There's not been a huge gameplay jump snice we last saw NBA Street, but it's certainly wearing far fancier clothes. [Issue 24, p.65]

NBA Street: Homecourt isn't quite the show stopper I thought it would be, but it's hardly a disappointment either.
  3. Punchy and immaculately produced, NBA Street Homecourt is a great jumping-on point for a simple, entertaining and really well-designed series.

A brief, nostalgic, slick and endlessly stylish trip down the memory lanes of the NBA’s greats, but not quite the bona fide hoop dream. [May 2007, p.116]

NBA Street Homecourt is all glitz and glamour, with little substance.

It's a great game in short spurts, but isn't good enough to play in the big leagues. [Apr 2007, p.95]

Lacking in variety and depressingly fixed, Homecourt never develops into anything more than a multiplayer-only option. Once you've seen every gravity-defying leap, the fun is largely over. [Issue 18, p.92]
  8. The gameplay becomes repetitive quickly and the campaign is over without much fuss. In the end, this fast-paced game falls victim to its own velocity.

It's more Harlem Globetrotters on amphetamines; in other words, it's a part of a continued progression to divorce sports video games from the sports themselves. But it does play fairly well and has style, so if you want to see what it would be like if Jason Kidd could dunk, or if basketball rules were more like weak guidelines, you might find it worthwhile, if short.
