It’s quick to pick up and play, and All-American difficulty will make you strain for a win, but with a $60 price tag, this is only for the most die hard of fans.
-
The bells, whistles and added off-court content are nice additions, but the game suffers from some nagging on-court issues that should have been addressed before the extra stuff.
-
The intensity additions are all well and good, but the basic gameplay engine and A.I. system needs looked at a bit closer.
-
It’s definitely not a terrible game, but it’s never going to rise to the level of some of EA’s other sports titles unless it’s put under the microscope and seriously reexamined.
-
At least another year away from a run at the championship.
-
March comes early on the 360 with EA's first efforts on the console. It has some nice touches and gameplay tweaks, but nothing too impressive.
-
By dodging most of its NBA Live pitfalls, the company created a solid basketball game that does tremendous things for the sports genre, yet still fails to best the competition.
-
Most of the massive problems that have plagued next-gen versions of Live have receeded, leaving a game that's fun, accessible, and while flawed, full of enough personality.
-
This season it doesn't quite have all the fundamentals down pat, but another semester's worth of schooling and polish should help the next outing. Ultimately, it's a solid (if unspectacular) hoops title that deserves a look.
-
If you want a straightforward simple game of college basketball with nice graphics, March Madness is the one for you. But overall, 2K7 is the more complete college game.
-
Beneath numerous flaws there's a decent basketball game in March Madness 07, but you've got to dig too deep to find it.
-
It's a distant No. 2 to this year's unquestionably better "College Hoops 2K7."
-
The title is plagued with too many issues to be a big contender this year, which is a shame because the core gameplay is a lot of fun, proving that this series, like the young NBA hopefuls, is full of great promise and potential.
-
Electronic Gaming MonthlyIt's a solid effort, but it just doesn't have the minute-by-minute gravity of 2K7's college game. [Feb. 2007, p.89]
-
Easily the best NCAA basketball option out there. It does so much right that even the frustrating scoring issues can’t really kill the experience.
-
It’s easy to see that March Madness 2007 is not the best college basketball game on the market. It’s not even close.
-
Even with those changes, the game doesn’t come close to the competition.
-
Official Xbox MagazineLike Live 06, it has some core goodness, but it just needs some TLC. [Feb. 2007, p.79]
-
If you are a die-hard College Hoops fan, then you will find NCAA March Madness 07 fun enough to forgive its flaws and less than aggressive A.I.
-
EA has made some great strides in the right direction with March Madness 07, but when it comes to being able to hit the clutch shot in overtime to win it all, March Madness 07 falls short.
