Don't judge this book by its menus...Yes the menus are literally identical to NHL 14. The presentation is also exactly the same. But that is where the casual eye has been fooled. If you are a casual NHL gamer, NHL 14 will do fine for you. However, if you are a hardcome HUT/GM fan of the NHL series, there is far more under the hood than the photo-copied exterior shows. If you are a casual NHL gamer, NHL 14 will do fine for you. However, if you are a hardcome HUT/GM fan of the NHL series, there is far more under the hood than the photo-copied exterior shows. There have been two main changes to the NHL 15 this year: rosters and gameplay. New rosters could be enough for a hardcore NHL gamer to warrant the annual purchase. While EA clearly had its hands full with the next-gen version, they obviously wanted to make improvements to the 360 and PS3 version of the game, but had to choose how to spend their limited time. So the menus and presentation were sacrifised for a number of great changes to gameplay.
    Gameplay improvements:
    - New heavier puck physics. While this doesnt sound like much, it actually is a massive improvement from the badminton birdie puck of years past.
    - More realistic shooting accuracy. Players with low accuracy shoot the puck like they should...missing the barn door by 12 feet. And the backhand is awesome!
    - Better skating. Yes, the players feel more weighty and realistic.
    - Improved player physics. Each and every player interacts with each other in all situations. Momentum makes a difference now. You can take out your own players. You can send goalies flying! Also the hitting is much more realistic and does not feel like you are starting an animation.
    - Goalies are more realistic. In this I mean they are actually weaker than before. But this is good! No more superhuman goalies!
    - Smarter AI. Finally, the AI angles players into the boards and cuts off the front of the net. No more skate in, cut to the middle and snipe top corner.
    - New commentators. Not sure what to say here. Ray Ferraro sounds great. Doc and Ed are okay at best.
    - Overall gameplay: improved, fine tuned, realistic, much better than NHL 14.

That is enough for any hardcore NHL gamer.

Once you get past the 13 year olds mad because they spent their entire allowance on a game similar to last years, you can get to the meat of the matter. Puck physics is pretty different as well. DL the '14 demo if you aren't sure to note the changes. This is a solid title that you probably won't have to upgrade from in years down the road. Of course, the new Blues jerseys aren't there and some goalie gear isn't brand new, but probably worth it regardless. Kids, keep your 7th grade critiques to yourselves. Expand

I love this game. The menu is the same as 14 but the game play is certainly improved. The puck physics are more realistic, the hits effect both players instead of just the recipient, and in gm mode(where I spend most my game time) players improve and decline with there stats and age appropriately. Again I love it, old gen still has all the modes and is a great play.

I love this game. this is the best NHL hockey game simulator to date. it boasts game modes such as Hockey Ultimate Team where you can spend even more real money to succeed, GM Mode which actually good. Live The Life which is the exact same as last year, and exhibitions mode. but my favorite has got to be EASHL which is EA Sports Hockey League. This game mode allows you and your friends to create a team completely from your own imagination allowing you to name it, make the jerseys, and select from a whopping 5 different logos. (Jersey creation is cool though) The reason why this mode is so critically acclaimed is because nothing beats the fun of losing in the playoffs. but things get orgasmic when your facing someone who is 80 overall and your team is only 65 overall and in division 10. losing to these people who glitch goal is the most fun ive ever had in my life. this game puts ocarina of time to shame. keep it up EA sports, we love your microtransactions. Buy this game. it is 100% worth the $60 price, in fact you should tip the guy at the counter just for being nice enough to sell it to you, because this game is so good most keep to themselves. i also believe that if you didn't pre-order then you are fat and unathletic and should commit suicide because your a **** Expand
