Its clear that the franchise is on its way from breaking out from the shadow of its older, more popular sibling, Madden.
-
Electronic Gaming MonthlyIt's hard not to look at all those features on the current-gen version - monster playbooks, Campus Legend mode, trick plays, special-teams tweaks - and wonder why a football game coming one generation after "Madden" on 360 doesn't have what you'll find on the PS2 or Xbox. If you’re dead-set on getting draft classes for Madden 07 on the 360, go rent the game and play it for a weekend. Admire the pretty graphics and have fun with the gameplay that doesn’t amount to much more than a 60 dollar tech demo – it is still worth a rental just to see what could have been.
-
EA put a great deal of effort in capturing the emotional aspect of college football, but it mostly goes to waste because the Momentum Meter fails to accurately translate that energy and how it can impact what happens on the field.
-
EA has more than a year to polish this game and it came out pretty bad, or at least below expectations. For every nice touch, there was something far worse to overshadow it, for every new feature, we lost three, and I have never seen such a waste of the ESPN license.
-
If you foolishly cut your regular Xbox from your living room lineup, this game will do; it’s better than Madden, anyway. But this is still the least impressive NCAA Football game to date, and a rare fumble from EA’s dominant team.
-
netjakNCAA Football 07 for the Xbox 360 adds a layer of high definition polish to a franchise that was beginning to feel a bit to familiar year-to-year on the Xbox and PlayStation 2.
-
The Xbox 360 version is supposed to be the higher-end version on the market, but instead, you wonder where the extra $10 investment has gone. The game is sorely lacking in modes and extras that exist in the other versions, and its graphics and gameplay have some hitches that could've been remedied in production.
