Players combat enemies in the air and on the ground with challenging and dangerous strike missions against well defended targets deep in the heart of hostile territory. Fly the world's most powerful fighters: Fly every modern jet fighter in the Western arsenal including the F-22A Raptor, the US air superiority fighter of the 21st century. Face more than 90 Western and former Soviet enemies and get in the cockpit of the F-15E Strike Eagle, F-16C Fighting Falcon, F/A-18C Hornet, Su-27 Flanker, MiG-29A Fulcrum, and F-117A Nighthawk. Attempt more than 80 intense missions in a modern-day global conflict: Players take the fight to the enemy in aerial battles all over the world and face massive, challenging missions with interlocking sub-missions. It looks and plays fantastically well and recalls the days when flight sims were something fun and accessible as well as requiring intelligence.
  2. Being a modern military aircraft lover, I can easily look over the sketchy graphics, the odd interfaces, and the brief missions and just enjoy the impressive lineup of birds. While it’s still hard to justify paying sixty bucks to fly a MiG, Eagle, or Raptor, this is as close as most of us will get to the real deals.
  3. The planes look pretty and they fly with precise controls and accurate physics, but that’s about all you can say nice about Over G.
  4. Over G Fighters manages to get into the sky, but fails to put on a memorable show.
  5. If you're in the market for a proper jet-fighter game, I'd recommend hunting down a proper PC simulation. I remember EF-2000 from about 1998 being about 1998 times better than this. And if you want an arcadey dogfighter, try "Crimson Skies" for Xbox 1 instead.
  6. A good example of why realism in games isn't necessarily the best outcome.
  7. Other than plenty of cockpit bleeps and bloops, the sound is also lackluster. Bad, generic metal loops dominate the soundtrack, making you actually wish Kenny Loggins was back on the scene.

This is NOT an arcade game, it is not meant to hand you all the flight levels on a plate. Once you've completed all the mission modes it's only the beginning of a very long process of learning all the flight mission assessment and tricks. If anyone thinks their that good take off from the main base head to the carrier heading 270 from the single player mission mode land on the carrier and take off do a circuit 20 times take off and land on the carrier without crashing. There's only one guy out there i know who can do it and I'm not sure even if he is cheating, on auto pilot non manual controls. This is the best video game ever period, the developers where years ahead of their time 12 years ago. This is the best flight simulator console game ever as well. If you cant fly this system you know the reason why. There's no need to run the game down. I've got 13 hours training UK GB and I fly this game on air-shows at the white/hotel base with retired pilots from the USAF & USMC USA. If you cant handle the game it's because of your limitations NOT because the game is rubbish or bad. I use a 50 inch LCD screen 1080 high colour TV, I sit about 5 feet away in a swivel chair. Yes this game has a In life, I am a pilot and I must say the reviews of this game by critics is surprising and contradicting in some cases. Yes this game has a steep learning curb but then again, flying in life is that way as well. Could any of you critics jump right into a real F-16 and not make the same mistakes or worse? I would agree that the graphics could be better and they could fix some of the glitches but the game overall is a good one and plays well for someone who wants a more "realistic" setting than a "gamey" setting and has the patience to learn to fly these jets. Till you see a better fighter combat game for the 360 you should stop throwing stones. Expand

The technology hit a chaff instead of a direct hit. The controlls are far from a sim, which is what this game tries to achieve. It does use the same japanamation type story and menu's as Ace Combat and others before it. Nothing revolutionary here. The graphics arent bad, but going 300+mph they dont have to be great. There is a lack of sense of speed due to the fact that there is seldomly anything relative to your plane to get a true sense of how fast your going. Its not that the game is horrible, unless you cant get past the lack of dual analog support which really bothered me because now adays it just doesnt make sense not to have it, or at least the option for it. The missions are incredibly short, not neccesarily a bad thing, since some are frustrating no matter how they are approached. Overall the game is just ok, be it for sim fans, arcade fans might not enjoy it as much. The depth in unlocking planes is great, along with customizing weapons. Multiplayer is decent yet shallow. Missions are short, and repetitive, no real thought or talent involved when shooting targets. Graphics are horriable! Online is a bit more fun, but definately not worth the sticker price or rental price. I could go on about how bad this game is, but instead i'll summarize it in two words, it sucks! Expand
