармане, только начал двигаться и... угадаете что произошло дальше? ТА ЖЕ САМАЯ БАНДА третий раз подряд решетит тело главного героя за 1,5 секунды! Ммм, уже чувствую, что скоро пойму эту игру и буду получать удовольствие (нет).
    4) Стрельба верхом на лошади, когда тебя кто-то преследует. Мало того, что придется испытать все "удовольствия" перечисленные выше, так ты еще хрен нормально прицелишься и скорее всего упадешь со своей лошадью с обрыва, потому что ты не видишь куда едешь, а у лошади автопилота нет, к сожалению(
    5) Подводя итог в пятом пункте хочу сказать, что играя в эту игру ты не ощущаешь себя главным героем, ты вообще никто в этой игре, один среди таких же нпс. Убери из этой игры графику и логотип Рокстаров и что останется?

    P.S. Проведя в этой игре 117 часов, со временем я реально начал кайфовать. Игре требуется время, чтобы забраться в сердечки самых нетерпеливых.    … Expand

    I absolutely adore this game. Everything about it from the characters to the music. Where it may have a lot of glitches from it being a lesser priority considering it was wedged between Gta 4 and 5 it still shines in my heart and the sequel cannot beat it.

    It's a good Game, but not even close as great as rdr2, rdr2 beats this game in everything also including more of the 50% of the map of this game, this is an example of a work surpassed by his sequel and don't get me wrong I think for example that mgs2 is better than mgs3 or mgs3 is better than mgs4 or GTA IV is way better than GTAV but this is not the case, It lacks the nobility, theIt's a good Game, but not even close as great as rdr2, rdr2 beats this game in everything also including more of the 50% of the map of this game, this is an example of a work surpassed by his sequel and don't get me wrong I think for example that mgs2 is better than mgs3 or mgs3 is better than mgs4 or GTA IV is way better than GTAV but this is not the case, It lacks the nobility, the insane open world narrative, mature and the amazing slow pace of rdr2 that made clear that it's going to be a mandatory feature in next entries to come in the series, although the BEST thing of this Game is the ending of the story.… Expand

    Definitely play it. It's a classic at this point and a must play. Also not too long with its 17h of main story and at least as much of extra content if not more.

    also: Horse-back riding is for this game what ship-'driving' was for Assassin's Creed IV: Essential for immersion and masterfully implemented. You could just ride from one end of the map to the other and it would probably feel great    … Expand

    I just finished playing RDR for the second time in my life and I'm pleased to say that it holds up more than well. In fact, for a game that is now over 10 years old, it holds up so well that I am confident that it has cemented itself in video game history as a classic.

    This was released at the time that Rockstar started to really refine game-play in all their titles.     This was released at the time that Rockstar started to really refine game-play in all their titles. Once GTA IV was released, it was just a matter of slight tweaks here and there to make all future titles exceptional. And that really shows in the first Red Dead. Controlling John, house riding and gun-play is extremely intuitive, responsive and easy to pick up. This in turn makes the entire open world experience a delight and so much fun! Which I might add, this world has just the right amount of content that adds extra engagement without feeling bloated (which is rare in the genre these days).

    The open world is fun, but also incredibly beautiful. I played on a Xbox Series X and the slight upressed graphics only slightly enhances what was already a stunning looking game. Additionally, I remember frame drops on the 360, which were completely gone as everything ran smooth from start to finish. But the Series X only touched things up as the art direction and design is what makes Red Dead a masterpiece. That also extends to the brilliant sound! Sure, the firing of guns, gallop of hooves and overall effects sewn into the journey are very impressive. But it is the score that ties the whole art design together. Each location is enhanced by the music and given a unique sense of atmosphere as you travel from one place to the next. Oh, also, there are some nice original licensed songs thrown in at just the right time for good measure.

    After considering all that, how could this ever be a classic without a masterfully written story behind it. This also came at the time when Rockstar made the wise decision to hire 'no-name' actors for their roles. But they are actors that fit every colourful character perfectly all of which have some of the best dialogue in gaming to work with. The story itself is classic Rockstar, mixing parody with drama that remains a great formula for entertainment to this day. It is Johns journey itself that really wins it all. No matter how you chose to play, you will join John on a struggle to leave the outlaw life behind, while battling his very inner nature.

    I could go on and on really as there is so much to love about this game. I played this again after RDR2 and adored how it organically felt like it rounded off John Marston's saga with Dutch and his gang. But that story is one piece that makes a complete package and that package will forever be a must have for any gamer's library.

    With the perfect graphic performance that being generationally advanced, the RDR tells amazing story and provides excellent gameplay. It should be remembered as a legend in video game history.

I prefer Red Dead Redemption 1 on Xbox 360 due to the controllers button layout and that the game look slightly better on the Xbox 360 over the PS3. Rockstar did such a great job bringing this world to life. When you're playing it it feels like you are playing out an old western movie. If you play this now and you have never played it before you might be a little spoiled by today's standards for graphics, but the graphics are still very impressive for its time (the game was originally released in 2010). The gameplay is superb. There is a feature known as "Dead-Eye" where when you shoot you can take out multiple targets at once when you are shooting. The game has an "honor" system where depending on your actions in the story, side missions, or just chance encounters with NPC's, you will gain or lose honor, and gain or lose fame. My favorite part of the game hands down is the story. In this game, you play as John Marston, a former outlaw who is forced by the government to hunt down the remaining members of his old gang in order to save his wife and son whom the government is holding ransom in exchange for Marston's services. This game has so many memorable characters, is well written, and will make you so invested in the story to see what happens next. As the title suggests, it is a story centered around redemption, and a man being forced to face his past. This game will make you feel so many emotions, and it is such a well told story that I cannot give it enough praise. This is easily a 10/10 game that everyone should experience.… Expand

    One of the best games of all time! Perfect and dynamic soundtrack, a very original and well told story, awesome character development and the protagonist is one of the best characters of the whole videogame industry. It's a whole masterpiece with a lot of things to do and a nice gameplay. Without any doubt, my favorite game of all time :D

    'Red Dead Redemption' is a must buy. Every Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 owner should play this game (as long as they're over 18 and not a member of PETA). The only reasons I can't give this game a full 10 are the annoying glitches, connection issues and the lack of difficulty.
