    How you enjoy R.B.I. Baseball 14 depends on your love for the original game. This remake does play just like it, and its modes are good fun as long as you bring a fellow player along for the ride. However, modern gamers expect more from their games, even if its an homage to a classic. With no online support and no adjustable difficulty options, R.B.I. could have benefited from more of an update.

    R.B.I. Baseball 14 is one of the most baffling new releases I’ve come across. The visuals are somewhat modern, and the rosters are current, but everything that happens after the pitch is thrown harks back to the ‘80s – a time when developers were just starting to figure out how to make baseball games.

It plays just like the NES version of the game. RBI Baseball was a game I sank 100s, maybe 1000s of hours into as a kid, and this game is a perfect representation of that old game. MLB did a tremendous job with this title. The game has 3 modes: exhibition, season, and playoffs. the controls are simple: when hitting, you press 'a' to swing. when fielding, you push the left stick in the direction of the base you want to throw to and press 'a.' when pitching, you press 'a' to throw the ball. pushing the left stick up throws an offspeed pitch. doing nothing throws a slower fastball/changeup. pushing down on the left stick ramps up your fastball. the visuals are beautiful. the simplicity is refreshing. if you enjoyed RBI Baseball on NES or SNES, you'll love this game. if you've never played RBI Baseball, it's worth the 20$ to give this game a try.… Expand

I went into playing this game with an open mind and as a baseball fan there is some fun to be had here. The rosters are current all though not every player is here, you'll get your teams 8 starting position player (or 9 with DH) 3 starting pitchers a reliever and 3 bench subs.The gameplay is very good(better than I expected), controls are basic but tight. After 1 or 2 games you'll have it down. OK now for some bad... There isn't much here, you get 3 game modes exhibition, season and playoffs. There isn't any online play which I knew going in but it seems like this game could be really awesome with online play, leader boards, etc.. Maybe even to the point of me starting my Xbox live gold account up again. There also isn't any stat tracking and this is probably the one thing I would think a baseball game would have. The only info you get on players is their 2013 stats, which would be fine for playoff and exhibition mode, but for season mode I would have liked to see some stats tracking, even if just some basic stats like batting average, HR, RBI, ERA and strike outs. So all in all it's a decent 1st attempt from MLB at making a real game(facebook doesn't count) and like I said there is some fun to be had but will mostly leave you wanting for more, even if it's just a little bit.… Expand

    I bought this game on Xbox One having good intentions going into it. Those intentions quickly got show down after the first game I played. There are many problems with this game. The first problem I have with the game is the batting. You can't control the power of your swing so every batter swings the same, which isn't realistic. Another problem I have with the batting is how you have to move the batter to try and hit the pitcher's pitch. I don't know about everyone else but I don't see batter's move that much in the MLB. The second problem that I have is the pitching. You have 4 pitchers to choose from for each team. You have 3 starters and 1 relieving pitcher with apparently is supposed to double as a closer. Every pitcher has the same pitches too, a Fastball, a Curveball to the right, a Curveball to the left, and a very unrealistic Knuckleball. You can't really develop a defensive strategy with only 4 pitches and terrible fielders. The last problem I have, and the one I hate the most, is the umpires. They make terrible calls and they are broken. They call runners safe when clearly the fielder has the ball and is tagging the runner. Also, they called a fair ball when it really was a foul on multiple occasions. These terrible umpires need to be fixed to even make this game even remotely okay. In my opinion I do not recommend this game this game to anyone. If you want a baseball game you might as well stick with the 2K series on the Xbox 360 or play The Show for Playstation 4. The only reason I'm giving this game a 1 is because it's the only baseball game on Xbox One.… Expand
